It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

After a long summer hiatus, the Simpsons are BACK TONIGHT! The season 32 premiere airs tonight! Are you excited for our favorite yellow family to come back?
Bust out those jazz hands…TSTO got a little jazzy this past week! The All This Jazz mini-event hit our games, thoughts? Content you’re excited to see?

I’ve completed the final quests for the Springfield Memorial Bridge. It says that I have completed this part of the story, but there is no completed check mark & I never received the bridge. Has this happened to anyone else?
Did Safi do a bracket battle of Treehouse of Horror segments (or was that a dream I had) ?

I Camry believe they killed Carl off.
I’m not a big fan of jazz, but the characters in this event are cool. The dialogue is also pretty funny. Hopefully Halloween will be just as good.
Finally a really cool event!! Lots of great new content, great theme and especially finally MEMORIAL BRIDGE! With a visual job! I’m very happy and can’t wait for the next event! Maybe Halloween!
SLOWING MY GAME: EA
1: sky finger, 24hrs is to long, game stalls and lose currency, make it ever 8 hours, very slow
2, currency flying about, slows my game to a pause, use bigger currency, less flying about.
3: placing an item, house, tree, light, slows my game as it moves to the next item to place in inventory, WHY??, Game either stalls or shuts down
4: Asking my age then locking me out, Makes no sense??, Reprogram it’s stupid.
5: Get that land sorted, we need a complete square of land, unlock, make it a land event, free the hights🆓🆓🆓🆓
FINALLY!!!!! The outdoor opera house! Thank you, EA. After two years of playing, 1 year at level 939, and collecting all the “friends” prizes, I FINALLY unlocked Sideshow Bob. My game is complete.
Before I unlock the bridge, Can it connect on roads and does anyone have an animation job with it?

Nope I tried water, road can’t connect.
I finished the Quest line. All the associated tasks. I have the Memorial Bridge. But, I don’t have a BIG YELLOW check mark indicating I’ve completed that part.
Odd.
In other news….
Eugene/ Springfield has had rain and clear air.
And today, more fires started in Central California. And more bad air. Not poor quality air, but BAD air.
Yuck
Wondering where to put the bridge? Any ideas to share?
I am equally stuck. It’s the only prize I’ve not liked. It’s a road that goes nowhere. And it can’t cross water. If that had made it so it could intersect a road over a river it would have been so much better.
Having said that I love the animation.

I join every enthusiastic Tapper who is enjoying this Jazz-y NOLA Mini Event (the last Event Prize was perfect!) If you were encouraged to redo your Springfield, that’s what a solid Event should do vs “meh I stored almost everything”. 👍🏻
I hope everyone took advantage of the new Premium Content (the extra Questlines are great). Will not be surprised if we have a VOTE over “Best Event in 2020” to see a Mini Event win over a 4 Act Event (keep it simple, keep it short, keep the Event Prizes right is a winner vs “meh this stinks and I’m over it!”)

Hope all Tappers are – having fun with the Mini Event, staying covid-19 Safe, remain Safe from 🔥’s (and 💨 filled skies – yes the air quality is still bad and even the CDC is now sending out warnings!) and not running into red tape when it comes to getting help now (volunteer at your local Food Bank, or Red Cross – anything to help out your Community AND get relief out towards necessary outside of your Community). ❤️
I have this peculiar but very annoying glitch in one of my Simpsons towns. Whenever I try to place a building the game freezes and then has to be shut down and restarted for it to work again. The strange thing is that I play both towns on the same device and have no problems playing in the other town.
Any thoughts?
Maybe try logging out of the game and re-entering your Gmail and password on the splash screen .

I tried this but no success so far. Thanks for the suggestion.
I had a similar problem a number of years ago, caused by two items in my town somehow overlapping in their position. Because the game only crashed if the problematic items were on the screen when I tried to place another item, I was able to localize the problem and randomly store nearby items until the problem went away.

Alan, thanks for this, turns out you were right. It just occurred to me that when I was putting down cobblestone walls that they could be laid on the same square, anyway I lifted the walls and the problem is now fixed! 😁

This event has really got me back I to the swing of TSTO … I’ve been designing and everything! My grandparents love Jazz and used to go around the country (UK, and world at times) dancing at Jazz festivals. They loved New Orleans and I can’t wait to have the opportunity to go there myself!
Not a huge fan of the current even due to the theme, but content is ok and it is a good time to arrange our city. Hope every one is safe. Have a good day or a good night 🙂
I passed on the Outdoor Opera Stage when it first was available a while back. Decided to get it now.
A side note: it almost seems like there must be new artists coming up with buildings recently. They are terrific, aren’t they?

Finished the main event this morning and now enjoying playing through the 3 other questlines
In the real world today has been one of the worst days of my life as two days away from reaching the age of 70 I received a phone call to say that my Dad has passed away early this morning. He’d been ill for a while and was taken into hospital a few days ago but I was expecting him to eventually recover over time so it came as a real shock to me. Apart from basic necessities I’ve spent most of the day crying ,not knowing what to with myself and speaking to my mum whenever I can.
My goodness, this is sad news. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

My condolences. In January, my dad – who was 80 – went into the hospital and passed in the night, with all of us thinking he would have been out the next day. Absolutely unexpected as despite his age he was in the health he should have been in. It’s a shattering experience. Keep well.

So, Sorry hang in there. Grieving is an important step. Some things that helped me in same situation..Talk with friends, go for a bike ride or a walk/run in the park.

Thank you for the kind words they are appreciated. Your right it is helpful talking to my mum but it still breaks my heart and makes me cry going around the house when I expect to see him but there is nothing there.
First event I have enjoyed for a while and also designing a bit, trying to replicate the map layout from patrics post lol, not an easy task.
