Should You Buy Chili Blasters?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Spending actual cash on donuts for an item is once again here in TSTO.  This is something EA’s been rolling out over the last few years, and it’s a new bonus for actually spending cash on donuts. (instead of just farming them)  Where they attach a limited-time, item to one of the donut bundles sometimes in addition to bonus donuts.  This is the first time I recall seeing a limited-time BUILDING attached to this though…

And I want to be perfectly clear…you do not need to buy these items for the event itself.  You can still play this game, and complete all the tasks and prizes, 100% free.  These cash-for-items are a new type of premium currency…because donuts have been so devalued with donut farming.

This time around we’re being offered Chili Blasters + an animated task for Homer, for a tray of 132 Donuts ($9.99 in the US)..no bonus this time around.  While it’s hard for me to sit here and tell you if you should or shouldn’t spend actual cash on the game (spoiler, I think you should always spend at least a small amount…even if it’s $.99/year on the game if it brings you joy and you want to see it continue) I thought I’d do a quick breakdown of Chili Blasters and anything else you might be curious about.

So let’s consider this an abbreviated Should I Buy…

So what is the deal?  When you can find it in the Currency Tab of your Store (also by hitting Get More)…

Basically, spend $9.99 on a Tray of 132 donuts and you get Chili Blasters (building) plus a new animated task for Homer.

And yes, for those outside of the US I know my price is probably lower than yours.  EA only charges 9.99 USD for this package…anything over that that you are currently paying goes to Google/Apple/Amazon for Tax and Duty etc.  EA only collects the 9.99.

It’s nice to see EA sticking with the $9.99 price point on this, but considering this is a building and NOT a character I wish it was offered at the $4.99 price point.  But that’s just me…

So here’s a breakdown on Chili Blasters…

-Building for Springfield
-11×6 in size
-Instant Build
-Earns $135,15xp/4hrs
-Improves Consumerism +20
-Can Be placed on grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt
-Homer has a 4hr visual task there (Eat Chili) which earns the standard $175, 45xp
-Comes with some short dialogue and a task for Homer
-From E Pluribus Wiggum” S19, E10

Here’s a look at the dialogue it comes with…

High-Powered Hotness
Homer starts

Homer: Hi there. Let’s see… I think I’ll take a number three with a diet Buzz Cola.
Squeaky Voice Teen: What spiciness level on the chili? It goes from one to INSANE.
Squeaky Voice Teen: Yes, that. Ok, “Insane”. Got it. And what chili firehose pressure? It goes from “water leak” to “full scale riot”.
Homer: I’ll take it full scale. And put your thumb in front of the hose so it gets stronger.
Squeaky Voice Teen: Okay, now sign this waiver and open wide.
Make Homer Eat Chili- 4hrs

And for those curious what the task looks like for Homer, here’s a little video I recorded of it in my game…

That’s pretty much it on Chili Blasters.  A fun building, with a fun animated task for Homer.  I did pick it up, but again I wish the price point was at $4.99 vs. $9.99…but I still got it anyway.

What are your thoughts on Chili Blasters?  Have you made the purchase?  Will you be making the purchase? Thoughts on Homer’s task?  Sound off below you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I guess time has come to finally bid farewell. I can no longer log in to the game and contacting EA support is madness, as language barrier seems to become an issue and I was unable to resolve the log in issues to the game. I was able to log into the EA website with my email and password, so I am not inputting incorrect information. + I am tired of the app bumping us off

  2. I have bought it today and it does not appear, where do I find it? It is also not in my inventory and the game offers me to buy it again?

    • Check to make sure the purchase went through, it’s possible it didn’t go through. After it should appear in your inventory and not be available for a second purchase.

  3. I usually buy these things just to support the game though eventually this game will end and in the long run just a waste of money.

I have over 100K donuts now so the donuts are worthless but I kind of wish they offered a character rather then just a building and a 4hour task. Like said for only a building and a task it probably should have been priced at around 4.99. But like i said I purchase it support of the game.

  4. Apple figure out people would pay $0.99 for a song. I would wager that an item with good animation and donut payout (instead of tray) they would actually earn more charging $1 than $10.

  5. Time they fixed problem with code so we can get back into game haven’t been able to play since up date noone seems to listen just not fair

  6. This was my first purchase with real money for this game in 8 years! I loved the building and the task for Homer is just hilarious! Although, I strongly believe that the sweet price would be $4.99. If it was that much, maybe I could have gotten the limited characters offered in the past events for cash as well!

  7. $4.99 seems more reasonable than $9.99 for a Building (that Visual Character Task for Homer looks great!) I’m ignoring EA’s 🍩 deals until they can:

    _offer up a Land Expansion
    _solve the Login Code Glitch

EA did get another ‘thank you’ for this Mini Event as I Tap thru both Questlines (well 3 considering I have Bob’s Big Buddha Building). 😀

    • I have almost the same deal. I’m not boycotting, but I have vowed to buy the $100 package if they ever fix that roll back glitch I’ve been living with for years now. Sadly, I don’t see that one ever happening.

      • Tim

I’m sorry you were affected by the Rollback Glitch (it’s sad to say that occurred 3 years ago and EA for it – Tappers end up having to work things out with Tech Support to try to get a huge amount of 🍩’s back and then work their way to getting back to the same Level with the same Content).

I can see already this Login using a Code is going to make Tappers quit (especially those with an A game B game C game), which is a shame.

  8. I usually buy these for one of my towns but not all three. I think I’m going to pass on this one for now. I want to wait and see if they fix the email verification process since that will determine whether I keep playing in all three or abandon two of them. If I have to throw away all that hard work I’m not investing any more cash.

  9. I’m only commenting in hopes that EA sees this. What the actual dang heck? I’ve been logged out 3 times recently (nothing new right?) but now instead of my password I need to go to my email for a code. Enter that code and … “an error occured”. After four or five attempts the first two times this happened, eventually I was able to log in. Now nothing. I’m almost finished with this stupid mini event and two task cycles away from the final prize. Now I’m just finished with EA’s BS. SERIOUSLY.

I can understand your frustrations, however you probably would get a quicker response from EA via Twitter @EAHelp (just tweet the problem and wait for Tech Support to respond), or the Help website (Alissa has posted it already) – definitely have a desktop or laptop handy on the side and good luck.

  10. I would not buy this but would happily pay for a “collect all” on character jobs!!

    • Meme

I ❤️ the idea of a 2nd Sky Finger Statue that collects from all Character Tasks (say every 8 hours). I’d spend 🍩’s on that (or maybe $2.99). 🤔

  11. I have some Google rewards credit burning a hole in my pocket. Of this were a character, I’d pull the trigger.
