It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Not surprising, no new content released this week…with the end of Pride. But we should expect to see something new this week. What do you think we’ll see?
Things are starting to heat up, weather-wise, in the northern hemisphere, how are you planning on spending your summer? Have you purchased a pool of your own because of social distancing? Beach trips planned?

The pubs reopened yesterday!!! Not really in the same way as before, but better than nothing. Had a haircut (that was way overdue), some beers yesterday (still with the 1.5 meter rule that most people respect). Life is slowy turning back to normal
I had a glitch where instead of fencing a guys head replaced every few spots,
(Not sure how to add my photo here) but what got me is that I couldn’t figure out who this character was..
After a while I realized it’s probably a Krustyland patron… and then I wondered, is there a TSTOA post of the variety of Krustyland Patrons (images) as a complete set of each one? (I tried searching, I’m guessing not.. but if there was a way, that would be a neat post and we can name them maybe 😁

Hi anyone know how I can get Sideshow Bob as a character? I asked EA how to do it tried when they recommended but it didn’t work
Sideshow Bob is on a random trigger, you have to catch him on (I think) three occasions, and the he’s a permanent character. Try going to Other Springfield and tapping on him there (also a quick way to catch him when he is triggered) that might, just might, get him to appear in your game.
FWIW I was well past level 60 before I got him.
My personal wish is for an additional yearbook that has everything the first one didn’t. I’m missing a half dozen characters and a boatload of decorations and buildings from years past. I can now afford to buy those items so EA, please consider this request. Thanks.
THIS! Finally – only a couple months ago – have I started donut farming. Rat Trap Trucks are my choice of poison. Been playing for geez, 5-6 years (?), and never been interested, as KEM farming required too much dedication that I never have time for. But recently my ingame cash was reaching max level, so did some farming and BOOM I now have about 5000 donuts and still keep reaching max level ingame cash! I’m well on my way to clearing the Yearbook and yes, ANOTHER yearbook would be AWESOME!
I first started playing during Clash Of Clans but then 6 months later my phone was stolen and I had to start a new game (I didnt create an EA account). So any of THAT stuff reappearing would be great!
1918 + 1929 + 1968 = 2020
1918 – pandemic
1929 – stock market crash
1968 – protests
Don’t get it, doesn’t add up
It’s not about adding up the years. It’s the 3 events (pandemic, market crash, protests) combined from those 3 years that equal 2020.
What!!?? Still doesn’t add up, how did you get 2020 out of that 😕
So, how we all doing? Just asking because it has been all good for me. Anyways, who wishes to start a pun war with me, cause I’ve got many “pun-derful” puns ready.
Now is not the time, we need to make Pun Love not Pun War, because everyone gets PUNished during a Pun War.
Pun Love on the other hand brings people together, and on the other foot it brings people Toe-gether.
We could all just try to think of something punny to add to this post 🙂
So do we think we’re getting a new event on Wednesday. I hope so. And a change of format would be good. I don’t mind a rehashed format. Just time for a change
After Christmas and NY’s came and went with no new format I gave up hoping. I don’t even think of them as events anymore, just new content updates. Even so, I’m grateful for the distraction that has come at pretty steady intervals lately. Hopefully we get a little teaser today or tomorrow.
I bought all the premiums available to me on the last day of the Pride update to have plenty of questlines to entertain me during the downtime, leaving me fairly low on donuts so I guess it’s time to crank up the ole collider and go bloodmobiling the next couple days before the extra stress on the servers. I have been fixated with a concept EA should consider to place in our game, bare with me.. A Shrinking event (probable a Mini event.. since it is about shrinking)
In Tree House Of Horror VII (second segment) “The Genesis Tub” (due to parallel-Frank’s “Debigilizer” which shrank Lisa and brought her into the tooth-tub) we should be able to store a select amount of buildings that we can still collect income from (perhaps at a fraction of the regular income), since I heard people complain about messy Springfield’s etc.
I liked this idea to the point that I consider writing a musing post but after talking to a therapist/shrink I figure I’d minimize the idea sharing to a small comment,
We may have bigger concerns right now but what if the Universe was just some space aliens science project?
Started thinking about my crisis playlist and realized that all I need right now is CSN&Y…
1) Almost Cut my Hair — Pandemic
2) Ohio — BLM
3) Helpless — overall situation
My 11 year old daughter helped out with decorating for the first time today. She made a good job of painting one of the big walls of her room without any major hiccups. We’ll do more tomorrow, but I’m very pleased so far with her work.

