Love and War 2021 Prize Guide: Act 1, Prize 5 Temperance

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the event…time for another fun and exciting prize post!  Yes, I know they’re your favorite, don’t even try to deny it.  Ok, you can deny it.  I think we probably feel the same way about these….but they still must be done! Otherwise, what else would I refer people back to when they ask what something does 6 months from now?  Act 1 of the Love and War event consists of 2 new decorations, 1 building, and one new character. (oh and one Mystery Box token…)

So let’s take a look at the final prize on the Act 1 Prize Track: Temperance, a new full character for Springfield…

Temperance is a  brand new character for Springfield and part of the Love and War Character Collection:

Temperance: This future town is so complicated. New buildings appear all the time. There’s a tavern. Perhaps they can give me directions.
Moe: Oh, heya Midge. So you finally decided to mix up the wardrobe, eh? Retire the ol’ green dress?
Barney: Yeah. What’s with that getup anyway? Did I miss another Civil War reenactment?
Temperance: Who’s Midge? My name is Temperance. Could one of you fine gentlemen tell me where I am?
Moe: Hot diggity, a Marge look-a-like! My Dear Sky Finger letters finally paid off. Time to turn on the ol’ Moe charm.

Temperance

Moe: Look no further for assistance, madam. This here is the fine town of Springfield. And uh, where might you be from?
Temperance: I hail from the island of Nantucket.
Moe: Well don’t you worry, Moe here will be your guide.
Temperance: You are Moe? Your name is on the sign outside. You are the proprietor of this establishment?
Moe: Well, technically with the foreclosure…it’s complicated.
Temperance: I see…
Moe: But yeah, I’m Moe. So, uh, you gots a boyfriend?
Temperance: Well… it’s complicated…
Moe: I see…

Temperance: A date?! I’ll have you know that, unlike my husband, I take my marital vows very seriously!
Moe: Whoa, temper, temper Temperance. Look, a date with me is just two people talking. There ain’t nothin’ romantic about it.
Temperance: My apologies. In that case, a date would be fine. But you’re sure this isn’t something intimate?
Moe: Most definitely. *picks up phone* Hello? Gilded Truffle. Reservation for two, please… Yeah, the dark part of the joint.

Temperance

Temperance: This restaurant is fancy, but I’m worried it may be too romantic. The napkins look like little swans and when they face each other they form a heart!
Moe: No, that’s not romantic. It’s a cardiovascular warning from the health department. Yeah, that’s it. They’re very strict. So, you ready to eat?
Temperance: I am rather hungry, but I don’t recognize most of the items on this menu. What is “couple’s fondue”?
Moe: Oh, that’s just a meal with two long forks where youse feeds each other. It’s, uh, very professional.
Temperance: Huh, well I’m a little out of my element. Would you mind ordering for me? I just want to admire all these candles surrounding our table.
Moe: Sure thing. Uh, waiter, I’ll have the caviar and she’ll have the oysters. And another bottle of wine please. You know, the businessman’s special.

Moe: Did yous enjoy the meal?
Temperance: I certainly did. The food in this town is fantastic. Well, it’s getting late. Would you mind walking me home?
Moe: Well, you see the thing is, around here it’s normal after a meal to go look at the stars. Under a blanket. And just talk.
Temperance: It is? I see. Well, when in Rome…
Moe: Yeah sure. But again, this is Springfield.

Temperance: This place is lovely. What’s the name of it again?
Moe: Tongue-Kiss Point. But don’t pay no attention to the name, it’s French and doesn’t translate to English right.
Temperance: Don’t look now, but there’s a couple cuddling over there.
Moe: My goodness! I tell you, some people just ain’t decent. Makes you wanna…maybe try out what they’re doing just so you can…ya know, understand the depths of their, uh…their indecency.
Temperance: I think I can see the depths of it just fine from here.
Moe: Yeah, me too. Total depths.

Temperance

Temperance: Well, thank you for a lovely evening, Moe. This town may have some strange traditions, but it’s good to know it’s got decent people in it, like you.
Moe: Aw shucks, Temperance. Tonight wasn’t anything special… Just a completely normal non-romantic date that’ll probably make me have to miss my rent payments for the rest of the year.
Temperance: Perhaps we can do this again sometime?
Moe: Only if Barney pays his full bar tab.
Temperance: Moe, do not think me forward but, upon our first farewell, my husband and I shared a goodnight kiss. Do you think that would be proper?
Moe: I sure do!
Temperance: Good. Then I’ll send him right out. Good night!
