Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Who’s ready to finally get those gosh dang Van Houtens out of their lives?! Act 4 is finally here, the final Van Houten Act, almost time to kick this event to the curb.
Remember, this is the FINAL Act of Van Houtens. So this, and all other Acts, will leave our games on September 16th (next Wednesday). So finish up all the prize tracks before they’re gone for good!
Things kick off for Act 4 with some dialogue between the kids of Springfield Elementary…
Jimbo: Hey, Milhouse. What’s your hat size? I wanna get you a cap just like mine.
Milhouse: Why don’t you just give me yours?
Jimbo: That’s a great idea! This is gonna be your best birthday party this week!
Bart: Unbelievable. Milhouse is friends with Jimbo now? Every time I try to make him uncool, he ends up even cooler.
Database: Excuse me, Superfriend, if you’re done monologuing, it’s your turn to roll the dodecahedron.
Bart: *sigh* Okay here goes.
Database: Gack! That’s the icosahedron! Bart, get your head in the game!
Bart: Look, the only reason I agreed to play Dungheaps and Doofuses with you guys is because you’re the only ones left who can’t get into Milhouse’s dumb birthday parties.
Database: Actually, we hacked the app and acquired a reservation to tonight’s late seating.
Bart: Of course you did.
This triggers the Act 4 questline, The Van Houten Curse, and is followed by 4hr tasks for Bart and Database, as well as a task to collect Act 4 Currency (155). The Van Houten Curse is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of this Act’s prizes.
Let’s take a look at what else is in store during Act 4…
Here’s the Act 4 Synopsis from EA:
Bart has resigned himself to the fact that he cannot make Milhouse uncool no matter what he does and
accepts his new role as the family dork and school nerd. Meanwhile, Milhouse invites Lisa on a date with his Nana, who his dad recently flew in from Italy. When Milhouse ends up spending more time with his Nana than Lisa during their date, Lisa breaks up with Milhouse.
A devastated Milhouse seeks his Nana for reassurance, but Nana then explains that all Van Houtens experience a brief surge of popularity in their youth, which never returns. Meanwhile, the Milhouse/Lisa breakup news has spread, which sets off a chain reaction resulting in both Milhouse and Lisa no longer being cool, and everything goes back to normal.
As I stated above, you’ll go right into The Van Houten Curse questline, which is what the Act 4 story will follow. This questline is how you’ll unlock the Act 4 prizes.

Solvang Air? This is supposed to be Italian stuff I thought. Solvang is a small Danish tourist trap in Southern California about an hour north of Santa Barbara. I know because I grew up in Solvang.
Do the tokens carry over from event to event? After all the free tokens that can be earned, I would only have 4 items left to choose from in the mystery box. I was debating buying the 5 pack but didn’t want to get left with an unusable token. If they carry over to the next event, it may then be worth buying some tokens.
Yes and no. Yes, in that if you don’t cash them in I believe you can convert to donuts even after the event is over. No in that you can’t use Milhouse Tokens to unlock a Halloween MB (for example)

I don’t mind how the events tend to run since they often give a token which can be used to get items that I missed. What I don’t understand is why they have a premium character that always cost 150 donuts but only gives 8 in event currency. If the characters gave at least 10 they would be worth it but with only given 8, along with most events becoming super easy there is no point.
Wee… Another freemium skin for Milhouse to go along with the previous freemium skin he got earlier this event…
EA, it’s time to fess up. You’re pretty much out of ideas for the game and it’s showing like Rudolph’s freaking nose.
Agreed! There are other Characters that deserve a Character Skin (although I will say this is one of the better Questlines with Visual Character Tasks) …. but this Event Format needs to change (padding an event with Crap Decor Prizes into 4 Acts when quality Prizes in 2 Acts over 3 Weeks would be better and at least 3 Premium Combos – 1 being a Gil Deal).
Suggestion to EA:
Want more players on your game? Want to make more $$? Add something interesting for neighbours!! A social aspect always enhances a game. Halloween is coming, here’s an idea… add trick or treat bags you can drop in your neighbours towns with Halloween decorations, donuts, etc. People will harass their friends to reinstall the game, friend requests will blow up, and people will get more excited about the game again. If you make it exciting they will come/come back. Community makes people stick around. Then continue it through all events. Spice up the events too. Add more interactive and exciting aspects. A Halloween wheel of death where you spin a wheel and can win big prizes. A big monster that roams your neighbours towns and if you find and tap defeat him you get prizes. I don’t know, spice it up!! Add more sprinkles!! Dazzle us dang it!! Also, thanks for your hard work on the game but I know you guys have more in you. 🙂
Anything to discontinue this current and boring and tired Event Format …. you can keep it simple for the Noobs, but those of us who are long-time Tappers? we need more to do …. a return to visiting Neighboreenos with rewards for doing so would be a good start (but for as long as this Game App existed, there has been a desire to reward your friends). 👍🏻
Cant even get on. Spinning freaking donut all freaking day. I think ifvi ever get back on this will be it with sending all my guys on their tasks. As of now all my blocks of character jobs will all be done at one time and I’m so out of patience to try and set them up how I’ve had them for years. If i can even get back on its just gonna be event tasks only. I never thought i would be at that point….but here we are. I’ve tolerated this game’s crap for too long now. I’ll probably try to uninstall and reinstall…but it takes sooooo long and i can’t remember my stupid password. Lol