Keeping our social distance so that we don’t infect each other with this new social disease.
Brother, is this social dis-ease. Last month the car battery died because it hadn’t been run in weeks.
I dread arising at 5:00 am (at least the sun is up now at that time), donning my hazmat clothing, returning home and sanitizing my purchases, laundering my clothes and washing my body.
And with the recent uptick in infections (I’m thinking Mother’s Day and Memorial Day), we may be facing more time in isolation.
And with the recent mass gatherings that precluded Six Feet Distancing, the end of June may see another uptick.
Sigh.
I don’t mind isolating, rather it is the hassle it creates.

Back to the game, need to do some rearranging as some of my stuff doesn’t fit for sure where I have plunked it. Find that what we are getting
as prizes don’t really go with the theme of the game at that time.
Would really like to have Springfield Heights opened up. I have lots that I would like to move ouse there where it would fit in better.
I still find that I can’t click on to my friends pages all the time. I got one to one this morning for a first time in ages! It felt good as she has been In my town and I couldn’t reciprocate.

On Friday evening I attended my son’s middle school graduation. It was one of the weirdest sights anyone could imagine.
Due to social distancing requirements, it had to be held outside. So they held it in the parking lot.
My sin goes to a small school, there were 18 kids in the graduating class. To add on to that, the school is closing at the end of this school year. (Grades K to 7 will finish up in the next week or two).
Kids had to wear a mask, with the brief exception for some photo opportunities, and must keep a six foot distance. Each student as limited to two cars of people. Only the students were allowed out of the cars, with the exception of one parent at the time the student was receiving their diploma.
At the photo area, the sole 8th grade teacher stood 6 feet behind the student for photos.
Each student sat in a chair, briyght by the family, in front of the car. The care were parked in a big semi circle around a central stage where awards and diplomas were handed out.
After each student, the people in the cars would think and clap (yes the students were sitting right in front of those horns).
We elected not to honk in our son’s ear.
After, were not allowed to go out for photos. But we could come back at a later time.
It turns out that my son was the last one called to receive his diploma, making him the last graduate from this soon to be closed school.

The Yearbook Mystery Box is starting to get to me, or rather the irrationality of it. I can get a load of planes, I can’t get the airport. I can get Scratchy but not Itchy. For anybody who started playing the game after the first year it’s equal parts rewarding and frustrating. I’ll still delve in in between events, to get an extra mission or two, but I can’t help feeling it’s not been totally thought through when it comes to content.
It’s a bit of a strange lottery, the yearbook mystery box. Seem to keep getting same items coming round ( The ones I don’t want! ) Have had a few lucky strikes though getting the one I wanted for only 30 🍩
That’s how the mystery box works.
You will keep having the same items show up until you eventually purchase them all. Like others who have played this game for a few years, I emptied mine a while ago.
Whish EA would bring out some more stuff.
I just finished getting the items from the Yearbook Mystery box; until the next event begins, I’m only playing twice a day to collect land tokens.
Oh yes, absolutely! You can get firemen Apu & Homer but not the fire station…. Partly because I’m a volunteer firefighter myself that is the one building I’m hoping soooo much for to return. Would pay a lot of donut’s for it 😉
That’s where I think they’re missing a trick, put lots of planes in the Yearbook but offer the airport as a premium buy. Same with the firefighters, if you could get the entire crew in the Yearbook but could also buy the fire station for 300 donuts, for example, I’d probably lay down some cash instead of just KEM farming and I imagine I wouldn’t be alone.
