Where Did THAT Come From- General Chang’s Taco Italiano and Chili Blasters

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

For this post, we’re going to cover two of the restaurants from the Foodie Fight mini-event.  They’re two quick blips on the world of The Simpsons, but they’re both from the same episode.  So let’s take a look at where General Chang’s Taco Italiano and Chili Blasters came from…

Fortunately, both of these items are from the same episode…and it’s a different episode than the episode this event is based on.

E Pluribus Wiggum” S19, E10

These two items are really “quick-blips” in the long run of the episode, so I’m only going to cover where the items are from, and not the whole episode. But for those who want to know more about this specific episode, here’s the synopsis from FOX:

Springfield becomes the site of the first presidential primary. The townspeople soon get sick of all of the presidential candidates sucking up to them, and decide to support their own write-in candidate: Ralph Wiggum.

So you might be wondering what that synopsis has to do with these two random restaurants in Springfield.  Well, it’s how the episode gets started.  Marge tells Homer he needs to go on a diet, so Homer decides he’s going to get one last hurrah in with the food he so loves.  He takes a trip down Fast Food Boulevard.

Here’s where, at 3:40, we see him drive by General Chang’s Taco Italiano…

Looks just like it does in our games…complete with outdoor seating and all!  Of course, we don’t see CBG buying all the burritos there during the episode.

And that’s it with General Chang’s!  Just a quick drive-by for Homer as he makes his way down Fast Food Boulevard.

As he continues his gourge fest we see him eating a giant sub (which the workers can’t make fast enough), pizza topped with fries and a lobster…cardboard box and all, and finally, at 04:05 we see him make his way to Chili Blasters.

Where he’s outside with a poncho and goggles ready to be blasted with Chili…

And that’s it!  All we see of Chili Blasters.  Mostly just the sign and the blasting of Chili, we don’t really get a good look at the building itself.

Anyway, Homer’s trip down Fast Food Boulevard ends with him throwing out the trash in his car…complete with an old car battery dripping with acid…at the Krusty Burger.  The car battery acid then causes a hole to appear in a gas line, and of course, Homer has to light a celebratory cigar and throws the still-lit match into the trash can.  This, as you might have guessed, sets off an explosion..and Homer’s beloved Fast Food Boulevard is blown to pieces.

I guess if Homer has to go on a diet no one can eat Fast Food in Springfield…

And that’s it my friends! The details behind two of the Foodie Fight Restaurants in Springfield!

Do you remember them from the show?  Have you unlocked the items yet?  Where have you placed them in your Springfield?  Sound off below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Fortune Cookie in a Sombrero (now that’s a Restaurant Sign!) and we will see if Chili Blasters ends up in a Black Friday Mystery Box (or not) …. thank you for letting Tappers know to watch ‘E Pluribus Wiggum’ Episode, Alissa. ☺️
