Where Did THAT Come From- Wolfguy Jack, Greaser’s Cafe, and Homer’s Motorcycle

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

In an effort to bring back some posts you guys said you were missing, I’m once again donning a TSTO cap that’s not too familiar for me.  This time to tackle a WDTCF post.  I’m not Wookiee, or Bunny, or Safi, but hopefully, I do y’all proud! Here goes nothing…

(Although, believe it or not, this isn’t my first WDTCF post.  I’ve actually done a few…like this one on Moe’s House, this one on the Street Cleaner, and this one on the greenhouse…so I guess I’m not a total NOOB at this 😉)

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

For this post, let’s tackle a few of the items from the latest mini-event to hit our pocket-sized towns…Springfield Choppers.  Time to examine where Wolfguy Jack, Greaser’s Cafe, and Homer’s Motorcycle all get their origins from…

All three of these items (as well as a bunch of returning items, like Ramrod and Meathook) come from the 1999 episode, Take My Wife, Sleaze” S11, E8.

Things kick off in the episode with The Simpsons watching TV…man have the Guiness Book of Records, Records gotten gross!

The first commercial that appears on TV shows Wolfguy Jack and Greaser’s…

“Hey Remember the 50s? Remember television, Coca-Cola and Dick Clark? Come join me, Wolfguy Jack at Greaser’s Café where it’s 1955 every day of the year baby*!”

*Actual year may vary. Consult Calendar for current year.  A ‘50s-style restaurant.

And then we see Wolfguy drive off in a 50’s Convertible…DDD Guy Fieri style:

Of course, this episode came out in November 1999, and Diners Drive-ins and Dives didn’t premiere until 2007, so we know they’re not actually poking fun of Guy here.  But woah…did The Simpsons predict Guy Fieri?!

Anyway, The Simpsons are enamored by the idea of the Greaser’s Cafe and Bart says they should go that night for dinner!  Homer then says they should wait a month and then go.  So exactly 1 month later, the Simpson Family strolls up to Greaser’s Cafe…

Inside the Cafe is all decked out in 50’s decor.  There are cars for booths, posters on the wall, and the waitresses are even on rollerskates!  It does look like a happening place to be…

Of course, even the bathrooms are themed and poor Lenny can’t figure out which bathroom to use!

The menu is also 50’s themed and features: Allen Ginsburgers, Unamerican Cheese Sandwich, and Polio Dogs.  Yum!

Then we find out it is dance contest time!  And Marge gives Homer this “let’s dance” look, to which Homer replies no way!  He’ll divorce her if he has to!  Then he finds out the grand prize is a 1950’s Harley…

Homer will do anything to win that Harley!  So he stands on the booth and declares that he needs a dance partner!  He then points to Marge and says “what about you?” and she replies “Okay, Daddy-o”…

Loads of our favorite Springfield couples join the dance contest, and they’ve all got some moves!  Look at Manjula and Apu get down!

Of course, Homer and Marge blow them all away with their awesome dance moves!

And as Wolfguy puts it:

“Well well well.  I’ve never seen such reckless disregard for a wife’s well being in my life”

Homer wins!

And Wolfguy Jack declares that the ’50s will live forever….or for 3 more days when he goes out of business!  I dunno Jack, maybe you shouldn’t have given away Harleys for winning a dance contest!

Of course, now that Homer’s won the Harley he actually has to ride it!  When Bart realizes he doesn’t know how to ride it he decides to help him, after laughing about it for a few days first!

Watching Homer learn to ride the motorcycle is pretty hilarious!  It ends up through the fence, through the window, and through the roof!  And some of you will recognize this scene from our games…

Eventually, Homer gets the hang of it, and can’t get enough of his Harley!  He drops Bart off in his classroom on the motorcycle, takes it to church, and even has it in his bedroom at night…engine revving and all!

Eventually, Homer realizes that in order to really be cool he needs to start a biker gang! So he enlists Moe, Lenny, Carl, and Flanders…for his bumper pool table of course…to join the gang!

The name of their Gang?  Hell’s Satans…

Of course, that name doesn’t sit too well with Flanders, so some other suggestions are made.  Like Devil’s Pals and Christ Punchers.  But Homer tells them he’s the president and he gets to decide…plus he already had jackets made up!  Who can argue with that?

And he’s thrilled when a biker magazine prints a profile on his biker gang…although Marge isn’t too thrilled with the photo Homer sent in of her!

Yikes!

Anyway, this leads to the part of the story where Ramrod and Meathook come in.  You see they’re Hell’s Satans from Bakersfield…and they demand Homer stop using their name!  They even make him eat his jacket (and other merch) to prove their point.

You can find out more about Ramrod and Meathook in this WDTCF post…

Ultimately, the Hell’s Satans from Bakersfield decide to “crash” at The Simpson house…destroying it in the process. The bikers realize just how awesome Marge is and they decide to leave the Simpson house (finally!) and take Marge with them!  But don’t worry, none of them find her attractive!

Ultimately, Homer sets out on his Harley to find Marge and bring her home!

