Rise of the Robots Act 2 is Live! The Rundown and What You Need To Know

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Robots are coming, the Robots are coming! Get ready for a dystopian Springfield, as the robots try to take over!  Can they be stopped?  It’s up to you to save Springfield in the latest event to hit our pocket-sized towns…Rise of the Robots!  As always, loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up…

Remember, this Act will still be playable until the event ends on May 12th.  However, Act 3 will start on April 25th (Note the Sunday start date).

Things kick off for Act 2 with some dialogue between the Announcers, Bart, Frink Jr, and their robots…

Rumble Announcers: We know you’ll be excited for this one, folks! Two local contenders meeting for this week’s championship bout on ROBOT RUMBLE!
Rumble Announcers: That’s right! It comes down to Professor Frink and Frink Junior’s Smashius Clay versus Bart Simpson’s Chief Knockahomer!
Rumble Announcers: I hope they rip each other’s wiring out!
Rumble Announcers: And then eat it!
Rumble Announcers: Goosebumps!
Frink Jr: My dad says we’re going to win because we’re smarter than you!
Bart: Your pocket calculator is smarter than I am — but I’m smart enough to get a whole team of nerds to build my robot!
Frink Jr: Good glayvin!
Smashius Clay: I shall float like a Bluetooth butterfly and sting like a biomimetic bee!
Chief KnockaHomer: I’m going to strike you repeatedly in the head with my wooden mallet. From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow! AAAAAAH-AH!
Smashius Clay: That is terrifying. Please stop.

This triggers the Act 2  questline, Super Robo Cyber Slam, and is followed by a 4hr task for Bart, Chief Knockahomer, Frink, and Homer, as well as a task to collect Act 2 Currency (155).  Super Robo Cyber Slam is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of this Act’s prizes.

Let’s take a look at what else is in store during Act 2…

Here’s the Act 2 Synopsis from EA:

In spite of Lisa’s nagging, Bart isn’t concerned about the Frinks’ upgraded robot and continues to celebrate his Robot Rumble championship instead. Meanwhile, Professor Frink and Frink Jr.’s improved robot defeats every bot it faces in the Robot Rumble Arena – and after each victory it somehow enslaves the robots it has defeated! Bart becomes worried about this turn of events and pleads with the nerds to improve his robot too, but they say there’s nothing they can do to help him. In their championship rematch, Bart’s bot is defeated and enslaved by the Frink’s robot, which then announces its intention to enslave the humans of Springfield!

As I stated above, you’ll go right into the Super Robo Cyber Slam questline, which is what the Act 2 story will follow. This questline is how you’ll unlock the Act 2 prizes.

The currency we’re working on collecting for Act 2…

DO NOT FORGET TO SCROLL UP AND DOWN IN THE TASK BOXES (PICTURED ABOVE) TO BE SURE TO COMPLETE ALL TASKS FOR EACH PART.

I’ll lay out specifically what you need to do for each part in the turbo tappin’ post, but I don’t want any of you to get messed up with this.  So don’t forget to SCROLL!

Here are the prizes for Part 2:

Robot Rumble Studio (Building) 155
Award Show Enforcement Bot (Decoration) 115
Ralph-O-Cop (Pet) 115
Smashius Clay (Decoration) 155
Frink Jr. (Character) 195

Questline, which I’ll post later, will show how each is unlocked.

Characters who can complete tasks for Act 2:
Homer
Marge
Bart
Lisa
Ned
Skinner
Wiggum
Frink
Robot Rumble Announcers (New Premium)
Love Bot (New Premium)

Each Act will have a new premium character that will earn event currency.  From what I can see, based on the info from EA, characters will be used throughout the entire event.  So Act 1 will be used in Act 2, 3, and 4…etc.

Characters earn:

5 /4hrs for Freemium
8 /4hrs for New Premium

Act 1 Prizes

These are STILL unlockable if you haven’t completed that prize track.  You have until the event ends to unlock ALL the prizes.  So keep going with the earlier Acts if you haven’t yet finished it. You have until May 12th to finish those…

Premiums

Here’s what’s included today…

New stuff…

Love Bot and Mr. Sparkle Factory – 150 Donuts.  Leaves stores when the event ends…

All other returning content, that arrived during Act 1 remains until the event ends. (including the Mystery Box )

And that’s it my friends.  The details of Act 2 of the Rise of the Robots Event!

  1. I like the look of the items in this act. The Robot Rumble Studio and Smashius Clay would go great with the Robot Rumble Arena. The Award Show Enforcement Bot could also work with the studio and arena but it can also work as security for the Heights Theater or any other theaters or award ceremony areas. I’m not sure how the Mr. Sparkle Factory and Love Bot are related to each other (maybe Love Bot was created in Japan along with the Mr. Sparkle dishwasher detergent) but they seem like good items. Ralph-O-Cop seems like a fun NPC and it would be cool if it interacted with Chief Knockahomer. I’m glad to see Frink Jr. has also been added with the event and I’m also glad to see that he is a prize.

