Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Another day, another update! Thankfully after 8 years, TSTO is still alive and kicking. Also thankfully we’re not reliving last year’s “dead zone” of TSTO. Anyway, yesterday launched a new update in TSTO..Pride 2020. Good, bad, or indifferent about this event, I’m just here to give you the info on the event.
Of course, as with all events, a questline comes with it to help move us through the ins and outs of the event…and unlock all of the prizes. As was mentioned on the rundown post this mini-event is similar to the previous mini-events, in that you’ve got to complete various tasks to unlock the prizes.
So let’s take a look at the questline to see just how to unlock all of the prizes…

Curious – do the prizes in events like this (restroom, Curl Up & Dye, pride car) count any towards the Conform-o-Meter (vanity, etc)? Or is that only the premium stuff (like Draggle Rock)?

Once Homer said the line about racing for pinks, I was hoping we’d get the Homermobile he designed. I know Herb is in the game but I’ve forgotten if we ever got the Homermobile or not.

Has anyone been able to work out what the confusing cheese and watch public toilet signs stand for? I thought maybe EA might have made it deliberately obtuse but solvable.
A week now and EVERYTIME I login, it has to download the game again! Ugggh why does this keep happening??

It occurred to me there are so many characters the average addict would have unlocked by now that would make more sense for the event than the same few characters we unlocked before level 20

I also wish we benefited from premium characters we choose to unlock in the events, EA has so many squandered opportunities. Many premium characters have inside tasks to begin with, why not let me unlock more wigs or something related to the event. i would like more costumes personally.
AND BART DANCING IN THAT BLACK WIG WITH THE PINK Bow would be an epic task.
One thing I love, even tappers not excited about the event have few options for those premium 4 hr tasks,. I love my ajax steel mill gay nightclub. What a great episode of the simpsons.
Has anybody else noticed that Smithers isn’t included in collecting items for this event (at least for the first prize), but also, won’t to do a task when you use the “Job Manager” option at the Employment Office (sorry TSTO… the Office of Unemployment 😆). I thought he’d, forsure, be involved with a Pride event. I’ve been sending him on 4hr tasks, just in case, as all other characters, not involved, are doing 24hr tasks.
Because the new premium character is actually just a skin for Smithers as I’ve just found out after spending 150 donuts 🤔
That’s because “Mysterious Waylon” is a costume for him. When you buy it you can assign him to collect wigs at premium rate.
I got the restroom this morning and is a neat decoration that I would’ve been happy to spend donuts on to get more. I’m glad that there is an update in the game now. Also, Don’t forget to buy the returning rainbow and pride decorations in the store since they haven’t been available for 3 years so it could be another 3 years before they return.
Technical Issues aside; as I can confirm it doesn’t matter what time you Tap, or where you’re located, or how fast your Network is …. too many Bart Simpson Screens a Day means I rush it with 🍩’s and farm more 🍩’s on the side while connected to the Game App (or I don’t bother to Login at all!) 🎮📲
We are fortunate to actually have any Event vs ‘nothing going on here’ (I won’t forget that l-o-o-o-o-n-g lull we experienced before); but after playfully heckling on Twitter @EAHelp ? I did get a friendly Tech Support to tweet back “we have many issues here!” (it is worth your time to seek help via EA’s TSTO Twitter account, just to check in on EA Bob / Babs!) 🤔👉🏻
I’m still learning that nothing is fool proof – be it the high demands to Login to an EA Game App, or the Network you are using to play a mobile Game App – what is guaranteed? another very funny Event (the writers obviously don’t have a problem being festive during Pride!) 😀👌🏻
It’s the last 2 Prizes left to obtain (Character Skins), no rush to complete it all (I will still take a break from Tapping in the weekends!), but I did get a good laugh at the Public Restroom w/ Confusing Signage Prize (reminded me of an incident which occurred back in April 1998 – in Beverly Hills – no I wasn’t involved (lol!) 😅👍🏻

I’m a TSTO newbie, playing jointly with my seven year old son who’s a Simpsons fanatic!
Can I just query – for each new prize in terms.of wigs, I can see it’s 105 for the bathrooms and then 140 for Curl Up and Die. But is that a consecutive 140, I.e. just another 35 wigs? Or does it restart at 0?

Oh man, that sucks, I knew it was too good to be true!
You can prevent any excess wigs getting wasted by sending the needed amount of characters to finish the prize to one location first and then send the rest to another location. If you have Hairy Shearers, store it and send the needed amount of characters to finish the prize to the secondary location which is Jake’s Unisex Hair Palace, for example, if you need 20 more wigs to get a prize then send 4 freemium characters to Jake’s. Then place HS again from your inventory then send the rest of the characters to HS to get the 15/23 wigs carried over onto the next prize. When the characters are ready to collect, remember to collect from Jake’s first then HS (try to send Bart to Jake’s since he is usually the first character icon to appear in the top left corner of the screen).
If you don’t have HS, you can also send the needed amount of characters to finish a prize on their currency tasks first then wait 5-10 mins and send the rest as long as you log in 4 hours later or set a timer/alarm when the 1st group is finished but before the 2nd group of characters is finished.

No problem, this tip works for near enough any mini and multi event but with different locations. I noticed 2 more possible locations for the tasks which is the Beefy Bishop’s Barbershop from the previous event (I assume this since I seen the Simpsons, Willie, Smithers, Lenny and Carl outside of it in one of my friends’ towns) and the Brown House.
Ha, ha don’t worry, you will have no problem at all completing this event. Should be all done within 7 to 8 days playing around 3 to 4 times day. Maybe even less.

They didn’t skip Christmas. They did an alternate version of it. It had snow/Christmas trees/vague references to Christmas. It was stupid, but it was there.
Let me clarify a little better…
This game launched in 2012. Every year since 2012 there has been a Halloween (THOH) Update and a Christmas/Snow/Winter Holiday update. Those are standards in this game. To contrast that, the first Pride Update didn’t hit until 2015. Then they skipped it in 2016. Brought it back in 2017 and 2018, and skipped it again in 2019. That’s hardly a pattern of “it would be unusual to skip it as it would be to skip Halloween or Christmas.” In 8 years of TSTO, this is the 4th Pride update.
And to be honest, in 2015 it wasn’t an event. Just an update with a Gil Deal and some pride decorations. In 2017 it was an actual mini-event. And in 2018 it was another little blip of an update, with decorations and a Gil deal. Hardly a big focus…especially since 2015 and 2018 ran at the same time as other events.
So really, in 8 years of TSTO you’ve had 2 Pride mini-events (including this one), and 2 Pride “sales” in the store. Hardly a cornerstone for TSTO, like Halloween and Christmas.
Of course I defer to you. To me there are two important events in The Simpsons, the first episode (with Santa’s Little Helper) and the Halloween episodes. While the “winter” events occur every year, I believe a lot of people complained the Pagan event wasn’t Christmas.
Just seems that over the years more and more gay characters have entered (or came out of the closet on) The Simpsons, so it isn’t surprising to have more “pride” items.
This IS something different with characters. It’s fun and entertaining.

This Mini Event has been a clever nod to RuPaul’s Drag Race (we should’ve had RuPaul as a celeb Character in Game App, though!)