And tells Meathook one of my favorite lines from this episode…”My wife’s not a doobie to be passed around!  I took a sacred vow on my wedding day to bogart her forever.”

And after an epic battle in the Circle of Death with Meathook, he succeeds!  And he and Marge ride off into the sunset with a stolen keg of Duff!

Thus ending this funny little episode!

So there you have it my friends!  The hilarity behind Greaser’s Cafe, Wolfguy Jack, and Homer’s Harley!

And here are some stuff you may have missed from the Big Book of Simpsons about this episode:
-Wolfguy Jack is a thinly veiled caricature of the late radio great Wolfman Jack.
-The song they’re dancing to during the dance contest is called “Metal House Rock”, similar to Elvis’ Jailhouse Rock, and it’s performed by Hank Azaria as Johnny Bobby.
-Homer has training wheels on his Harley as he’s learning to ride it
-When Hell’s Satans say goodbye to Marge, Ramrod (Henry Winkler) calls her Mrs. S…reminiscent of Happy Days when “The Fonz” called Mrs. Cunningham Mrs. C

Thoughts on this episode?  Have you ever won anything at a dance contest?  Ever been to a 50’s cafe? Ever ridden a motorcycle? Been part of a biker gang?  Sound off below, you know we love hearing from you!

Oh and I’d also like to give a shoutout to justinmwat15, who in 2017 basically predicted this mini-event during our Main Event Contest.  Here was his entry:

My idea is a mini event based on one of my favorite episodes, “Take my wife Sleaze”.

The story would begin with us getting Meathook as a free character along with the building Poppa Wheelies for free(build time 4 hours).

Premium character/building combo would be Greasers Café with Wolfguy Jack for 150 donuts. Other premium offering would be 50’s style skins for various Springfielders like Wiggum and Skinner at 30 donuts each.  Homer’s bike would be a premium decoration for 50 donuts with a 2% bonus attached.

After the beginning of the story, the prize track would include the following free prizes:

  1. Homer’s Hells Satan outfit(skin)
  2. Joint animated task for Homer, Carl, Lenny, Moe, and Ned riding around on their bikes(and lawnmower for Lenny)
  3. Ramrod(freemium character)
  4. Trashed Simpson house(skin for Simpsons house)
  5. Circle of Death (decoration with bikes lined up in a circle) 6s build time

Some of the tasks for the bikers would include :

  1. Be a lowlife- 1hr, normal freemium payout
  2. Kill for waffles- 4hr, normal freemium payout
3.Harass a shopkeeper(joint task with Apu)- 8hr, normal freemium payout
    4. Fill out a resume-24hr, normal freemium payout

The basic storyline for the event is that after the Hells Satans left Springfield, they tried living a normal productive life but without Marge’s guidance, they soon fell back into their old ways. They now have returned to Springfield to take Marge with them for good to lead them back down the straight and narrow path. Plus, Meathook has been unable to move past the fact that Homer beat him in the circle of death and wants a rematch. Homer realizes it’s up to him to stop them so he reforms his gang to run the bikers out of town for good. The storyline would include the bikers destroying various buildings around town and Homer and his gang chasing them(and then being chased by them) around town and eventually leading to a final rematch in the circle of death.

So that’s my submission. Hope you enjoy and thank you for your time.

I thought Homers motorbike was the one he found in the movie before riding it around the dome.. forgot he had two

  2. I am going to be very very VERY unhappy if Homer doesn’t have a task on his Harley

  3. P.S.

Once a year out here turns into Greaser’s Paradise as Las Vegas still hosts the largest Rockabilly Weekend (it’s grown to 4 Days) and Car Show (now 2 Days!).

  4. Thanks Alissa!
Reading about this Episode is like dining at my ‘local restaurants’ 😋:

FatBurger (home of Turkey 🍔’s and Sweet 🥔 🍟’s and Fat Cut 🍟’s and milkshakes with hand-scooped 🍨 – think you can handle the 1.5 lb Triple King 🍔?!)

    https://fatburger.com/

Johnny Rockets (it’s 1950’s all day via Peanut Butter 🍌 Shakes served in stainless steel cups and Route 66 🍔 and 🥓 cheese 🍟 – Mrs. n’ I remember the original on Melrose Avenue!)

I better quit while I can …. or else I’ll get hungry, the Mrs. will get hungry (in this pandemic era? we can order from anywhere – anytime – any day – pickup and delivery!) 😋

Oh, Kudos to Justin for his predictions (very spot on!) 😀👍🏻

  5. Thanks for posting my old submission Alissa. It was fun to read that again as I had forgotten most of what I wrote lol. We really need that joint animated task. Come on EA! 🙂

  6. What about the land tokens building? Golden goose something. Is that ever coming back?

    • 🤷‍♀️ As much as I wish we did, we don’t hold a crystal ball. Only EA knows if/when they’ll bring it back. As soon as it appears in the files, or in the event packets we receive from EA we will pass it right along. But for now, we just don’t know.

Awesome WDTCF post! I missed that Ramrod is Henry Winkler! Love that man. I think Simpsons did predict Guy Fieri’s DD&D—the red car at least! Pretty good prediction for the mini event by Justin, too!
