It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

I just came across the weirdest tip, but it really does make a difference.
While it won’t help you, you can help your neighbours if you have the Gingerbread Simpsons sitting on their couch.
Visit any town with them on the couch and there’s nothing to tap.
Tap the couch in your town to make them scarper, leaving just the couch ( you don’t even have to store it ) and suddenly they’ll have buildings to tap.
I have no clue why such a simple thing would cause such a drastic glitch, but it does. I’ve got two towns running on two devices so I’ve tested and tested.
Hopefully EA can figure out why, but in the meantime you can help your friends.

I posted this on TOUK and the forum too, and just emailed a bug feedback report to EA
Hope now they have a cause they can find a fix
This glitch started around the same time this prize came out.
I’m going to try it out and see what happens.
The Gingerbread Couch was the third prize of the first act of the 2019 Christmas event which started on 12/11/2019. The glitch was first reported on this site on 12/13/2019. The problem probably got worst as more players earned this prize. Hopefully EA can fix this problem soon!!
Does this mean that I’ll be able to tap on my neighbors who I can’t tap on due to the glitch???

For someone who is somewhat homebound, like me, there actually have been a few benefits from this pandemic (although I’d happily give them all up to undo it all, of course, if I could!).

On a non tapped out update I had a job interview over zoom this past week. Now, I am just waiting to see if I got the job. Today I am presenting biscuit. He thinks his the boss.

Even if you don’t see anything to tap, try tapping the vandalize items. I have a number of friends that nothing shows up to tap, but if I try to vandalize them, it works. It’s really weird.
The picture is so big, all I can see is Biscuit’s paw! 😄 Good luck on the job interview, though!!!

I had that same issue and a friend contacted me to let me know that moving the family off the gingerbread couch will solve the problem. Worked for me. My activity from other Springfields went way up !

Hopefully EA will see this and get this going before Whacking Day: please offer Lumpy the snake again this year as a stand alone and not in a bundle.
I haven’t been able to get him the last few times he was offered because he is always in a bundle, and I must have an item in the bundle that is limit of one.
Please EA. I need that snake roaming my town eating children.

I think it’d be nice if EA offered bundles to all, but added a pop-up warning that you already own – – – and will only get – – -, are you happy to pay the bundle price anyway for just that / those item(s) ??
The obvious cancel and yes buttons and then if you’ve got donut confirm on you’d get a second chance to cancel too.
I’d have paid happily, like the Shelbyville bundle where I have the School so I can’t get the Speed E Mart. Might not be such good value but I’d pay the full bundle cost.
I’m sure other players who miss out repeatedly on bundled items might feel the same, and it’s easier than trying to get EA to delete an item or three from your game so you do get the bundles in store.
^^ they could easily add a little warning triangle icon where the info or star normally sits in the store panels too.
. . . of course it would be even nicer if they figured a way to reduce the cost for a part bundle . . .
Today I maxed-out all available land and have less then 50 (I’m guessing) items left in the year book. I face a future of accumulating donuts and dollars that are looking increasingly worthless.
Yet, can I put this game down? No, no I can’t. I have the urge to nuke everything and rebuild from scratch, simply because I’ll need to do something inbetween events. What did you long term players do when you reached this stage?

I suppose you could start it a B Game, Nuke your Springfield (start over), or edit your Springfield of Content (if you were a Plopper like I was? it’s be nice to store Content and figure out what you want in Game App).

I play less frequently (fewer times a day) and don’t sweat anything anymore. I still have fun decorating when I’ve gotten new items from events. I put some characters on tasks I enjoy, rather than necessarily trying to max their income. I would NEVER nuke my town! If you’re tempted to do that, maybe try starting another new town instead? It’s not uncommon for players, especially long-term ones, to have more than one town….
I am eager for a Simpson’s Easter Event!! I sure hope there is one. Just a basic egg hunt would be awesome. I want a chance at acquiring the really old stuff, and some “normal” Easter decor, and for something new, a giant animated Peep. Mmmmmm. Peeps. *drools*
Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s a happy Sunday for me because, finally, just after midnight last night, I managed to score my appointments for the Covid-19 vaccine, and at the place, times, and “brand” of vaccine I ideally wanted! By the end of April, I should be able to resume a somewhat more normal life (albeit, still wearing a mask, of course, to protect others!). Of course, this assumes the variants don’t get too ugly. But, for now, I’m celebrating! 🎉

You’re well protected within a week of the first jab of any of the two dose vaccines, but by waiting for the booster, the longer it’s left ( within reason ) the better and longer lasting the end results
Actually it is not necessarily 12 weeks between jabs. In the UK many are now having there 2nd jab earlier than this. Just depends on availability of vaccine & the numbers of vulnerable people that have to be innoculated.
12 weeks? So does that mean you have to wait that long (plus some?) to really be protected? I was happy to find out I was getting Pfizer, since it has a slightly shorter period between shots (and after the last shot, I believe) than Moderna (and more effective than Johnson & Johnson against more mild infections), although they say that the best vaccine is whichever one you can get NOW! 🙂
No, I think it has more to do with availability. The US has by far the most vaccine supply, other countries are spreading it out further between shots to vaccinate more people upfront (ie 1 shot in more people is better than no shot). Saf actually just told me that in Canada because they were in short supply they switched to 4 months between shots as well.
They recommended the 3 or 4 week period between them, and then 2 weeks after your second dose you’re supposed to be “fully” protected. But it’s ok to wait longer if necessary. The US is just at a large advantage when it comes to the supply (DPA), so we’re able to follow the recommendations from the manufacturers.
I had Pfizer too, as did nearly all of my family. Although my 95-year-old grandfather had Moderna. because that’s what the VA was giving out. And my little sister (teacher) had J&J. I think they’re trying to give the teachers J&J so it’s one and done, and they can get back quicker.
Oh, yes…of course! I had forgotten about that, which I had actually heard about before (although not with exact time frames). Thanks for the reminder!
Again in the UK we are well ahead of schedule with our vaccination programme, enabling more people to have a 2nd jab. Most over 60’s will have both by end of May or sooner.

Last week I received my second,
this week I get my ‘annual’ blood tests and physical (didn’t happen last year)
Next week, a trip to the barbershop 💈. Last trip was early last year.
And, of course, there is the dentist and a myriad of other medical appointments
And OTHER appointments delayed and deferred.
Same here… Can’t wait to have someone other than me cut my hair! Also, this past year is the first time in about 30 years that I didn’t have my regular dental checkups and cleanings which I usually do twice a year. And I’ve been wanting to get an appointment with the dermatologist, to do a general review of my skin all over, just to make sure there’s nothing there that shouldn’t be! (I think it’s probably been 15-20 years since I’ve die that.) Also, I have a couple of friends who have gotten vaccinated (or are in the process of getting vaccinated) who I’d love to have lunch with for the first time in over a year!
