It’s update time in Springfield! And after 8 years of TSTO, we’re finally tackling Black History Month! No time like the present for EA, huh? What’s in store for us this time? Well, we’re tasked with finding out the history of Dr. Hibbert, Carl, Lou, and the Simpson Family! Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.
Black History Month (Heroes of Springfield) follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it. This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!
With Act 4, one new premium character was introduced. In addition to helping with event currency, Mabel comes with her own, short, individual questline, so let’s take a look at the full dialogue questline now…

Mabel starts
Mabel Simpson: Virgil, let’s make a wager.
Virgil Simpson: Alright, whatcha got?
Mabel Simpson: If you can beat me at games of my choosing then I’ll cook dinner, but if I win you make us some of your famous wheel cakes.
Virgil Simpson: I like those odds. You’re on.
Mabel Simpson: Don’t be so confident. The first game is helping Abraham with his schooling.
Virgil Simpson: How is that a game?

Virgil Simpson: That’ll be easy for us both. We both stand out like a jackrabbit in a gopher field.
Mabel Simpson: *putting on a stove pipe hat* Speak for yourself. You’re it!

Mabel Simpson: Seems that way. But we won’t be after the logrolling contest!
Virgil Simpson: I hope you’re in the mood for a swim, there’s no way I’m losing.

Virgil Simpson: That was fun, we should do stuff like that more often.
Mabel Simpson: It’s not over yet. We have two more games to play.
Virgil Simpson: *sigh* Don’t be a sore loser. It’s over.
Mabel Simpson: We have to go hunting for food either way. May as well keep the contest going.
Virgil Simpson: Fine.

Mabel Simpson: We need a challenge that is the ultimate tie breaker.
Virgil Simpson: I have an idea, how about something easy…
Mabel Simpson: I got it! We’ll race to the border and back. Loser cooks up the dinner I hunted.
Virgil Simpson: Mabel, wait. I need to ask you something.
Mabel Simpson: *grabbing coat* Ask me after I beat you!
Virgil Simpson: Mabel, will you marry me? *gets on one knee*
Mabel Simpson: Oh, Virgil. I’m so happy.
Virgil Simpson: Happy that you won our little contest, or that we’re getting married?
Mabel Simpson: What do you think? *kisses Virgil*

I wish that was a permanent task.
A long, long time ago I took advantage of the glitch and currently have a gap in my mountains.
And, I placed the Canada crossing in that gap – Springfield Heights is now CAÑADA.
And my parklands and lakes are interconnected. So it would be great to permanently have Virgil and Mabel, THERE, on bended knee.
The Part 3 task is blocked for me even though both characters are free. What am i missing?
Same here! I’ve tried storing both characters.

We both need to unlock Springfield Lake in Heights. 😳
Mabel Simpson and The Patriarch were the best Content for this Event (at least both came with a Building to Task at which made sense).
Most of this Event isn’t worth your time (poorly executed = dumb). 🤷🏼♂️
May not be the right place for this, but I earned Rita LaFleur with my Black History currency. I was able to complete the first questline, but it is stalled at the second task “Make Rita LaFleur Play Romantic Tune”. It has the Quest is Blocked symbol beside it. I thought it may have been because I was stuck at the 4 hour Grandpa task for part one of the Wheel Cakes collection, but I have moved to part 2 and it’s still stuck. I also moved Rita to my inventory and placed her again and it’s still stuck. Any ideas for resolution?

Too much to tap. Too little time. Ruined the play through of this one for me. Hope everyone else had a good tapping time though.
I googled “wheelcakes,” and it looks like they actually exist! Though not with holes in the middle.
