The latest mini-event in our pocket-sized towns, New Year New You, is now live! Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest update from the app store to see it. This update will turn the splash screen back to normal Homer running…so if you still see the Christmas splash screen, you haven’t updated.
Also, the snow hasn’t left Springfield. This has happened a few times in the past, in 2013 the snow stuck around until Valentine’s Day and it was still around for Homer the Heretic in 2017. So it’s not the first time…
You’ll need Homer free to kick things off, followed by 4hr task for Homer and currency earning tasks for Marge, Lisa, Bart, Wiggum, Quimby, Moe, Lenny, and the new premium character. Also, Homer will have a currency earning task…

Oh, and, can I just add…there should be a comma between New Year and New You. It should be New Year, New You. For some reason, EA’s decided to forgo the comma….
Here’s the quick rundown of New Year New You details:
First thing first…this event, and everything with it leaves games in two weeks…February 3rd. Standard mini-event
So you’ll have to finish the prize track questline and purchase any premium items BEFORE February 3rd. Don’t let the timer run out on you!
Onto the mini-event itself…
So this mini-event is titled New Year New You. And the same basic concept applies. Follow a questline, do the tasks, and unlock the prizes associated with it.
The premise of the event starts when you log into Springfield, with The Post-Holiday Expansion…
Homer: The Holy Trinity of Leftovers: Christmas dinner mixed with Thanksgiving scraps and topped with all the worst Halloween candy!
Bart: Oh man, another round of Christmas ham with Jolly Ranchers on top and you’ll be muumuu-level fat!
Homer: Oooh, muumuu-level! Last time I wore one of those, I got to work from home!
Bart: So? Isn’t the whole world already working from home?
Homer: Nope, we have to keep going into the plant. Mr. Burns convinced the Mayor that the radiation protects us. *takes bite of leftovers*
Marge: Homer, stop eating that tri-holiday heart attack!
Homer: But if I get fat enough, I could start the New Year with courtside seats next to the leftover dispenser. *looks at fridge*
Marge: You have to start losing weight. Don’t you want to be around to see the kids grow up?
Homer: Not really.
Marge: Well, how about this: if you lose ten pounds, I’ll put my special Santa outfit on for you.
Homer: *intrigued noise*
Lisa: Mom! Gross!
This dialogue is followed by a 6s task for Homer and after that you’ll roll right into the main questline….
The questline to follow for the free prizes is…Survival of the Wellest.

There are suppose to be 2 skins for New Lard Lad in addition to the building, right? Well, the game is not giving me all of the skins in the game store. I bought the New Lard Lad building (a.k.a. Skin #1), and I bought Skin #3, but Skin #2 is not appearing in the game store for me. Is this a glitch?
I have the Palm Springfield Resort plus Jass offered, but it’s showing as 200 donuts, not 150 listed above. Looking back it seems that was a Gil deal and 200 back in the day, so the 200 is probably correct.
Any chance you can mark items that aren’t unique with ^ or some such symbol? I like the * for items in the yearbook. I don’t always know if something that’s being offered might be something I should look around my town for because I already have at least one. TY
Have the odds changed for the Mr. Burns mystery box? It now says “95% non-premium items”. Is this why the mystery box items show up as new in the store?
Anyone know where to find the Yearbook? I’m not seeing it, and I’m pretty sure I don’t have everything.
I paid for the 300 donuts plus muscular Mill house. I got the donuts but didn’t receive the muscular Mill house.

Between the burning bushes and getting God from the last event I was able to build up a considerable amount of sprinkles, I went on a bonkers spending splurge.
Got everything but the ‘Childarium’ don’t like the look of it.
There’s 23 character storylines waiting me after the event, should keep me busy.
Also means my little town needs a major overall, which will keep me busier.

Me too! I now have over 11k donuts and 110million cash😃😃 it’s nice to be able to buy anything and everything in the game.
Gone are the days of wishing for a winner on the dog track and trying to figure out if there was a pattern to the doughnut boxes…
I’ve sent Yahweh thru his tasks, in order, twice…still no 24 hour task for donuts appears. Is this a glitch? Still missing other 24 hour tasks for other characters too, but this Yahweh problem really chaps my hide.
It really irks me too. We spend donuts to get him with the advertisement that he earns donuts, and then that task is taken away? And we have to wait for another update to possibly get it back? Shady.
Mrs. Frink isn’t voiced, I like the animations on the Screaming Monkey Medical Research Center (will get to Her Questline Friday!) 😀👍🏻

Is there a way to to see what buildings you have and what you are missing without having to walk around your entire game? I have been playing since the game started and I honestly don’t remember if I have all these building or not.

