Should You Buy Muscular Milhouse?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well, spending actual cash on donuts for a character is back in TSTO.  This is something EA’s been rolling out over the last few years, and it’s a new bonus for actually spending cash on donuts. (instead of just farming them)  Where they attach a premium, limited-time, character to one of the donut bundles in addition to bonus donuts.

This time around we’re being offered Muscular Milhouse,  a premium character (NOT a costume), for a truckload of 300 Donuts ($19.99 in the US)..no bonus this time around.  While it’s hard for me to sit here and tell you if you should or shouldn’t spend actual cash on the game (spoiler, I think you should always spend at least a small amount…even if it’s $.99/year on the game if it brings you joy and you want to see it continue) I thought I’d do a quick breakdown of Muscular Milhouse, his tasks, questline and other details you may be curious about.

So let’s consider this an abbreviated Should I Buy….

So what is the deal?  When you can find it in the Currency Tab of your Store (also by hitting Get More)…

Basically spend $19.99 on a Truckload of 300 donuts and you get the Muscular Milhouse character.

And yes, for those outside of the US I know my price is probably lower than yours.  EA only charges 19.99 USD for this package…anything over that that you are currently paying goes to Google/Apple/Amazon for Tax and Duty etc.  EA only collects the 19.99.

So, personally, I think this is a terrible deal.  $19.99 is WAY to much to pay for a character, especially a one-off character.  EA needs to have these back at $9.99, a much better deal then. (or throw a building/decoration in with this one)

So here’s a breakdown on Muscular Milhouse…

-Full character for Springfield
-NOT voiced
-Comes with a complete set of tasks
-Comes with a questline
-Some fun visual/animated tasks
-Will not earn event currency
-All of indoor tasks take place at the Gyms or Brown House
-Visual tasks are 4 and 8hrs

Here’s a look at the task list

Muscular Milhouse’s Permanent Tasks…

The Hardest Place to Add Mass Pt. 1
Muscular Milhouse starts

Muscular Milhouse: Work those legs! Crunch those abs! Gun those lattes! Double check that thesaurus! Gun those lats!
Make Muscular Milhouse Gun His Lats- 4hrs

The Hardest Place to Add Mass Pt. 2
Muscular Milhouse starts

Duffman: Hey there, chicken legs.
Muscular Milhouse: Who you calling chicken legs?!
Duffman: Why you, of course. Pencil neck. Dough butt. Rubber teeth. All these insults apply to you. Oh yeah!
Muscular Milhouse: How can I ever earn the respect of a famous beer mascot like you?
Duffman: Have you considered calf implants?
Muscular Milhouse: Implants? Pfft, no one actually does those.
Duffman: How do you think I got these puppies?
Muscular Milhouse: Are they calves or puppies?
Duffman: I’m gonna add “donkey brain” to the list of insults. Oh yeah!
Make Muscular Milhouse Ogle Duffman’s Calves- 4hrs
Make Duffman Model His Artificial Calves- 4hrs
Muscular Milhouse: Wow. I never would have suspected those were fake.
Duffman: So are my abs, pecs and shoulders. Duffman is sixty percent implants. Oh yeah!
Muscular Milhouse: Who did you go to?
Duffman: Duffman went to Dr. Nick. Duffman’s calves look great, but they’re made of Playdough.
Muscular Milhouse: Playdough, huh? I think I’ll give Dr. Hibbert a call.

