Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Just giving y’all a little reminder that we’re expecting a brand new multi-event to hit our App Stores later today. This update will change the splash screen on your game for the new event, BUT the new event itself won’t start until tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
Curious what’s in the new update? Well, if you missed it last week you can check out our detailed spoilers video here…
Don’t want to look at spoilers, but want to know who to keep free? Well, you’ll need Bart free to start things off. You’ll also need the following characters free in your Springfield to complete event quests: Homer, Marge, Lisa, Flanders, Skinner, Wiggum, and Frink (if you have him). Now, I’m not 100% certain until the event hits the files, but based on the Act 1 synopsis I would also keep Mr. Burns and Smithers free. And I will update more on who is needed for tasks once the update hits the files.

I’ve downloaded the update, but event won’t start. Anyone else having this problem?

I downloaded the update thru the app store and started the game, did it work for you?
The event started at 11am ET (about 10 hours ago). When the original comment was written it was before 11am et, so the event hadn’t started yet….
I used to come here for any info in every tapped out update, but whatever you’ve done to this website layout has made this site trash. I’ll definitely not be using this site anymore.
We didn’t do anything. WordPress made updates and changed the format for some people. I still haven’t gotten a direct answer from folks about what makes it difficult to use. Is it that it’s in desktop mode on a mobile device? Or is there something else? We can’t fix the issue unless we know what the problem is.
It looks like the desktop mode is showing up for people using mobile devices.
Thanks! Not sure why that makes it difficult though lol I see desktop mode on my phone and it doesn’t seem like it’s a super big deal. 🤷♀️ But I’ll reach out to WordPress and see if there’s a way to put the mobile view back on.
Alissa, it seems the issue is now the same as the one familyguyaddicts has, WordPress no longer shows mobile version for certain themes or something, I forget what exactly they did. It happened shortly after Bunny stepped down and Russian Tigger tried to figure it out, but has not been successful. I have adjusted to using it now, but still don’t like it myself.
It’s not technically a problem, but it is bothersome to navigate and read the desktop version on a phone as you do have to zoom in/out everytime to read/write things clearly … however, if anyone is interested, I’m not sure if it’s an Android/Samsung thing or not, but I do have an option to use ‘Simplified View’ which makes it more mobile friendly, but does remove some features and design elements.
I would upload a screenshot of a before and after, but WordPress still hasn’t figured out how to allow attachments in comments, but I know you’re smart enough and can see for yourself. Maybe a different theme will give better results, change is good right?
No matter what changes, everything you do (and Pat and Safi) for Tapped Out is truly appreciated, by most if not all of us.
Thanks for letting me know! I’m going to reach out to WP and see if we have options to bring back the mobile theme. It may be that we have to change our theme completely. I know the theme both sites use is pretty old, but we liked it and I fought with WP to keep using it. But that could be the issue…
P.s don’t like the new page, whatever word press have done just doesn’t work for me very well.
I don’t know what you see differently. Is it that it’s desktop mode? I looked on Android, in both regular and incognito mode and don’t really see a difference other than it looks like it does when looking on a desktop

Lots of New Content / Premium Content! Tappers have options how they want to play (or not Tap).
I’m getting used to the Gil Deal not being a part of the Event (it’s a separate Questline, it’s not being offered for 199 🍩’s – 150 sprinkles – 🤖 Willie looks amusing!)

I almost would rather see Gil come on a separate update in-between mini and multi-events…
Having a non-event-supporting Gil Deal would be great as stop gap between events.
Although… I usually don’t bother with the new character’s storyline until after finishing the prize tracks.

I just feel like it’d be a great “something to do, while there’s nothing to do” item. Since the Gil deals have little to do with the event itself…

That’s probably one of my few Gripes …. EA offers us up another Gil Deal with a Premium Character that doesn’t help obtain Event Currency.
So, far, I have only one Gripe (two if you count the Load Screen), we get a new Building after collecting 115 Event Currency (a keeper) but we have to collect 155 Event Currency for Decor (that’s going right into Storage).
Character Dialogue is great
Has anyone else had trouble logging into the game late yesterday and this morning? It forces me to sign in, then gives me the blue screen and says that a login error occurred. iOS 14.4.2
I’ve seen a few folks have issues in various places. Wondering if it’s related to the specific server. Have you tried logging in on EA.com to see if you’re successful there?

If you’re successful on EA.com then it’s likely a specific issue with your account on the TSTO Servers. If you’re not successful then it’s an issue with your account and EA.
I’m not having any issues logging into EA games’s website. Hopefully it’ll resolve itself when the update comes out.
That’s good because that means it’s isolated to the server and not your account itself. Hopefully, the update will correct the issue. Fingers crossed for you!
I wound up deleting the game from my phone, rebooting, and reinstalling the game. It worked! Thanks for your help! 😃
