It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Another all-new episode of Addicts Live aired yesterday! Safi and I talked all this Act 1 of the Love and War Event. We heard from YOU about your thoughts on the event and shared why we do what we do here at TSTO Addicts. You don’t want to miss it! You can check it out here! We also had the first-ever Addicts SPOILER video air this week! Check it out here if you’re looking for info on what’s ahead with the Love and War Event! For those that aren’t able to listen to it…the video includes loads and loads of screens breaking down the info (in writing) and shows lots of images of what’s to come. So don’t stress over the fact that it’s a video…it’s still very much watchable without sound…

You may have noticed there was no Springfield Showoff for the New Year New You event. That’s because only two of you made submissions. I’m guessing y’all weren’t big fans of the mini-event…that’s a shame because I love showing off your work! However, even though we didn’t do an official Showoff post, I still want to highlight the two tappers who submitted their designs. So look for their showoffs below!

Mini New Year New You Showoff…

Woe, woe unto me. My kindle had a storage issue and, thinking my game was safe on the SD card, I reset it. My game was not safe. I have no backup with EA or Amazon so surprise! I’m starting from scratch.
I’m trying to be disgustingly positive about it. Starting fresh with experience, knowing which characters/decorations are worth the donuts and which aren’t, will be good but I’m really banging my head at the slow start. I’m at Level 10 and my sad green square is low on Simpsons. I’m missing the Valentines event, too! (Patience, Monty. Climb the ladder.)
You never created an EA/Origin Account? That’s the only way to truly be sure your game is saved, especially in the event of a device change/issue.
Didn’t want to spend the money. And still don’t.
It’s free to create an EA/Origin account, all it does is backs up your game on EA’s servers so you don’t lose your game in situations like this.
And then a monthly fee? I’m trying to stop my nickel and diming.
There’s ZERO fee to play TSTO. You can 100% play this game for free, and save your account in doing so. Whoever told you it costs money to have an EA/Origin account for TSTO was sadly mistaken.
I see the problem. EA PLAY. Every time I searched for a way to sign up I was shunted towards EA Play, which requires a monthly fee. I finally went to the help page and found the basic sign up link (underneath a leopard.) Thanks for getting me to try again! I shan’t be losing THIS town.
Oh yea, that’s totally different than the account needed for TSTO! Glad it worked out for you!

You will find that you will progress in the game much more quickly due to last experience. I lost my first TSTO world because like you I didn’t think an EA account was necessary. It’s a hard lesson, I feel your pain!

Any new Samsung S21 owners out there? Just got my new phone and the game is SUPER zoomed in, like one house fills up half the screen. Has anyone experienced this?
Mine won’t arrive until I think next week…
I downloaded the app twice (which takes forever) and it is still all zoomed in. I am dealing with it for now, hoping an update comes along that fixes it
Did you get your new phone yet? Is it zoomed in? I tried getting help with EA, they just suggested the list of generic solutions (uninstall/reinstall, clear the cache, etc). They also suggested an app that doesn’t exist to adjust the screen resolution (but I don’t want to change the screen for my entire phone! ) this has happened before with a new phone, I just waited it out and it got fixed eventually by EA
Mine is slated to ship until next week. So i probably won’t have it until the end of the month. But I remember this happened when I got the S6 or s8 (i can’t remember which one), when it first came out. Eventually, it was fixed. It’s really annoying but it’s a coding issue that needs to be corrected. Sometimes takes them awhile to adjust for new devices that come out.
I thought you didn’t post the showoff post because of the new event starting but didn’t realise that there wasn’t many submissions. Ephraim, I like your simple yet effective use of the parking lots and fences. HondoRiley, I love the Aliens outside the front of Serenity Ranch and that you combined the ranch and research center.
I got some designs done from the new year and Christmas events but I haven’t uploaded them yet. I’m hoping to add them here sometime in the week because I haven’t participated in showoffs recently. I am also hoping to participate in the next showoff for the Love and War event considering how 11 of the 20 prizes in the update are buildings and decorations.
I like trying to add buildings to each other it makes them look a little bigger plus it saves on some space it seems like .

That happened to me this morning ….. Take a day off from Tapping,, EA will probably fix the Network by tonight.