  2. Anyone have advice on this weird bug. I sent a ton of people to the Krusty Burger for a daily task. I then clicked on it to collect the $$ and XP, but Burns is stuck in the Krusty Burger. I click on Burns with his cute green check and I go to the Krusty burger with nothing to click. I leave for 4 hours and I come back and the Krusty Burger is again ready for me to collect for all those people, and I collect and Burns is still stuck. I need Burns to complete a task in the event, but I can’t so I am stuck? Before I contact EA, wanted to know if anyone else ran into this.

    • Yea it happens every once in a while. Store and replace the Krusty Burger, it’ll solve the problem.

    • Need to drop the Krusty Burger into inventory. It will free the people stuck inside. BTW… it’s a good farming opportunity. You can toggle back and forth on the friend zone and collect $$ and XP over and over again without waiting the 4 hrs. Keep collecting and leveling up until you get bored.

  3. I log in to my game and to my surprise the arena was animated with two mini robots 🤖 fighting. I am now glad to have it on my town before I was thinking 💭 of removing it but liked the two robot rumble announcers. I wish that characters weren’t stuck with the buildings. If you disliked the building you could put it in storage and keep the characters in town.

    • Pretty neat surprise with Act 2!

    • I both agree and disagree with you about the whole “characters been stuck with building thing.” On the one hand, I have a couple of characters in storage because the building (or whatever) they’re tied to just didn’t fit well in my town. OTOH, it’s very convenient sometimes to be able to get a character out of their task by just storing their building. (Also, some people make amusing tableaus with multiple chatters and are only able to get them all in the same area by using their buildings to “attract” them there.) So, there are defying pros and cons…

  4. It will be fun to get Frink Jr., but I don’t remember Frink Jr. having a wife. Did we ever see her in the show? Or was the kid conceived with a surrogate? (He looks too much like dad to be adopted!)

On a separate note…. I had a thought about events recently…. I know that crafting often felt like a real drag, but what if they brought crafting back, but gave you the option of crafting the items or purchasing them for donuts? That way, newer players could craft to get them, but longtime players could buy the items if they didn’t feel like investing the time to craft them (or hated crafting when it was a thing).

    • Yup Mrs. Frink was on the show…“Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy” S10, E6

    • Wait…Frink Jr doesn’t have a wife. Mrs. Frink is Frink’s wife…

    • In S02E17 “Old Money” (aka the one with Grampa’s friend Bea), when Grampa rejects Prof. Frink’s death ray proposal, Frink responds, “You know, my wife will be happy. She’s hated this whole death ray thing from day one.”

And in S03E24 “Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?” (aka the second Unkie Herb episode), Prof. Frink accidentally flies Frink Jr. out a nearby window in his remote control plane and says, “Oh dear, my wife is going to kill me.”

So Mrs. Frink has at least been acknowledged from early on!

      • Andrew

Those are 2 Fun Episodes to rewatch.

She’s not voiced, but Mrs. Frink has some funny Visual Character Tasks (I’m just as baffled as anyone that there is no permanent Character Tasks at the Building she comes with – the Screaming Monkey Medical Research Center).

        • What??? Then maybe I don’t have her, because I don’t remember that building at all! Or maybe I do have her and my memory is even worse than I thought. 🤦‍♀️

When did she enter the game? I could probably research that myself… I’m just being lazy and thought maybe someone remembers of the top of their head. If not, I’ll do the research.

  5. Thanks Alissa,

💜 How the Robot Rumble Arena is used for Character Tasks for Event Currency (I hope there are permanent Character Tasks there)

💜 How Characters Task at a variety of Buildings for Event Currency (we cannot say ‘Brown House Only’, unless that is all you have)

If I had a minor Gripe? It’s the amount of Event Currency to collect for certain Prizes (it is what it is, so best to enjoy the New Characters and Buildings, and leave it at that).

I encourage Tappers to take a look at which Episodes the new 🤖’s come from (some are a blink and you will miss it, but the Writers are taking Content and humorously presenting a Springfield about to be under 🤖 control – I’m enjoying that!)

Yes, I spent sprinkles on Act 2’s Premium Combo (I would spend more 🍩’s for a Man Lovebot Character to go with the Woman Lovebot Character).

2 Prizes done, back to work, Tap later 😀👍🏻

  6. Does anyone else always run into issues when they have to re-log into EA’s site? Everything it happens i receive errors for days. Happened again last night and still cant get in

    • Hi Tim,

Over at @EAHelp on Twitter there have been several problems with the TSTO Game App and they’re related to:

_, Network – some areas globally will have a temporary Network down (it’s usually a maintenance issue, it usually doesn’t last very long, it would be nice if EA told Tappers ‘we will be down for maintenance’)

_Origin Account – this is one of the last mobile games / games from EA that still requires you to create an Origin Account to login. As EA continues EA Play and EA Play Pro? I gather support for Origin will be minimal (just as we joke here on TSTO Addicts that whomever is running this Game App is a small dedicated Staff).

In the event you run into a problem trying to sign in / log in, please keep your name and password handy (these are two of several things that Customer Support will ask for). Use EA’s Help site, or Twitter (whichever you prefer), except on Sundays (any Tech Support has the day off).

Last year I was unable to login of the Game App for 18 hours , so I took a day off from Tapping. There have been Tappers who have had problems trying to sign in to the EA Website (for Help via Customer Support) and did the same thing …. just waited it out. I hope you find the solution that works best for you.
