Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

We’re in the home stretch of Game of Games 2, everything wraps up on Thursday.   Thoughts on the event?  Act 4? Favorite prize?  What do you think we’ll see next?

How’s your Springfield design coming?  What are you doing with your town? Share some photos in the comments below! (If you need a refresher on how to add photos to the comments check out this post)  and don’t forget Springfield Showoff this week! Get those submissions in by Wednesday evening,  details can be found here.

Stay safe, whatever that means to you. Just remember, we’re all in this together.

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! (Just no politics, it never ends well)  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. Hey gasboss 775! I sure did notice your changes. Your Springfield looks great 👍🏻 🍩 I’m trying to make a point of visiting my neighbours more. I used to be better at it. When I get the Bart screen it’s time consuming to go back in, but I keep on trying! Hope everyone is staying healthy and peaceful! I’m personally glad this event is almost over! I didn’t care for this one at all. I know it was at least something but other than premium pick ups there was nothing I wanted. Best part to me was Hugh Jass!! Happy Day Friends and Happy Tappin

  2. Do we think the game is on its last legs? I’ve started playing again today after two(maybe longer) years away. and don’t want to get invested if it going to be pulled soon?

  3. Hi there. I just got an email from origins for EA account that my password was reset. I tried logging in and Simpsons just donut spins. Anyone else get an origin email or is this phishing?? I know lots of problems logging in lately. I did not click the link in the email. Thanks for any feedback

    • Try going directly to EA’s website and resetting your password. Don’t click any links on that email you received, wait until you request a password reset direct from the website

  4. Hi tappers, I must admit I have lost interest in all my games I play especially tsto, 💤💤😴

  5. Hi tappers,

Who else has this problem? In the last 2 weeks ea logged me out of my account and I can’t log in anymore, it just says, can’t log in due to error. I reinstalled and it worked again. Today it happened again. So bored of downloading 1.8 GB for the game each time.

    • Try a new password. This worked for me earlier this past week.

      • Thanx to u too! I always can count on ur name popping up! Sorry ive been having a hard time getting around! Totally there in spirit!!!

    • Steve, I have had this happen to me a few times. My solution was .. (iPhone) to double click on the home button on my phone.. and remove all the background cache ..(swipe upwards) Not sure how an android device clears the background cache.. Then go and restart the game. You should get the logo screen and if you have to log in it will not go to the log in error and log you back into EA and start the game.
This happened to me the other day and I did what I explained.. logged in fine, game came up.. been having no issues since.

  6. Always thankful to my neighbors who make the effort to visit me especially since it seems that you can only tag the 4 buildings. Cleaning it up makes me smile. Thanks ❤️ Stay safe. We 🇨🇦 are worried for you.

  7. Happy Sunday to all 👍🏻
I suppose if another Season of The Simpsons is coming …. it will by September? 🤔

I hope all are staying Safe 🌞
(Masks + Sanitizer + Social Distance where applicable …. or remain safe at home – I don’t want anyone catching covid-19).

Will visit Neighboreenos Monday if TSTO let’s me (even on a fast network at 3 am I still get a Bart Simpson Screen 🙄 ).

If you were furloughed / temporarily lost employment, I hope you are back to work soon!

🌮 time with the Mrs and 🐈’s (yay Sundays!)

  8. They should make Angry Dad a playable character! This is could be part of a new event. We already have several Homers running around, where’s the harm in another?

Are you paying attention EA?? ANGRY DAD !! ❤️

    • I’ve always wanted a Father’s Day Mini Event (Angry Dad would work in that sort of Event) 👍🏻

  9. After almost 7 years of playing Tapped Out (I’ve played since Xmas 2013), it’s time for me to retire from playing it any further. I unlocked the final prizes of this act days ago and had sent all my characters (over 400 of them) on their 24 hr tasks. I’ve also maxed out my in-game cash and have over 5000 donuts I’ve played many good Tablet apps throughout the time, such as Clash of Clans, Hay Day, My Talking Tom, Marvel Clash of Champions, Best Fiends, Candy Crush, to name a few, yet Tapped Out was the one that I seemed to stick around on my Android as I rarely uninstall it.

Throughout my experiences, Tapped Out has seen its highs (Stonecutters, Superheroes, Burns Casino, etc) and lows (Easter 2014, the Harry Potter Halloween event, Bart Royale). But these past two years, the game has become so stale with these multi-events. None of them really stand out! Even the awful major events I mentioned earlier had put some effort put into them. With these multi-events, it’s the same old-same old: Send Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and 3-4 other characters (not counting the spotlight premiums) on a 4-hour task every four hours. Rather Rinse Repeat. Yawn. I have gotten so bored that I sped though the events with donuts. There was a time where I would login to the game every 4 hrs and not be bored but those days are long gone. You’d think with donut farming that it would help me become more invested in the game. In some ways it has, but other times not so much. The Bart Screen of Death and the rather slow loading time during the splash screen has really broken my spirit. I know my Samsung Galaxy Tab A Tablet is about 4-5 years old but it still functions correctly. I save as much space as possible as I will admit that this app tends to be a memory hogger on my tablet (which has 8 GB).

