Should I Spend Donuts On Blues Vomitorium & the Bourbon Street Band?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Update time in Springfield!  Always nice to see new content in TSTO, as the latest mini-event has hit our games.  Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Blues Vomitorium & the Bourbon Street Band to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Bourbon Street Combo to your town…

Building: Blues Vomitorium
Decoration: Bourbon Street Band
Donut Cost: 150 Donuts
Size:
Building: 4×8, Band: 4×4
Earns:
Building: $200, 22xp/8hrs, Band: 4% on cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter:
Building: Gluttony +20, Band: Righteousness +20
Can Be Placed:
grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt
WDTCF?: Both items are from “Lisa Gets the Blues” S29, E17

Leaves stores October 7th, 2020

BONUS: If you purchase this combo you’ll have the option to purchase more Bourbon Street Bands for 20 donuts each.  Each of those will pay you a 4% bonus.  It is a no brainer to buy those.

The Rundown:
-No questline with it
-The Bourbon Street Band has multiple formations when tapped, like other crowds
-Bonus % is ridiculously good for the band, after you get past the 150 donuts.
-Barney has a 2hr task at the Blues Vomitorium, Stop in for a nightcap
-Homer has a 30m task at the Vomitorium, Deal With Having Eight Too Many Donuts.
-It is pricey for a stand-alone building and crowd decoration.

What Did I Do?:
Grabbed it. It’s a good deal, even if you don’t get a character with it.  Also, additional Bourbon Street Bands are a no-brainer purchase for their bonus % awarded.

Are the formation options for the Band:

  1. It is rare to see building/decoration combos in the game since its mostly character/building or decoration combos that get released. It is definitely a great purchase if you have the donuts because its another building that’ll fit with The Spotted Cat and the Bourbon Street Band is 1 of the 2 crowds that have a bonus. It’s good to see that there’s 2 permanent tasks at Blues Vomitorium since Homer does have lots of tasks at other locations so it was good to see Barney also have a task there. The band is also good for increasing the bonus since 4% is around 80 donuts (based on the ratio 1% 20 donuts average from premium decorations). 🎺🥃🎷

  2. I’m saving my doughnuts for the Halloween quest 🎃🎃🎃

Does anyone know if one will be able to buy extra band members after the event ends? Just noticed that the Band members item also has the “Limited time” timer at the bottom. I grabbed just one, but want to know this before spending more donuts on other event items.

      Thanks,
      JG

  3. I was scheduled to get JEB’s come up in my vault next week, and I always grab some when they roll around, but I’m spending my donuts on these instead.

  4. I like the bands. There are several playing in different parts of my town now; on the boardwalk; outside the vomitorium, in the music festival area, next to the cemetery…

  5. Blues Vomitorium with Bourbon Street Band – I spent the sprinkles because I ❤️ the NOLA theme (and this Building is perfect). I am definitely going to have fun creating a NOLA section in my Springfield. 🎺

I did groan at ‘another group of non Characters that change when you Tap’ Decor (it is an old design theme, how many variations of this do we have already? too many!), but that 4% Bonus and 20 🍩’s for more is a bargain (our small dedicated EA Staff for TSTO is kind of listening to our constructive criticism regarding ‘needs Decor that has Bonus %’- lol!) 🥁

90% of what you obtain in this Mini Event is a cohesive theme (ok, don’t groan at the Springfield Memorial Bridge, what comes with obtaining that is super duper cute!) 🎷

I think this might be my favorite Event for 2020. ☺️

  6. Hi to all.
Wow! My town is just soooo loud with all these bands around town. Huge crowds. Not much social distancing in my Springfield 🤣🤣

  7. If the band roamed / was a NPC I might of bought I have no use for another stationary mob.

I groaned at ‘another stationary Group to tap’ , too (I agree, after Homerpalooza, these should have been retired!), but after tidying up my Springfield (Patric is right when you Store things, you begin to reevaluate how to create new sections in your Springfield) I got 2 and that’s an 8% Bonus increase (I may not have a 1400% Bonus, but being at 810% is fine).

      • My bonus %ages are at a level where they are like the horsepower of my Jaguar – realistically there are more than enough, but if the price is right, I could be tempted 😉

So there are more bands in my Springfields…

  8. Buy buy buy buy, and buy again. Awesome bonus percentage.

  9. 20 donuts for a 4% is a no brainer. I picked up a LOT of them!!

  10. I’m loving this event, as I’ve been able to create 2 new features. Firstly, I’ve added a Jazz stage to my extensive Homerpalooza Festival. To the original Rock, Pop and Hip Hop stages, I’ve already added the Open-Air stage (Or ‘’Alternative Stage” as I see it, plus the Springfield Bowl Stage.

Secondly, I’ve created a Bourbon Street area, bringing buildings from this and other events together to vibrant music scene. I do like being able to buy extra crowds As they really add to the look.

My user name is Timhensh if anyone want to see more of my Springfield, which takes up way too much of my time! Lol, lol, lol.

    • Wow that is crazy awesome looking. Thanks for sharing!

It looks like you did a have fun time being creative in your Springfield (and that’s what TSTO should be about). The Buildings in this Event are great, the 2 new voiced Characters are great, having a Mini Event that doesn’t drrrrraaag on too long is great. 😀👍🏻

  11. Good day Alissa I d like to know if the bonus 4⁰/⁰ for the bands that cost 20donuts stay before the event

  12. I don’t need the % but will buy 3 as I like the different crowds from previous events, have had the first idea for a long time in designing, going to have a Jazz town in some spare area and will fill it with themed items, can’t wait till I get the bridge🎺🎷😁

  13. At the item limit. I got the main one but won’t be getting any more bands
