It’s everyone’s (well almost everyone’s) favorite time in TSTO, the annual Treehouse of Horror Event! Yes, Halloween in Springfield has always been big deal in TSTO and this year is no exception! Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Old Scratch and Flanders’ Personal Hell to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this hellish combo to your town…

Flanders’ Personal Hell would make a great entrance to a Hell area or even a little area dedicated to Flanders’ Personal Hell with things Ned doesn’t like. I think it could’ve had a toggle animation with the gates to open and close when tapped and maybe have a wall or fence to match with the gates. Some positives with it is the 3.5% bonus percentage which makes it worth about 70 donuts on its own (based on 20 donuts for 1% ratio) and Old Scratch being worth about 60 donuts on his own. At least there is tasks there for Old Scratch and Ned.

Old Scratch is an iconic character from the early seasons of the show and its cool that his questline also involves the (Moe-looking) Devil. It is great to know that he’s voiced and has tasks in the event (both currency and main and character questline tasks). It does look like he also has some neat visual tasks since I’m a fan of tasks with animals in them.

Ned Flanders’ Personal Hell gives you exactly what one expects from Decor (Character Task, increased XP %), this will stay in my Springfield as I create an Inferno section in my Halloweentown! 🔥🎃
Old Scratch is great (he’s voiced, earns Event Currency at Premium rate, his Questline with the Devil is funny, amusing Visual Tasks!) 🔥😈
I’ve got 🍩’s to spend, so bring on the Halloween stuff, EA!
FYI – looks like a patch update brought the spooky music and the murky water (see what happens when enough Tappers get on the TSTO Social Network Profiles and lovely complain? well, keep it up and maybe we can get Evil Shopkeeper+Krusty Doll for those of us who already have the Evil Shop!) 🤔
Halloween might not be Alissa’s favourite event but it is for me.
Been playing a B town for almost 11 months and up to now pretty much all my sprinkles have gone on Burns Boxes.
I did get St. Basils and the Russian fella, and of course the GGR once it got re-released. Also a load of the Bourbon St. Band – 4% for 20 Ds once unlocked. Nothing else springs to mind.
I’ll get all the new characters this time out and check what’s in the yearbook box for the returning stuff. I did get the Evil Shopkeeper anyway, as well as Witch Marge ( in case the bundle screws up again later )
I’m going to get a stack of the Spooky Forest bundles too, unless I’m mistaken they add 5% bonus for only 20 sprinkles – bargain 😁

I am happy with EA. They did not do the event as in the past, but today they released an update with sounds and effects of Halloween water.

I didn’t even realise that there were people making complaints, given the general feeling that the game was now winding down towards an inevitable end.
This is interesting to see that EA have actually paid attention to these concerns. Has there been a change that has prompted what appears to be greater effort being put into the games development?

Tappers engage EA on Facebook, Twitter, and the Official Forums (I would say look at the fact we got increased Item Limits as further proof …. when enough request for something? eventually their wish is delivered).
Now, if Tappers can join in the “add Evil Shopkeeper + Krusty Doll” to the Mystery Box (or Store) request (this is for those of us that have the Evil Store Building, but have no way of obtaining that duo). It could get EA to make it happen.
Yes, Tappers were vocal – lol’ing at Hell in our Game App (some weren’t happy with Hell 🔥 and Demons – it’s on par with “that year” we got a Pagan Christmas), but they definitely let EA know the “music and murky waters” was missing.
quick question – are the mystery box tokens good for the whole event, or just this act? I only need two tokens for this box, but the 5 token price is a good deal (only less so if I can’t use them). Also, do you get 12 donuts for extra tokens?

There’s not likely to be anything added to the Misery Box – AFIK that’s never happened.
If you only need 2 tokens don’t waste the sprinkles on extras