I lost all of my “friends” and their towns. Is this something related to the update? Has this happened to anyone else?
This happen to me before. I think 🤔 it lasted for a few days. They eventually came back.

It’s a known glitch …. try entering the ‘free Neighboureeno’ EA gives you …. then exit back to Neighbours and your fellow Tappers should be available to visit.
Closing my game and reopening it usually fixes it for me but sometimes it happens every 2nd or 3rd neighbor and then I just say screw it and leave it
What buildings generate donuts
None that are currently offered
Lard Lad Donut Factory and CostMo Foods, which each generate 6 donuts a day. Also, indirectly, Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant (by working you through the monorail track sequence) and the Playdough Factory (by playing the “where’s Maggie?” game three times). But, as Alissa said, none of these are available for purchase right now (or at least definitely not the first two).
Anyone else start the tasks for the event only to return 4 hours later to see that they did not start? I also bought Mrs. Frink and she and the building were gone, and I was short the donuts spent to get her….

Yes …… while we can’t assume older Content will end up in the Mystery Box, it’s nice when EA gives you one more chance (at discount!) There should be something for everybody!
I like the prizes for this mini event. I like that with this event they added a lot of return items. I was happy to get tofu bell and the doughy dozen bagels.
Does anyone else have regular lard lad and chalk outline showing up as limited time items? These are already in the premium item section in the store so not sure why they now show up under the event items.

EA is kinda sneaky (especially when it comes to Content that could already be in the Mystery Box). I always check the Mystery Box to see if it’s also with non Prize Event Content.

Anyone know what the deal is with the Lard Lad Donuts? Not the future one with the metal statue, the one that looks identical to the ones we could already buy for donuts. Not sure why it’s appearing in items for this event.

in my game, the Sham Rock Cafe is offered for 120 donuts.
I don´t remember if mine had it for 120 or 150 but one of those at least. And like an idiot I bought it becuase I just assumed it was a charachter and not a npc

Quick question, did anyone else notice that some characters LOST their 8hr task and 12hr tasks? Maybe is just me… but when i send everyone to an 8/12hr job from the unemployment office i have more left wondering around without an 8/12hr task… and yes i know some didn’t have an 8hr or 12hr job, but this are old characters that always had those times. Usually i would have 2 or 3 left but now there are like 6-8 without the times…
I still have the 8 hour task ‘have Rabbi read texts” that is greyed out. I was hoping the update might fix it.

Thank the GOD’S you asked that question! My Blue Haired Attorney lost his 24 hour job sometime last week. I was starting to think I had imagined he had a 24 hour, $ 1000 dollars job.
My Doctor calls these lapses in memory, Covid- Brain Fog. Oh well !

What time has the update gone live? It’s 11am EST & it hasn’t hit some of our games yet even w/ checking the App Store for an update on IOS. Thanks for any info, lots of good items back & new, should be entertaining.
It went out via the app store yesterday and live in games today at 9am ET.
Try searching Tapped Out in the app store. Also try hard closing/restarting the app store.
Do you know the totals for each prize? Is it 125 for each one or are they different?

With the standard 8 characters earning 40, that really messes with me. When it’s only 5 or 10 to the next level, I get impatient and throw 2 or 4 doughnuts at it to move along. Even with the premium character, I’d still be short by a few since each level starts with a character or two on a separate task … patience … ohhhhhhmmmmm.
I love it. Good mini event. I bought the Monsarno building straight away but will you be able to add the extra little buidlings that came with it in the Terwilliger event? I missed out on that one, probs with my phone in those days and alot of tech probs too.
I’d love them to add them to the main building. Little town in my town yeah!
And one tiny little question, the collected tickets, tokens etc will they always be available to cash in donuts or do they go away after awhile? Orrrr, hopefully we can use them later when land expansion becomes an option again. Rara ????? 🙂

If possible could you include what returning stuff isn’t available in the year book? That would be super useful information for a lot of new/returning players like myself. Apologies if this is already something you do.
