Update time in Springfield my friends, and this time EA is bringing back everyone’s favorite phrase for the New Year…New Year, New You! Let’s all take a New Year’s trip to chubby camp. Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Mrs. Frink, Screaming Monkey Medical Research, and the Octoparrot to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this research pack to your town…

Just as a follow up to my post about octoparrot, I finished Mrs. Frink’s questline which had used the joint task with octoparrot once or twice. The joint task has been accessible in her permanent task list since the date of purchase. The problem has been with octoparrot when it’s not doing the joint task.
Since finishing Mrs. Frink’s questline I’m still using her on the mini event questline so I haven’t had a chance to use her joint task with the octoparrot.
The problem I described in my original post still exists – Octoparrot still shows up in the airport terminal character list if it is not doing the joint task with Mrs. F. However, after completing Mrs. Frink’s questline octoparrot no longer blocks the other characters from doing tasks at the airport.
I tend to think if octoparrot already has one task with a regular character, it will likely have other tasks added at some point.
Yes, CJBrownLV, it is always advisable to bring gameplay issues, particularly widespread issues such as the missing character tasks, to EA’s attention on EA social media pages. Contacting EA Help via their website for updates on the status of the missing character tasks problem is advisable too, of course.

I usually get a quick reply via @EAHelp on Twitter whenever I need Customer Support (I encourage everyone to be polite and have a good sense of humour – that poor EA Staff is overworked!)!
I don’t know if TSTO will become apart of Origin Account’s replacement (called EA Play and EA Play Pro), I just know this new way of Login for EA allows you to play a Mobile Game App on your 🖥️ or 💻.
I do feel now that Lucasfilm – Disney took the Star Wars IP away from EA for game development? It’s only a matter of time before they do the same with The Simpsons (I dread seeing TSTO end, but if it gets replaced with an ‘Open World’ Simpsons? I’m subscribing!) 😊👍🏻

If Tappers want to make the most of this Mini Event, then spend the sprinkles on the Screaming Monkey Medical Research Building (and L-EA-Z-Y did it again with a Building that has no Character Tasks), Mrs. Frink (not voiced, but she Tasks at the Dr. Frink’s House – 💜 the animation when this is in use) and Octoparrot (don’t care for NPC’s but if Mrs. Frink has a Task to feed ’em).

I’ve always been a fan of doing what no one else is doing. Set my own path. It’s why I’ve never seen Titanic and why I no longer like Taylor Swift. Over saturation.
It was fun to create a few Bernie Mittens memes for 1 Day …. and then I had to walk away (I guess 🇺🇸 deserved a good 😂 after a very tense 2020 and Bernie is being good natured about it).
I had fun with this Mini Event, but then again I prefer that style of Event for TSTO (less Content ends up in Storage).
💜’d Mrs. Frink’s Questline, makes great use of Professor Frink’s House (I do hope EA addresses these glitches).

would really like to have mrs frink even though i’ve not been able to get into my springfield since august so i tried again after several weeks and behold!!!!!!

like always. the same error that began every event since christmas 2017, last for 1-2 weeks each time became permanent in august & no EA tech has been able to fix it. so just enjoy the game while you can until you get forever locked out

This is been a problem with the Origin Account that EA has discontinued using for every Game (except TSTO). Tappers get signed out (and have to sign back in) whenever EA has a Network problem ( they’ve had plenty! so has every Video Game company as Networks are being improved for 5G and 6th Gen WiFi).
I encourage everyone to keep your name / password for Origin Account handy (so you can Login), do not try to Login whenever there are Network issues, and there’s still isn’t a fix for the “rollback glitch” (Patric is accurate when he says it’s only a small dedicated EA Staff running this Game App and it’s on its last ride).
the last ea tech i spoke to believed my springfield was corrupted so had the idea to move everything to a new world so to speak but that never happened as i didn’t hear from them again. there was to reinstalling every 4hrs way around it to log in but that hasn’t worked since august. every event since 2017 christmas brought the login error for me for 2 weeks each time so i was always behind in events & then last august that was it for good. that blue login error screen everytime so since ea wouldn’t respond anymore i just had to accept my tapped out time was over
I have often been logged out after accepting the new terms. When this happens I type in my email and wrong password the first time. The second type I enter my email and correct password and it will tend to work. I have recently finished the yearbook and have had no game crashes or difficulty logging in.
I went ahead and got Mrs Frink, but the issue that I have is the quest Make Sebastian Cobb Wrangle the Monkeys- 1hr. Sebastian Cobb has not been working correctly on my Springfield and I’m not sure if it’s even been fixed. Any suggestions?

The last time I had a Character glitch, I put the Character in Storage …. and then took the Character out of Storage (give this a try with Sebastian Cobb and see if it works).
TSTO has definitely become a game app that requires plenty of free ROM on your device and it’s encouraged to have 3Gigs RAM (it’s nice that we have devices that are affordable with 6Gigs RAM / 124Gigs ROM now) and minimum 5Gigs ROM of free space.
Do not hesitate to reach out to EA Help (Customer Support is available everyday except Sunday).
How do I put him in storage if I can’t see him? I have been in contact with EA, but they continue to close my case and I keep reopening it and will continue till it’s fixed. I’ve had this problem for at least 3 yrs now.

I wouldn’t know how to answer that, except to say that it almost sounds like you have “the roll black glitch” (use the Search 🔎 function here on that topic and you will find many Tappers had to fight with EA, start over to earn back what’s missing, or they quit the Game App and gave up).

Anybody having login issues today?it’s a ring like my password is wrong so I reset but still same thing.
I got Mrs. Frink although I don’t like much the building I do like that it has an npc and the spouse of Frink.
Building does take up Real Estate (once again having more Land available is becoming an issue as Tappers run out of space due to all the Content they have for 8 years piling up), I share the same complaint Alissa has … this Building is one and done (Characters use it once during a Questline and never use it again).
This Premium Combo all about Mrs Frink and the Octoparot! 👍🏻
If octoparrot isn’t doing the 4 hour joint task with Mrs. Frink it defaults to the airport terminal tasks, often as the only ‘character’ who can buy a ticket to travel in my town. I have 3 characters on permanent tasks there so it’s annoying for an NPC with only a joint task to be locked into the terminal tasks preventing other characters to be used there.
I can think of far far worse gameplay complaints than this but it is a bit irritating. Alissa, do you think when Mrs. Frank’s quest line or this mini event is taken down this might change? Thanks..
Also is it likely that once the snow is removed the 8, 12 and 24 hour missing character tasks will be corrected? Thanks.

I share every Tapper who’s irritated by missing Character Tasks, so I encourage everyone to visit the official TSTO Facebook Page (encourage EA to do something in a polite way).
I am hoping the Octoparrot turns from being an NPC into a playable Character with Tasks (EA has done this before turning an NPC into a playable Character with an Update – such as the Abominable Snowman).