The Hardest Place to Add Mass Pt. 3
Muscular Milhouse starts

Dr. Hibbert: Ah, well if it isn’t little Milhouse.
Muscular Milhouse: Who you callin’ little?!
Dr. Hibbert: Easy, Milhouse. I’m guessing you’re experiencing irrational irritability because of testosterone injections. And that you’re here for more testosterone injections. *chuckles*
Muscular Milhouse: What? No, I’m here for calf implants. I need to get swole.
Dr. Hibbert: Oh, that’s not really something I’d recommend for a seventeen-year-old, no matter how irrational or irritable.
Muscular Milhouse: I am not irrational! Or Irritable! And I just turned eighteen!! I’ve had like twenty birthday parties!!!
Make Muscular Milhouse Go on a Rampage- 8hrs

The Hardest Place to Add Mass Pt. 4
Muscular Milhouse starts

Muscular Milhouse: Eh, what’s the point. All this destruction isn’t going to embiggen my calves. Although I did just TOTALLY blast my quads!
Apu: Excuse me, exceptionally muscular boy-sir. I couldn’t help but notice that you are very good at handling trash cans.
Muscular Milhouse: You want me to take the garbage out at the Kwik-E-Mart?
Apu: No, I want you to protect it from would-be attackers. But if you could take out the garbage, that would be nice too.
Muscular Milhouse: Would-be attackers? You mean like robbers with guns?
Snake: Nobody move! This is totally a stickup.
Apu: Ah, yes. Mr. Snake. Right on time. And speaking of a stickup, I have hired this muscle-bound manchild to shove this stick up your—
Muscular Milhouse: Enough! You picked the wrong Kwik-E-Mart on the wrong day. Leg day!
Make Muscular Milhouse Weakly Kick Snake- 4hrs
Snake: Yo was that a joke, chicken legs? That kick was slower than Wiggum’s response time. It was thinner than Duff Lite. It was weaker than—
Muscular Milhouse: I get it, you’re not impressed. Moving on.

The Hardest Place to Add Mass Pt. 5
Muscular Milhouse starts

Muscular Milhouse: There’s got to be someone in this town that needs my muscles.
Fat Tony: I could use someone like you.
Muscular Milhouse: You could?
Fat Tony: Yes indeed. In my line of work, we can always use muscle. It’s even its own job description.
Muscular Milhouse: What do you need?
Fat Tony: Well, you see, some associates of mine are tired from lugging around my…area rugs. I need to hire someone to help share the load… Preferably someone with an alibi for Tuesday night. You interested?
Muscular Milhouse: Am I! I love a good rug. It really brings the room together.
Make Muscular Milhouse Throw “Rugs” Over the Bridge- 4hrs
Fat Tony: Excellent work. I hope those rugs learned their lesson to always pay back what they owe. Plus the 125% vig.
Muscular Milhouse: Uh, speaking of payment?
Fat Tony: Of course. I am now in your debt. Should you ever need any services performed by anyone unwilling to perform them, I can provide irrefutable elements of persuasion.
Muscular Milhouse: Meaning?
Fat Tony: You need anybody leaned on, just ask.

The Hardest Place to Add Mass Pt. 6
Muscular Milhouse starts

Dr. Hibbert: Well, Milhouse. Thanks to Fat Tony, you have your new calf implants, and my access to black market stimulants has been restored.
Muscular Milhouse: Thanks, Doc. After I tore up your office I thought you’d never do that operation for me.
Dr. Hibbert: Oh, I didn’t do the operation.
Dr. Nick Hey, everybody!
Muscular Milhouse: Hey, Dr. Nick.
Dr. Nick: Now stay off those legs for at least two weeks! Just enough time for the Playdough to harden and for you to binge watch Liger Queen.
Make Muscular Milhouse Watch TV- 4hrs
Kent Brockman: Tonight, on Eye on Springfield: Are muscular men more attractive to women? In a recent poll, a shocking 95% of women say they can’t stand muscular calves on a man.
Muscular Milhouse: Noooooo!
Kent Brockman: In other news, Playdough announced the recall of a toxic batch of its signature product…The announcement was made at the Springfield Factory — shown here as local toddler Maggie Simpson floats helplessly above…

That’s pretty much it on Muscular Milhouse.  A premium character for Springfield.  He’s fun, and if you’re looking to complete your future kit, he’s worth adding to your Springfield.

