Should I Spend Donuts On the Arcade Cabinets Wall or Arcade Cabinets?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Update time in Springfield!  Always nice to see new content in TSTO, as the latest event has hit our games.  Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Arcade Cabinets Wall or Arcade Cabinets to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these flashers to your town…

Building/Decoration: Arcade Cabinets Wall/ Arcade Cabinets
Donut Cost: 75 Donuts each
Size:
8×8 each
Earns:
Nothing.
Conform-O-Meter:
Wall- Indolence +20; Cabinets- Indolence +10
Can Be Placed:
grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt

This is the Cabinets Wall:

This is the Cabinets:

Leaves stores July 16th, 2020

The Rundown:
-No bonus % for 75 donuts, pretty crappy
-When you tap they change formation and appearance (like crowds do), but they don’t light up and there are no tasks there.
-Cabinets are free (prize track), once you unlock you can buy more in the store
-Cabinets wall is in the store from the start of the event
-Can buy multiples of each to build your own Arcade, allows for a lot of fun combinations because of the changing appearance when tapped.
-Currently, no tasks associated with either item
-Arcade Wall and Arcade Cabinets Wall fit nicely together to form your own arcade.

What Did I Do?:
They’re fun, but really not worth 75 donuts each.  I grabbed one of the Cabinets Wall to see what it did, but I don’t think I’ll be buying more.  Ultimately, I think this is neat in concept…bad in execution.

Thoughts on the Arcades?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed it in your town? Design plans?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

And feel free to share some photos of your design plan as well! If you need help (or a refresher) posting photos in the comments, check out this post

  1. (Off Topic)

For those of you who were upset because you were having problems with Login? Well, that wasn’t entirely EA’s fault (the Carriers – especially T-Mobile – were having temporary Network issues).

We learn as we get older that nothing is fullproof (there are times a Network is down for maintenance, or Mother Nature decides to intervene). I know that can be a pain – especially when you get home and WiFi is down.

So hang in there …. and hopefully Covid-19 is under control in your area.

  2. Does someone have the loading screen image without the tapped out logo? I think its a really cool design to use as a wallpaper on my phone.

No way. Too many donuts for something that just looks cool. It doesn’t actually do anything. I bought the bowling alley lane, but it’s not doing anything. Anyone know how to get the pin pals?

Cool, thanks! Ok, so I sent them for the task with the active running man in front of it, but I don’t see them bowling at the lane. What am I doing wrong? Perhaps I just didn’t wait long enough for them to get over to that area of my Springfield and start the task.

        • It dePends which task…Burns, Moe, and….uggg….drawing a blank on the third….Apu?…have a 4-hour task bowling at the lane (need three lanes to send all three), while I believe that, for Homer, it’s his 8-hour task.

        • Did the same I have the 4 🎳

  4. Since the Arcade Cabinets and Arcade Cabinets Wall each have 3 different looks, I plan on getting 3 of each one and putting either krustyland road or pavement underneath them for my arcade design. The Arcade Cabinets work well behind the arcade buildings and the E4 Convention Center since they look like you can see inside or behind the buildings. I’d say the corner one is better than the wall one just because the “Whack the Weasel” game also changes into an air hockey table plus the first one is “free”. I’m disappointed about the price, lack of tasks and animations, and bonus %.

One of the arcade games here is called Polybius which I’ve seen some comments mention it and after googling it, I wonder if Patric has heard of it and what he thinks about it, maybe something for his Friday Filler post.

  5. Hmmm. Today I’ve got the endless spinning donut and can’t get on… anyone else?

    • I had the problem since last week, finally caved today and un/reinstalled. A total pain but at least I got back in. Servers kicked me out as soon as I tried to collect on my Bloodmobiles. Guess that’s one way to put the challenge back in to TSTO.

      All day today

  6. I got 4 of each but only have 2 out because of the ITEM LIMIT, please do something about this or at least explain why it can’t be increased EA.

  7. Pass 👎🏻

The idea was interesting , but this looks like a Craftable from 2 years ago that EA now wants you to spend 🍩’s for (and – after spending time editing my Springfield – it gets a hard Nope from me!)

    No Bonus %
    No Character Tasks
    No thanks
    (blame Item Limits)

  8. I’m considering picking up a couple walls since I’m flush with donuts from farming. Item limits are an issue, however and I’m not a fan of this open room, stage set trend that’s become common with recent events.

  9. When you’ve got over 70,000 donuts you spend them on anything that’s available. I bought 4!

Has EA mentioned upping item limits recently?

    • I was thinking about asking if anyone knew of a limit on donuts. I reached the limit for $$ some time ago and am currently headed towards 50,000 donuts. Since you’re at 70,000, guess there isn’t a limit. At least I’m quite a ways from it if there is.

  10. I got a couple of the walls to attach on to the corner piece but don’t see the point in getting any more. If the game allowed you to rotate the cabinets to form a back facing corner so you line them up in a rectangle, it would be more useful, but I guess nothing in the game is really set up to do that.

  11. I also just bought one other. I like the look of them, but wish they would fit side by side better. Currently the second one only turns away from the first.
