It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

I’m not a massive fan on the open air items like the arcade but I try to utilise them as best as possible.
It would be really helpful if the designers offered matching floor pieces and walls so we could close off the areas.
For some from previous events I have set them up as television studio sets. It would be super if the designers did a camera as an item in some future event to make it more obvious what I am doing.
It’s all because I need it to make sense in my head, which sounds ludicrous for a town that includes, aliens, monsters, dinosaurs etc.
Is anyone else having an issue with their characters being stuck in (completed) tasks even after you click on them? It just started for me today, but I tried uninstalling the game and when I went to re-download it, other people are complaining of the same issue in the google play store. If anyone has had any luck getting this issue fixed, please let me know!

Hope everyone is still staying safe. Cases of COVID-19 are declining in PA, but the virus is still out there. I am fine with the new Simpsons event. I like some of my games to be relaxing – but it still would be nice to see a change up for an event. It wouldn’t have to be more challenging.
Finished act 1 and have ages till act 2 starts??
This morning, my game never opened. The splash screen donut just kept spinning and spinning and spinning and…
Also: I’ve noticed that many things in my game don’t work even when the game opens. For instance, if I tap on the Yellow Submarine, nothing happens other than it emerges from the water. It doesn’t say that I received a new tile or that I did NOT receive a new tile.
However, if I go to the menu for visiting friends’ villages and then return to my village, it will always work.
I’ve been getting the spinning donut since at least Friday. I’ve cleaned unnecessary files, force stopped and restarted. Really don’t want to un/reinstall especially because I don’t think it’s my device but a server issue on EA’s end, it just usually doesn’t drag out this long. I wasn’t even to the first prize yet and had just turned on the collider. Sigh. Very frustrating.
I hit the currency max last week! Anyone got screenshots of the dialog (or can you type it out)? I missed it as I was trying to corral ‘God’ when it hit.

To my neighbors: I have the glitch where I will go to most towns, and there’s never anything to tap on. I’ve lost some really good neighbors like Kozzi, who probably think I’m ignoring them. I feel so bad Glenntanim11.. you visit me so often, but there’s never anything for me to click on in your town. Thank you for continuing to leave handshakes even though I can’t return the favor. I hope you see this.

I don’t care, I kind of like it. A few of my friends and I tag 1 building in each other’s towns every day.
Is anybody else having the same problem as me? – From the UK and keep having to re-download the game update every few hours I go back to check on my game. I use an iPhone. The update is 1800+ in size. Also, every time this happens, the game asks me to log back in again. I go to do this, and every time I fill in my details the first time, it does not seem to recognise me. I then have to exit the app and put my details in again before it will let me play. It then makes me download the 1800+ update again. This also happened when the last even launched for a few days, then seemed to stop bugging out. Why does this seem to happen every time a new update happens? It’s frustrating because I then get behind on the event calendar..

I’m fairly indifferent to the current TSTO event as I’m focussing on redesigning my original and larger of my 2 Springfields at the same time as mega donut farming and buying Mr Burns’ Mystery boxes to elevate my bonus %age.
Is anyone suffering the splash screen or is it just me. Can’t get into my game at all

I still play this game but only during events/mini-events and the occasional donut farm. I don’t bother reorganizing my town as I just don’t have the heart for it anymore. I used to login everyday (or whenever I could) since Xmas 2013 but no longer bother logging in after finishing an event. There also seems to be bug that if I don’t log in after being inactive for more than two days, then I have to reenter my password. Did I mention that the Bart Screen of Death is still around!
Too early to judge but this Game of Gamers event is turning out to be a huge dud. I have very low expectations as the multi-event formula as long ran its course. Prizes are largely underwhelming with costumes for characters that have enough alternate skins as it is. Also, there’s no sound yet the starting screen STILL has the bird chirping noise at the Splash Screen! I actually sped through donuts to finish the first act within the first two days as I don’t want to keep sending the SAME 4-7 characters on a task every 4-hrs. Normally, I only speed through if I have, for example, 105/125 event currency require to complete it. I did spend the donuts to get Strawberry (whoever that is). In terms of prize content, both the Black History and Wrestling multi-events were better. So far, the Wrestling event is the best mulit-event this year.
I miss the events that were more like the Stonecutters, Burns Casino, and Superheroes. I’ll try to hang on to Tapped Out as soon as the game finally decides to add a human skin for Maude.

I really like the look of the arcade pieces, but really wish they rotated (or had other pieces) that would let us enclose them on all 4 sides. Indoor items have been a “problem” forever, but the consistent awarding of set pieces/rooms as prizes is driving me nuts! Tap on, everyone!
If y’all are struggling with unlocking stuff in the event – I have a good strategy. Only do the amount of coins that you need (no more) and if you have some tasks left over for the event coins, wait five minutes, and then do them tasks.

Seriously I don’t think anyone should be struggling to complete this event. Very EAsy to finish well in time.

Me too. I hear it for half a second when the game starts but then it’s immediately cut off.
Im having ‘connect to server’ issues the past 2 days. I had to reinstall last night & looks like maybe again now. Not a happy camper!

I wish he did before I tried to figure out my taxes on my own today. That’s right June 14th and I just finished.

Based on the Deceased criteria, I gathered a list of Presidents who have been seen on the Simpsons as well (that are not yet in our game):
George H.W. Bush —- he had a full episode around him so would be the most popular choice, however I feel it might still be too soon before we see him.
Gerald Ford —— though he just had a small cameo at the end of the Episode, I can imagine a falling down animation task..
John F. Kennedy —- probably the most famous president from this list, he would be VERY interesting in regards to our current political and controversial times, and of course his Quimby connection could make some interesting dialog and storylines.
Harry S. Truman – and his Trillion Dollar Bill
And Lastly (bare with me),
The President of the United States in the remake film of “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington” , his look (top hat and monocle) along with his demise as a potential animation task might be a surprising option.