What are your thoughts on the Muscular Milhouse?  Have you purchased him?  Will you purchase him? Thoughts on the questline and tasks?  Sound off below you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I have Muscular Milhouse already, but it appears that I can buy him again with a truck load of doughnuts. I’m assuming this is a big?

  2. I buy it but I become Donuts and not Milhouse. What I should do?

  3. I don’t have a bonus character with my truckload of 300 donuts so couldn’t get muscular millhouse if I wanted to

  4. I’m from the UK and my tapped out game doesn’t have the truck load of doughnuts on it and the character isn’t any where else, is anyone else having this problem?

  5. I paid money for a golden Scratcher on accident and never received it. So unless it’s something absolutely amazing I probably won’t give them any more money. I love the game, but they have too many bug! Game also finally let me sign on since yesterday a few minutes ago, was wondering if anyone else had problems last night too.

  6. No Cross-Tattoo on his chest?
That was the only thing funny I found about this (version of a) character from the original episode.

    nope.
    Pass

  7. I will not spend real money on this game again unless they fix the issue with being unable to turn off sound.

  8. Despite the donut farming, I like giving some now and then to help the game. But $19.99 is too much for my budget, and you are right – character not near worth it.

  9. Give us our game back EA & quit this sham we have at the moment, then maybe folks will start spending at least some money again.

  10. I wouldn’t buy it even if they added an outdoor action spoof of
    “SIDE CHESTOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!”

  11. I wholeheartedly agree with the need to occasionally pay real money to support the game, but the price point for this is just too high. I’m sure there would have been a lot of buyers if it was only $2.99.

  12. Hahahahahahahahaaaaaah! No way I’ll spend any more real dinero until the item limit is significantly increased. Also, open up the rest of the land squares on the Springfield Heights side and maybe expand the ocean. BTW, in the good old days, I’d happily shell out for premium content during every event and randomly buy scratch offs.

  13. Absolutely not! 👎🏻

Even as a completist, I will go without one Van Houten Character, because I join every Tapper – long-term, brand new – that feels the only way EA is ever going to get real 💸 from me again is if they:

    1 increase Item Limits
2 make available the Land adjacent to Springfield Heights
    3 change Event Format(s)
4 fix Loading / Login Screen
5 improve their Network (doesn’t have to be available 24 hours, 7 days a week – but give us an in Game App warning whenever the Network is going down for maintenance, and for how long it will be down).

There is probably more to be added to that, but it is obvious EA is putting such little effort now into fulfilling its contractual obligation for The Simpsons intellectual property! You don’t get Simpsons Fans💰 anymore until necessary changes are done to the Game App! 🙄

    • Let’s just pretend that EA got their “act” together, I would be willing to spend a few dollars 3 or 4 times a year if EA were to offer up an additional act in 3 or 4 events. That additional act would be a pay to play and would offer up unique content that is not available to other players for say, a period of 2 years.

      So I’m short

      1) get act together
      2) for 3 or 4 events a year, add an additional pay to play act with unique content that is exclusive for a period of time.

The question is, what does get your “act” together mean. I think you have many of the requirements in your post, there might be. A few others that other readers can come up with.

Anyone else have ideas to “save” the game?

      • I’ve spent $100 over almost 8 years of Tapping …. I’d easily spend the most during Halloween Events ….. but I quit spending during Xmas 2018.

Not 1 💸 spent in Game App since and it truthfully would take EA getting their scheis together before I ever spend another 💸 (I think everything I mentioned would do it, I’d even pay flat $9.99 fee just to get everything fixed / improved and have it stay that way until this Game App is done).

The day EA threatens to shut down this Game App is the day Team Disney Burbank probably has the rights back to create their Game App of The Simpsons (and I shudder to think what rubbish Disney will make us pay for – lol!)

