Love and War Act 1 is Live! The Rundown and What You Need To Know (Updated and Complete)

IMPORTANT NOTE GLITCHES ABOUND: There’s currently a glitch with Libido, the cash item!  DO NOT BUY HER AT THE MOMENT!  If you purchase her you’ll get the donuts but not the character, this will have to be fixed by EA.  If you’ve ALREADY purchased her, contact EA to have them correct the issue. (they can add her directly to your game)  If you’re still having an issue going that route, contact your App Store (iOS, Google, Amazon etc) and ask them for a refund because they didn’t deliver on the promised items.
If you purchased a character and they’re missing in your Springfield….CHECK YOUR INVENTORY for them first!  This includes Libido.  If you’re still missing the character then contact EA.
Also, it appears (at least at the moment) that there’s no donut exchange for Mystery box tokens.  That may be corrected when the event ends, or may be corrected with a patch.  Just sit tight on that one if it’s impacting you.

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Love is in the air!  Although maybe not so much in the Simpsons’ household…
Love and War is the latest event to hit our pocket-sized towns, and it’s an all-out romance novel affair!  Also always, loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up…

Once again we see another multi-event in Springfield.  So love them, or hate them, they’re still here.  So let’s all try to make the best of this…

Anywho….things kick off with a series of 6s tasks for Homer and Moe.

After you’ve completed the initial task you’ll kick off the Love and War Event!

Note: I’m still adding to this post, but I wanted to make sure I got the intro stuff out there for y’all.  Keep checking back as this post will be updated throughout the next hour or so (takes a while to add everything).  It’ll say updated and complete when all the info is added.  Thanks!

First, remember this was an app store update available for download.  So if you haven’t already done so, and you don’t see the Splash Screen above for your game, head to your app store and update TSTO.  You may have to search the store for Tapped Out, as it doesn’t always appear on the update list initially…

Second, if you’re looking for details on what’s to come (beyond this first Act), so you can prep donuts, etc..check out the Spoilers post here.

Now on with the details for Act 1!

Here’s EA’s event synopsis:

Homer gets kicked out of the house after leaving Marge alone at home on Valentine’s Day. As a way to
cope, Marge gets back to writing her romance novels, but soon discovers that her literary creations have come to life. Literally!
Things are going great until Marge’s leading lady, Temperance Barrows, falls for Artie Ziff. But Marge has no plans of sitting on side-lines while watching her protagonist wind up with a villain, so she uses her literary device to write a new script for Temperance.
Things eventually come to a head when Marge has to break up the Temperance/Artie wedding, through
any means necessary! Even if that includes writing in some not-so-great characters from her novel to
see this thing through.

We should all know by now unless of course, you’re new to TSTO that the prizes for this event follow the same questline format to unlock as our regular mini-events do.

Just like every large event recently, this is not your typical Major Event.  And there are pros and cons to that, and everyone will find their own pros and cons.  And some people’s pro will be someone else’s con.

As always, I just ask that you have an open mind, and reserve judgment until we’re into the event.  It’s 5 weeks long, it should be fairly easy to complete, you’ll unlock a bunch of new prizes and no crafting to grind through,  so let’s just have some good old fashioned TSTO fun! And, as long as you don’t rush things, you won’t get bored because it’ll change each week!

Here’s the event schedule:

Act 1 Starts February 3rd (WEDNESDAY)
Act 2 Starts February 12th (FRIDAY)

Act 3 Starts February 21st (SUNDAY)
Act 4 Starts March 2nd (TUESDAY)

Event Ends March 10th, 2021 (WEDNESDAY)

As I stated above, the initial quests are 6s .   Once completed you’ll start the Stranger Than Eviction questline, which is the Act 1 story to follow.  This is how you’ll unlock the Act 1 prizes.

Note: Some of you have mentioned you are having trouble getting the event to start.  You need to download the latest update and the requirements for this are: Level 15 and you MUST have MARGE unlocked.  It won’t trigger without those two.

The Only Thing Happening

Homer: Moe, I got two tickets to the Superior Mega Ultra Slam! It’s the most superlative-laden Slam ever!
Moe: Two tickets, eh? This may be a good time to remind you that you haven’t paid your superior mega ultra bar tab in over a year?
Homer: Quality hint, Moe, but I already invited someone else.
Moe: I understand. This weekend is for couples.
Homer: Lenny and I do make a great couple. Now if I could only make Carl understand.
Moe: Lenny?! Don’t you know what this weekend is?
Homer: Of course, I do. It’s the weekend of the Superior Mega Ultra Slam.
Moe: Homer, the Bartender’s Pledge requires me to tell customers the truth. And to wipe the bar regularly with Pledge. So, the truth is that this weekend …you and Lenny are going to have a great time at the Slam. *wipes the bar*
Make Homer Show Off His Tickets- 6s
Make Moe Chuckle Under His Breath- 6s
Marge: Here’s a very sexy breakfast for a very sexy husband. Look, I formed the bacon into the shape of a heart.
Homer: And I know what these sunny-side-up eggs are supposed to be. *purrs*
Marge: They’re just eggs.
Homer: Exactly. *devours*
Marge: So, about this weekend. I was thinking we could go on a couples’ retreat. Luann and Kirk went last year and said it did wonders for their relationship.
Homer: What do they know? They’ve been divorced and remarried so many times I’ve lost count.
Marge: You mean once?
Homer: Woah, slow down Einstein. Besides, we can’t go to a retreat this weekend. I already made plans.
Marge: You remembered? Oh, Homie, that’s a gift in and of itself. I really thought you were going to forget.
Homer: I would never forget something this important. Lenny would kill me.
Marge: Lenny?! Don’t you know what this weekend is?
Homer: Uh oh. Marge, did you take the Bartender’s Pledge, too?

And this triggers the entire story premise for each act…

(and yes, just like I did for the past multi-events, I’ll be posting full dialogue for this one before each week is over)

Now let’s talk about what’s included…

Here’s the Act 1 Synopsis from EA:

Homer brags to Moe about acquiring tickets to the Superior Mega Ultra Slam wrestling event but invites Lenny instead of Moe. In retaliation, Moe opts not to remind Homer that this event is taking place on Valentine’s Day weekend.
Homer later realizes he’s forgotten the holiday, but instead of changing plans he invites Marge to the
wrestling match. When Marge declines, she makes a sarcastic remark suggesting that Homer and Lenny
should go anyway. Homer misinterprets and leaves Marge home alone on Valentine’s Day to attend the
event.
When Homer returns, Marge promptly kicks him out and decides to work through her feelings by writing
more of her romance novel, The Harpooned Heart. Things are going great until a knock on the door
reveals that the characters from her novel are literally coming to life!

  1. This theme is over, but I still have a task for Marge to do with Temperance, but Temperance is no longer available. I guess I did one task too soon. Will I always have this task floating there?

    • It’s possible. However, it’s likely Temperance will make a comeback in our games (either in a Mystery Box or as a direct purchase), so eventually you’ll be able to clear it.
