It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Well, I already mentioned the news regarding EA ending Origin Accounts for PC & Consoles …. it’s just a matter of time before EA will cease using Origin Accounts for their Mobile Game Apps (thank you osemandyz for confirming that some of EA’s new Mobile Game Apps require you to sign in using a Facebook Account – I’m predicting an option using Google Accounts if you are using an Android device could happen in the future – either way this would create a new Account for what’s called EA Play and you would Port everything from your Origin Account there). 🤔
One visit to @EAHelp on Twitter confirms there were Network issues globally (I got the Bart Simpson Screen Monday morning at 5:30am, so I didn’t bother to Tap today, I will give it a go tonight after 10:00pm!) 🤔
Did anyone take a moment to send a tweet to EA Help? Or went to EA Help on the official website and sent them a message? (please try taking the time to communicate with EA, you never know when a friendly Tech Support could save you a lot of trouble). 🤷🏼♂️
Zero expectations from EA! either we get a Mini Event + an Event (back to back), or we only get a Mini Event, or we only get an Event for Treehouse of Horror / Halloween! 🤷🏼♂️
The next Season of The Simpsons begins on Sunday September 27th (“Undercover Burns” Season 32, Episode 1), yes there will be “Treehouse of Horror XXXI” (Season 32, Episode 4) on Sunday October 18th. I think that info 👆🏻 should give you a good idea of when / if EA decides to offer up something besides finally changing the login screen (remember, we only have a small dedicated EA Staff handling TSTO). 🤔

Anybody having login issues? I’m not getting Bart screen. When I opened game today Monday September 21st. Was forced to login to EA account. Says can’t process login retry. Happening all morning so far.
It’s been happening to me since like Thursday. Can’t login.

Sorry I missed yesterday as caught up in other stuff as so many of us seem to be at the moment.
It was nice to see a few more comments on this week’s open thread, last week I think there were only 9 posts on the Sunday in contrast to the 145 comments on the open thread when I joined in 2018. Still It is understandable that many of us have other priorities at the moment.
.Still we at least manager 20 comments this Sunday!
Hoping for a good Halloween event this year, hopefully there’ll be some news about this over the next couple of days.

Okay let’s see if I can try to answer those of you having a problem with login.
During the down week I just check in once a day, collect 12 donuts and do tge daily challenge. Doing this gives me a proper break so when the next event starts it seems less of a slog. I do fear for the day when Big Mo closes the Tavern for the last time.
Aaand the Bart Screen of death is back!

I was having problems logging in all day Saturday so uninstalled reinstalled. Pain.
Let me just say this. If they bring back squishing gremlins in your town (AND your friends town) I’d be the happiest Simpsonite alive…unfortunately I think they’ve got way to comfy with the 4 week mini quests, which actually helps me since there I took a 3 year break so I’ve been pretty fortunate to get a lot of the stuff that I missed through these quests, but I want it to have active friends…it’s hard to go tapping in people’s towns, most people just stop visiting once they hit max friends level. I just think the game, and the community come alive when we have the chance to engage with each other. Hmmm, am I ranting? I’m ranting aren’t I?….this isn’t a complaint though it’s just imo. something I’d love to see them do.
A complaint would be where was the spooky music/sound effects last Halloween lol. At least I hope they fix that🙃 still love this game!!

You offered valid constructive criticism that the small dedicated EA Staff for TSTO needs to read.
The 4 Act Event Format needs to go! A new Event Format (or maybe go back to 1 Event not broken up into 3 to 4 Acts) is essential. Whenever there is a new Mystery Box with the ability to obtain Tokens (free, or with 🍩’s), this is a benefit to those who are missing prior Content (especially if it’s not in the regular Mystery Box).
The Mini Event feels more rewarding, because it’s not padded with Crap Prizes (the truth is, the best Content this year has been the Premium Character Combos, so a Tapper begins to wonder “why don’t I spend sprinkles on the Premiums and skip Grinding for Crap Prizes”) EA is benefiting those who are new to the Game App, or like you those who took a break, but is doing nigh for Long Time Tappers. 🤷🏼♂️

@Mike The music they made is incredible. Heard a 12ish year old girl listening to Hendrix loud (like I use too) while passing her on the sidewalk .Their music will live forever. Still wish they could have made more..

I was just thinking about that the other day, seems the last one was around January or early February. Just before all the Covid chaos began!
It would be nice, though totally understandable that this isn’t the No 1 priority for many people at the moment.
Considering it is Late September already, I hope the next THOH is sorted out, though knowing EA they might do something completely different instead of our favorite event.. or worse, Nothing at all.
I just hope I can get Raven Bart (NPC) available to get since I can’t get the bundles of the past.

Since Marge has an apple on her head, I will share that I made apple butter today – never even heard of it until today but I had a boat load of apples to use up and wanted something autumnal 🍁🍂🍎 can’t believe I’ve never heard of this before, I’m sharing it with my family and already have recipes lined up to use it 😋
TSTO wise – I have everything crossed for a THOH event special!!!
There is a glitch in the game. I sent everyone to do a daily task 2 days ago and the game still shows the checkmark on the characters as if they have not been tapped on yet so I can’t send anyone else on tasks. The good thing is I am getting xp and $$ everytime I log in and out but this is annoying I can’t send them on anything else!
Store the building they are in.
Store whatever building (I’m guessing KEM) they’ve stuck.

I feel like there is some waning interest in the game. Maybe clearing out inactive neighbours and adding new ones will provide some inspiration and excitement. The last No Graffiti Please thread was in 2018. Could we maybe do a new updated one? And a regular Add Me thread as well for those who don’t care about graffiti? Just a thought. Thanks for considering 🙂 Also, what ever happened to Wookie? Used to see him all over the site and haven’t heard whispers of him for ages. His animated character is still drawn in at the top of the Addicts page. Last I recall he worked for Disney (I think). Was he going back to school or something? Did life just get too busy for him to continue with Addicts? He was a nice fella.