Honestly? I wouldn’t mind if EA went back to their console / pc games for The Simpsons, did a nice remaster for all of them, then release them all as a package deal (they created some silly, but fun, Simpsons games before creating a mobile Game App). 😀👍🏻

  14. He’s just not worth it to me. I’m in Canada which makes him around 27.99 plus tax. Easy pass for me. I bought the Witch, Jebediah Springfield and the Shelbyville Manhattan. I’m happy I own them and have no problem putting some money in the game but this one is not worth a real money purchase to me. I would have definitely picked him up if he was say…75 donuts. Happy Day Friends and Happy Tappin 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩

    • Yeah even I would have just spent 75 🍩’s (he doesn’t even need to be a Character Combo, provided he has Character Tasks at the Van Houten House, Springfield Elementary, YMCA, etc – practically everywhere else Millhouse goes as a Character in Game App – clever Visual Tasks are a must!)

    • Wish I was in Canada, there’s a bear sanctuary I would like to volunteer in, also I would love to see the Rockies and work on the trains 😀

  15. I’m torn… one the one hand EA may be doing this to see if they can still make any money off the game to gauge how long it’s worth continuing, but as Alissa says, it’s not a good deal price wise… adding it to the $9.99 price point would have been more in line with the value of the item.

I’ll probably wait and see how I feel as the event winds up, I don’t need the donuts, but do want the game to continue…

    • I agree, it feels like if no-one buys, we’re speeding the demise of the game, but if many people do buy, it’ll be a temptation to EA to charge for more characters and items, rather than to fix things.

If it was 9.99 of our UK Pounds, I’d probably buy, but 19.99 is a lot for not much – I might succumb by the end of the event, but I won’t feel guilty if I don’t….

  16. I would have at one time too, but now I have more donuts & cash than I’ll ever use. item limit is ridiculous

  17. Back in the day I would have bought everything the game has to offer but with just over 4000 donuts in my town from a combination of farming and the last black Friday I’m going to pass on this because I don’t think Ea deserve my money until they start doing fun events again.

  18. I ain’t buying it… not this time… Milhouse was never a favorite of mine… and his alterations… if it comes out later on a mystery box then i’ll get him then… Thnx for the Details on the character 🙂

  19. Here in Alberta Canada.. it’s 27.99 plus 5% GST (goods and services tax)
So 29.39. Other provinces will be higher because they have GST and PST (provincial sales tax) so depending on the PST.. it would be 31.63 or higher.
So.. it’s a pass for me.. since I have over 76K in donuts already.

    • I’d consider this if Jebediah Springfield was still part of the deal, 19.99 is far too much for just one character with a limited quest line! Besides, I’m sure some of the limited time ones (at least Sven Golly) have reappeared as standard premium purchases/mystery box prizes (please correct me if I’m wrong!)

      • krustoferson123

I got Sven Golly and the Witch, can’t remember where but it certainly WAS NOT when they originally came out and I did NOT pay real $$$ for them

  20. I farm donuts so I have everything else the game game has ever had to offer, it would have to be something big and very very special to make me want to spend real money and this sadly is not, like many others the one thing this game game needs is increased item limits…!!

    • If I had the option in Game App to pay a one-time $9.99 fee to:

      1. Unlock that Land adjacent to Springfield Heights
      2. Increase Item Limits

      I would pay up 💸

Thia is about 1/3 of the problems solved (we still got the Login / Load Screen issue and Tappers shouldn’t have to pay for EA being L-EA-Z-Y with that!)

  21. My game shows it at $27.99, not $19.99?

  22. I bought it, just to support the game. Been playing everyday for almost 7 years.

  23. krustoferson123

What other characters have been available before besides Jebediah Springfield and Shelbyvile Manhattan?

    • Those are the always ones. Beyond that they’ve had limited time ones with events. Sven Golly, the Witch, among others…

      • Evil Shopkeeper Bundle purchase offer – and that’s one Character I probably will never own, because I already have the House of Evil Shop (but I don’t have the Talking Krusty Doll) 🤔
