Addicts Bracket Challenge: Most Desired Real Life Celebrity, Week 2

It was six years ago, just after the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs bracket was complete that I thought it might be cool to do a The Simpsons Tapped Out bracket. Here we are in the oddest of NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs of all times due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and it’s time for our sixth TSTO Addicts Bracket Battle!

How much longer EA can keep Tapped Out going is up for debate. But what isn’t debatable is that there have been A LOT of incredible guest stars appearing as themselves in the rich history of The Simpsons universe. A rare few of these (like Stephen Hawking and Weird Al) have made their way into our games. However, hundred are still not in our little game. There is so much in fact, that it was hard just to narrow it down to 64 entries to start with. I thought of making the Bracket Battle start with 128 entries, but we’d be battling well into fall. With that in mind, we present to you TSTO Addicts’ Most Desired Real Life Celebrity Bracket Battle.

For rules and regulations, check out the Week 1 post here.

In the Singers (Female) category, Lady Gaga (83%) destroyed Judith Owen (17%).

In the Actors (Female) category, Lucy Lawless (79%) defeated Gal Gadot (21%).

In the Authors/Journalists category, J.K. Rowling (64%) defeated Bill James (36%).

In the Scientists/Activists/Entrepreneurs/Politicians category, Elon Musk (78%) defeated Mark Zuckerberg (22%).

  1. A note to Safi regarding this year’s Bracket Battle: You said that there have been so many real life celebrities that have appeared in “The Simpsons” universe that you had th narrow it down from 128 entries to 64 entries. Well, for next year’s Bracket Battle, you could consider doing a second Bracket Battle for Most Desired Real Life Celebrity that includes all of the real life celebrities who did not make the cut into this year’s Bracket Battle. It’s just a thought.

Anyway, I didn’t know about the Bracket Battle sooner, otherwise I would have tried to vote on it during week 1. With that in mind, these are the celebrities that I would have definitely voted during week 1: Lady Gaga (even though I’m not a fan of her, I strongly think that EA should have added her to the game during the Homerpalooza 2017 event); Lucy Lawless (especially if she dressed as Xena); Elon Musk (I even have an idea for a major TSTO event that I think would be perfect for adding him to the game because it would tie in with how he is portrayed on “The Simpsons” TV show); & Mr. T (only because I would prefer him over his Week 1 Bracket Battle opponent). I have no preference on the other week 1 celebrities, so my votes for them probably would have been random.

For my voting choices for Bracket Battle Week 2, I’m only choosing Bette Midler, Carmen Electra, & Amy Tan because, in my opinion, I think that they are the better of the two choices for each of their respective categories, but I otherwise have no preference. The week 2 celebrities that I am definitely voting for are: Tony Blair; Sting; Mark Hamill (preferably dressed as Luke Skywalker); Tony Hawk & Chuck Liddell, respectively (although I will be specifically voting for Tony Hawk in this year’s Bracket Battle, Chuck Liddell is nearly tied with Tony Hawk for my vote because I want both of those two celebrities to be added to TSTO); & Betty White (mainly because I really liked that scene at the end of the fictional PBS telethon where she says, “And remember kids ….” followed by Elmo ominously saying, “Elmo knows where you live!”).

I wish that we had a third & fourth voting option in these bracket battle polls so that we can choose to vote for only one of the opponents, for both opponents at same time (as a tied vote for both opponents), or for neither of the opponents (as a tied vote against both opponents). I say this because of my statement in my previous paragraph indicating that I want to vote for both Tony Hawk and Chuck Liddell, but I’m only being allowed to vote for one of those two.

  2. Mick vs Sting? Opie Cunningham vs Luke? ARGH! 🙂 Thanks for doing this!

  3. I wonder, did I miss David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as Mulder and Scully or was that not included to begin with? Because that’s a pair of celebrities I would LOVE to see in Tapped Out.

    • unfortunately they were not eligible as they appeared as Mulder and Scully, and not as David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. This list only included those celebrities who appeared as themselves.

  4. Thanks for taking time and putting this together. I always enjoy them.

  5. Safi, just out of curiosity I tried voting twice, but for the other candidate. Will both votes be counted or have I committed a cardinal win and will be shunned by the TSTO community?

  6. My Votes (and no I’m not betting for who wins, this isn’t a Sports Books – lol!)

Soooo many Celeb Characters we still don’t have in TSTO (sooo moments with them on The Simpsons to look back on – thanks Safi!) 😀👍🏻

  7. Not fair to pit Bob Hope against Betty White! Both are icons! 🥰

  8. Can’t imagine it can get much harder than Bob Hope v Betty White…love these brackets!!

  9. Can we all just agree that Betty White will win everything?

  10. Richard Hanlon

I would love to hear mick screem “Simpson!” Or hear snake screem ” See you hell Midler!”. Or have rock n roll band camp. Even better krusty and Midlar sing together.

  11. After all these years today I learned that Bob Hope really did appear on the Simpsons. Also I really need a “Benny Hill” running task for Helen Fielding.