I’m sorry for your technical difficulties, friend (the Mrs wonders why I keep a wordpad filed with all my names and passwords to everywhere, then one day she forgot her account password name to Instagram – guess what she does now?) …. My gameplay has improved when I invested in a new device with loads of RAM (6gig), loads of ROM (128gig), but sometimes it’s not worth trying to log in when EA’s Network is a nope (even when I have fast 5G connection).
During this time of excessive Heat, excessive Winds, excessive Fires? I am not surprised if anyone runs into a technical (all three can play havoc on internet access). Stay Safe and don’t let those hi-diddly-diddly-reeno technical difficulties get to you (grab some Halloween swag from a store! 🎃)

Update after un/re install and several password changes and lots of swearing…i finally got back on and got all up to speed. And like ab idiot i resent EVERYONE….one by one on their habd picked tasks. I SERIOUSLY have problems. LOL.

I feel bad that I’m on the other end of the spectrum from the Tappers that posted before me.
I bought the premium character. That will be the extent of my engagement with the final act.

These look like really great prizes and possibly the best prizes in the entire event. There are finally some more new buildings available since there was only one new building (Van Houten Villa) which was offered (and its still available to buy) at the start of the event. Getting the token first is a great start to the prize track the token is unlocked early in the prize track instead of towards the end. Solvang Air seems like an okay decoration for the airport but I have my airport in storage so I might put it somewhere else. Nana Sophie Mussolini’s Vineyard and Little Italy are both buildings that I might add to an Italian area or somewhere else. Italian Milhouse does sound cool even if it is another costume for Milhouse. Grandpa Van Houten and his RV seems like a good premium character/item combo since the others in the event are either a Canadian version of Milhouse, future versions of Milhouse or Van Houtens from a different century.
I am definitely inspired to do something with the 2 Buildings in Act 4 (a new section in my Springfield), the Token was 12 🍩’s for me (at least it was free 🍩’s!), the Plane was Dumb (we have enough of these already!), Italian Milhouse (hopefully different Characters will get Character Skins soon – but his Questline is great!), gosh Grandpa Van Houten’s RV (maybe it’s camping somewhere? maybe I’ll create a little RV Park!) ….. Act 4 finished this Event nicely, now we all need free time to redo our Springfields (Stay Safe!)
I’m actually a little bit excited for two of these prizes that inspired me to do a some remodeling. I spent a little time making room for Little Italy and plan to move Legitimate Businessmen Social Club close by in a neighborhood with older, quaint buildings. Wiggum house will move over also because I get a snicker from it being adjacent to Fat Tony’s office. Also cleared a space to tuck in Nana Mussolini’s Vineyard within my Italian area with Colosseum, Bob’s Villa, gondolas, Opera House etc.
Exactly, the 2 new Buildings in Act 4 (and Grandpa’s RV) are even encouraging me to redo parts of my Springfield (I just put the Dumb Plane in Storage, to concentrate on what was fun!) and I see it’s encouraging you, too! 👍🏻
Please! Not ANOTHER plane. Gonna have to redesign my Airport, make it larger, if there is any reason to keep it.
I think I can flow the vineyard into current design, even Little Italy might be easy.
And the RV fits in the side yard. Maybe I’ll expand his house and place a piece of junk car on the front lawn. And a toilet.
See, Act 4 offered it up enough new Content (especially if you get the Premium Character Combo) that it is encouraging remodeling of one’s Springfield (I ❤️ it, but the Plane is Dumb and got Stored).
2 fun Questlines (Grandpa Van Houten, Italian Milhouse) and EA can leave us be for 2 Weeks! 😅👍🏻