This Gamer of Gamers multi-event has been horribly boring and is probably the worst of all the multi-events. The prizes are lame (apart from the Premium stuff) and I wasn’t interested in the story. I didn’t even know it was a sequel to an earlier game-themed multi-event. I understood why the Superheroes event was well-received and received a sequel event but not the first Gamer of Games one. Despite my growing boredom of the game, I was going to keep on playing as much as I could and hoped that Maude Flanders’ human form (preferably as a alternate skin for her Ghost form currently in the game) would finally come to the game. But it appears that I don’t expect to see human Maude or a major overhaul on the major events anytime soon. In addition, the recent issues that many players have with this game have yet to be resolved (Item Limit increase, Springfield Heights land expansion, better neighbor interaction, that bird noise that is STILL heard during the splash screen, a better Town Census, the aforementioned Bart Screen, etc). Even EA themselves have slowly given up on Tapped Out. Not to the point that they would actually delete the app but they won’t actually try to improve the game. It will be multi-event after multi-event until otherwise.

Despite my recent criticism of Tapped Out, I do credit this game for reviving my interest in the Simpsons. Being a classic Simpsons fan from season 1 up to the early Al Jean era (s13-16 & the 2007 Movie), I had not watched a new episode regularly in nearly 15 years though were exceptions like the Lego episode and the Futurama crossover. (Anyone familiar with “Dark Simpsons” on YouTube? Better than any modern Simpsons episode though not for the faint of heart.) I have visited several Tapped Out blogs (including this one) that have helped me how to advance in this game, from the regular people who post articles to the folks that add comments. Helpful tips such as the calendars during major events, buying certain items to increase XP bonus until EA ended up fixing them with a patch, and, of course, donut farming. Had I not learned about donut farming, I would had likely given up on the game much earlier. Mind you, I had spend real money (about $50 total) on this game.

Farewell TSTO and the TSTO community. Be Safe!

    • Sorry to see you go! But, your thoughts are all valid…

    • You will be missed, your constructive criticism is on point (if your Samsung Tablet is using an old Android OS like 4.4 Kit Kat – yeah that’s going to lessen what Apps are available from Google Play), yes TSTO does take up a chunk of space (thank goodness the new Samsung Tablets are cheap with 3Gigs RAM 64Gigs ROM running Android 9 Pie with a 10 update next month) and yes I’m always sorry to see Long Time Tappers go 😌

  10. Happy Sunday all. I’ve got ribs smoking on the grill, throwing on some burgers and a little okra for dinner. Now, what the hell happened to 4th of July promo. Yeah I know I’m a week late, but that just was a big FU from EA. Hope everyone is well and staying healthy.

  11. I guess when one reaches 3 billion or more with in game cash, you no longer get the option to exchange Krustyland tickets for cash The Exchange button disappears and you only get the Krust-O-Meter.

    • MangoFusion01

That’s what I have noticed too. You still have the tickets. But at that point, do you need the cash?

  12. Happy Sunday kiddies!
Was able to visit a handful of my neighbors before being booted yesterday. I try and try!
Thanks to you guys that loyally still visit my town!!! Makes me smile to see you there!💙
Hope all are well! We’re all good on my end. Never know what’s around the corner! Can’t live in fear dammit!
    Stay safe everyone!!!!❤🌞😎

  13. I know everything has been crazy since March with the the pandemic keeping little ones home and all. That being said, I’ve noticed that there hasn’t been an Addicts Live since March. I’ve (and I’m sure many others) missed you guys. Any plans to do an episode in the near future?

  14. Stay safe Tracy! 🙏

  15. Got the dreaded
How Old Are You!? Please Log In Screen.
    Oh well, minor issue.
In the mean time, keep your eyes and ears open and fingers crossed. Martinez, California is about to be invaded by BLM and Counter BLM.
All of downtown is boarded up — one good thing about this Covid-19
Minimal impact on the clientele- ain’t nobody patronizing restaurants anyway. And it stimulating the economy. I saw on the news reports on TV ….
.PLYWOODS-R-US — we board up your windows
Or some such thing. A fellow actually has a business of boarding up windows. American Enterprise and Capitalism at its best
Luckily, we are at the far end of town, quiet pocket, no reason for any agitators to even come our way.
As we used to say in the ‘60s — pray for peace.

    • Geeeeez! Stay safe! Hope it all goes ok and no one gets hurt!!!❤

      • About 500 came. Whether they gathered on the court house steps above the BLM mural out of respect for the mural or to keep the closed off street clear is irrelevant. They walked a block, stopped, chanted and espoused. And repeated the process until they reached the Park where a flatbed truck was parked. Again speeches were delivered and their concerns were expressed. One or two counter protesters interacted with individuals, but no gun toting counter protesters.
Calm, peaceful and no damage to our small town.
Main Street is six blocks long and there are two streets that parallel main.

Despite the 100 degree weather, all was calm — and LOTS of local TV and even National TV coverage.
To me, a very successful demonstration March.

  16. Happy Sunday everyone
