The Black History Event is Nearing the End…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just a reminder that the Black History Event Ends TOMORROW March 12th (note the Thursday end date) .

It’s been a long ride but it’s time for this event to finally be put out of its misery.

As far as questlines go, what’s happened in the past is that the current prize you’re working on (on any questline) you were able to finish.  Once that current prize was completed then the questline disappeared.

This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.

As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.

Also, It’s EA so who the heck knows…

Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…

  • Questlines linked directly to the progression of the event will go. Like the Main Questline that pulled you through all 4 Acts. (unless you’ve started one, any questlines started you’ll be able to finish that part one the event ends)
  • However, the questlines linked directly to the prizes and Premium Characters you’ve won will remain. (so Virgil, Mabel, etc.)
  • The event removal will likely require an app store update to fully remove it from your game.  So don’t panic when the timer runs down and the event isn’t out of your game…  It may require an app store update to remove everything.

I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of the collection as far as you can. However, with the last few events, EA has really shut off the ability to play on “borrowed time”.  In other words, once the timer runs out the ability to collect prizes ends.  So don’t count on getting any extra time with this one.  Try to finish everything up before the timer runs out tomorrow morning.

So finish up those questlines, relax, and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.

Oh and a reminder…don’t forget Springfield Showoff!  Submissions for your event designs should be emailed (TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com) by tonight.  So please be sure to send them in! 🙂

Are you sad to see the event go?  Or ready for it to finally be over?  How did you do with the prizes?  Get everything you wanted?  What are you hoping to see next?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

This game is called tapped out. Not much tapping going on anymore. It’s more like tasking.

    • It is one of the events that I just barely full completed and got all the prizes without getting any premium characters. I have always looked at the premium characters and always though they where in a lot of the ways only had minor use. The base characters give you event money at a rate of 5 and the premium characters which cost 150 donuts give you 8 and they only do that for 1 part of the event then often become useless.

    • It would be nice if there was a way to encourage people to get premium characters — aside from the ones sold for the event — to help with the tasks (albeit as a smaller rate). This entire event felt…tedious.

I got a message in my game that event ends today @ 22:49. Could I have continued working to get Virgil Simpson into Thursday, 3-12, without rushing the collection tasks since I had started “out of the mouth of Abe’s pt.5” this morning? Because I used a lot of donuts so I would be done before 22:49 o’clock today. D’oh!!!

  4. Are we nearly there yet . . . ?!? 😜

  5. I enjoyed the event. Several new characters, some cool stuff. I wish they would consider doing an event with crafting or NPCs

  6. EA should have at least extended the event by a day for all server & connection issues. I was locked out for 2 days cause of it

Spent rat trap sprinkles to get the two historic Simpson characters but that was all I was really interested in. Will play out the remainder until EA shuts me out. Definitely had to spend to finish. Bummer new strategy for EA. If they aren’t careful they will end up the same as the other cartoon family city building game where I spend no $ at all and barely play.

  8. This event was an example of the new normal. EA wants to drain us of doughnuts by speeding through events like this. This event was set up as the worst grind ever. I used doughnuts to speed through all four acts. It cost me a ton of doughnuts, but it was worth it. The good news is that I have a ton of doughnuts and I accrue doughnuts at an astronomical rate without any effort. The lesson of this event is that if you want to continue playing the game and get everything, then you will either have to grind like hell, or spend doughnuts to speed through.

  9. I knew by the end of the first week that I wouldn’t be able to finish without some major donuts, so I concentrated on the 2nd event, which had two characters. I did manage to start another Springfield, which now has a Golden Goose Realy. At least now no one has to llsten to Grandpa again.

  10. The story line to this event was great. If they’re going to make these insane task amounts again, they might as well bring back crafting.

  11. I also spent spent a lot of doughnuts to get Sharry Bobbins…..isn’t she supposed to fly around with her umbrella? When I send her out for her 24 hr job she just hovers above the ground!

  12. Do they tend to stop this on March 12 at 10AM or do they do it at midnight?

    • EA will push a Game App update when the clock runs out tomorrow (Thursday) that removes this Event ….. hope you finish in time. 👍🏻

  13. Don’t forget to buy the GGR guys!

  14. Things are so random, don’t g together at all. Bullies…where to put them ? Probably store them . The Christmas wheel? What???.

    • Actually the bullies are some of my favorites from this event. I bought at least 4 more groups. I have a couple groups near my E4 Championship Arena and games and I put the bus and a few more groups around the Ice Bishop broadcasting his demands in my Outlands. It has a very funny White Collar Mad Max meets Michael Douglas in ‘Falling Down’ vibe to it.

  15. Maybe the worst event ever. The Christmas wheel was annoying. I had to spend a lot of doughnuts to get Sharry Bobbins in the Easter from hell event. At least they were interesting and engaging. This will be the second event I’ve had to spend doughnuts to get it all but it was sooooooo frigging boring. Grade F-.

    • Didn’t get it all, didn’t want it all. Been spending donuts on yearbook items and doing tasks that remind me of the good old days.
