Game of Games the Sequel Event is Nearing the End…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just a reminder that the Game of Games 2 Event Ends TOMORROW July 16th.

It’s been a long ride but it’s finally time for Game Over.

As far as questlines go, what’s happened in the past is that the current prize you’re working on (on any questline) you were able to finish.  Once that current prize was completed then the questline disappeared.

This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.

As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.

Also, It’s EA so who the heck knows…

Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…

  • Questlines linked directly to the progression of the event will go. Like the Main Questline that pulled you through all 4 Acts. (unless you’ve started one, any questlines started you’ll be able to finish that part one the event ends)
  • However, the questlines linked directly to the prizes and Premium Characters you’ve won will remain. (so Lady Milhouse, Cleric Marge, Hugh Jass, etc.)
  • The event removal will likely require an app store update to fully remove it from your game.  So don’t panic when the timer runs down and the event isn’t out of your game (or the splash screen remains the same)…  It may require an app store update to remove everything.

I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of the collection as far as you can. However, with the last few events, EA has really shut off the ability to play on “borrowed time”.  In other words, once the timer runs out the ability to collect prizes ends.  So don’t count on getting any extra time with this one.  Try to finish everything up before the timer runs out tomorrow morning.

So finish up those questlines, relax, and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.

Oh and a reminder…don’t forget Springfield Showoff!  Submissions for your event designs should be emailed (TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com) by tonight.  So please be sure to send them in! 🙂

Are you sad to see the event go?  Or ready for it to finally be over?  How did you do with the prizes?  Get everything you wanted?  What are you hoping to see next?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Some pros and cons I was originally going to add in the musings post for the Game of Games The Sequel post.
    Pros:
*Some decent buildings like Captain Blip’s Zapateria, Bart’s Moon Mansion, Springfield Multicultural Center, and Palm Springfield Resort.
*Great and memorable new characters with great questlines and tasks.
*Good costumes with funny questlines and tasks.
*Some okay decorations like the Crowd of Cosplayers, Arcade Cabinets, and PaDubba the Dubsteppa.
*30m and 2h permanent, quest and event tasks for characters which is a change to a lot of 4 hour tasks in previous events.
*Bowling Lanes were re-released since hey haven’t been available for the last 3 years.

    Pro/Cons:
*Prize tracks layouts were changed around (like in the first Game of Games event); instead of having a decoration or building as the first prize and a costume or character as the final prize, it was mostly different in all 4 acts with the exceptions of a token being the final prize and a building being the first prize in Acts 1 and 3. Sometimes a great prize was awarded early on and a lackluster prize was awarded towards the end of the prize tracks.
*Mystery box items were mostly items from the first GoG event and a few items already available in the yearbook.
*Mystery box tokens available to buy in the store to unlock more items from the mystery box. The cost of the tokens was really high between 70 to 280 donuts for 1-5 tokens.
*Milo being The Game Master which was disappointing to those who don’t have Milo and Coolsville since it meant they had to spend donuts to use a prize. It was also neat for a character to help in an event (Coolsville generated the crafting currency in the Superheroes 2 event in 2016 and Milo didn’t help at all).
*Hugh Jass or Palm Springfield Resort didn’t help in the event at all which is different to all the new premium characters and costumes in an event earning event currency, it wasn’t much of a disappointment since 3 other premium characters earned event currency.

    Cons:
*Event was 5 weeks long which could’ve been better if it was 4 weeks or if there was either: (a). an act 5. (b). an extra prize or 2 with the 5 prizes per act. (c). slightly higher currency total requirements.
*Not many arcade items to build an arcade themed area since some of the items look like they should’ve been released in other events, e.g. Space Simulator in the Deep Space Homer event, Bart’s Moon Mansion and Frinkiac 7 in the Sci-Fi event.
*Sound and freezing issues which haven’t been fixed but Wall E. Weasel’s got fixed in a matter of days.
*No different background music was used in the event since the first GoG had a different soundtrack (EA could’ve just used that soundtrack in this event).
*No new characters were available as prizes in the event since it was mostly costumes and decorations.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad event but it wasn’t great either since I think more could’ve been done with it since I think it should’ve had more arcade or game related items like arcade machines from the show being released as separate decorations, a minigame similar to the dig sites or the Claw Machine with a chance to win a prize. I give the event a B/C grade.

  2. I actually finished the entire thing a couple of days early. That NEVER happens and it’s down to EA keeping the points low. I didn’t have to earn 500 points for a decoration. (But I did have to get a costume for a character I don’t have? Harrumph.) The writing was funny, too. I give this one a solid A-.

  3. so I took a break on this game in the Corona times, around the beginning of the wrestlers event. Now I began again but I noticed that I couldn’t see the characters from the events after the wrestlers in the character collections? Is this something they changed in the last month or is something bugged in my game?

  4. So, I’ve completed the 4 questlines. However, my TSTO keeps telling to hurry because the event ends soon. And I haven’t earned the Game Master character to complete that Game of Games collection ( I think that’s what the collection is called).

Can anyone verify that this is normal? The game keeps telling you to hurry up even if you’ve finished all 4 questlines? Also, how do you earn the Game Master as a character?

    Thanks.

Just how many sequels are better than the original?

Let’s make a distintiction between sequels and planned serials such as the hunger games.

  6. Did anyone’s quest just end early? Mine just disappeared completely from my game.

    • I am actually experiencing the exact opposite in that I finished the final quest a few days ago already, but the ‘event controller’ (not sure what its real name is, I’m talking about the info box in the top right corner that lists the quest progress) is still there and I even got a reminder that the event will end tomorrow. If I’m not completely mistaken, in previous events it instantly disappeared as soon as I had finished the last quest.

  7. I finished the event a couple of days ago, was disappointed with the last prize, thought there may be a quest with it
