It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Clarification requested on The Moonshine Shack for purchase during the Tavern Trouble event.
I thought I’d seen a few people post here about experiencing a glitch if they already had the original Shack (with the 3 levels completed) AND then purchased a second one during this event. When a second Moonshine Shack is purchased, the originally obtained Shack automatically goes back to level one and no longer has levels 2 & 3.
I couldn’t find the comments from anyone speaking about the glitch here, so I
went to the EA Forum – several people were complaining about it there.
I’d like to purchase a second Shack but don’t want to risk losing the 3 Levels in my first Shack.
Alissa, Safi et al, what do you know about this, if anything yet?

As soon as I bought the second shack, the first one lost its other skins but it kept my favorite (skin level 2) so I am not really complaining about it but the new one I cannot store it and it is in the skin level 1, again I think I can’t really complain as it fits with other of my designs. However I read if you had the original shack stored or if you store it then it would be at level 1.

Based on superefrain7’s feedback I just got a second Moonshine Shack. (You can only purchase one additional Shack.)
I had my original Shack on level 3 when I purchased the second Shack – it stayed at that level after the purchase of the new Shack.

Is anyone else having issues with WordPress no longer sending notification emails for new posts and/or new comments here? I’m not getting a confirmation email for new notifications I sign up for, either, which they instituted a while back. I logged into my WordPress account and it looks like they’ve made major changes to the site….I was able to see that I’m subscribed to this blog, but can’t find the list of posts I’m subscribed to anymore! I do still seem to be subscribed to posts from before the change, as I’m still getting emails for new comments on those, but nothing more recent. Does anyone know what might be going on? Is it just me? Thanks, in advance, for any help!!
I’ll do some digging into this. Might take a little time, but I’ll try to see if there’s a known issue

I just made sure in WordPress to subscribe to the TSTO Addicts feed (so I get emails whenever there is a post).
I’ve done that, but, ever since they changed the interface, it’s not working! And I can’t find where to see there lists of posts (not sites) that I’m subscribed to. I’ve reached out to WordPress support, but their first response was not on point and now they want me to send them a bunch of info, which I guess I’ll do. But, my experience with them so far, (“Have you checked your junk folder?”) isn’t inspiring a lot of confidence that they’re going to solve my problem.

How do I get the lard lads donut factory? I saw something online about it only being available during a previous Black Friday promotion but I managed to get in my other game from somewhere else (I just don’t remember). How did everyone get there’s?
There are many different skins for Lard Lad, with some being exclusive to events. However, the easiest way to get Lard Lad is in the Mystery Box.
The Donut Factory was a November 2018 (?) item that cost 900 donuts and earns 6 donuts a day.
So, if it comes up again, it takes roughly 5 months to break even.
Is that the question?
I was lucky and got mine for free from a event mystery box a few month ago but I can’t remember what it was…
Same here, there is no way I’d pay 900 donuts. Freebie for me along with another item that gives 6:donuts, can’t remember what though.
Are you sure it was the Lard Lad Donut Factory that you got in a Mystery Box? Or was it a Lard Lad Donuts store? The stores don’t generate 6 donuts each day.

Fraggelino: You probably got it from the Gold Mystery Box from the Black Friday 2020 update 8 months ago.
John Millar: You thinking of CostMo as the other donut producing building which was also in the Gold Mystery Box along with the Lard Lad Donut Factory.
Mr. Snrub Jr.: The regular 6 donut mystery box has the Lard Lad Donuts stores in them but the Gold Mystery Box from last year’s Black Friday had the Lard Lad Donut Factory in it.

Santos, yes, I know the 6 donuts Mystery Box has Lard Lads as a possible win. Since I already had the Donut Factory I didn’t know anything about people getting the factory in that Gold Mystery Box last Black Friday.
I’m pretty sure I got mine through a mystery box because I wouldn’t have paid cash money for it, nor would I have spent 900 donuts at one time for it, even though I do farm donuts…I normally only keep 800-1000 at any given time…so I must’ve gotten mine out of a mystery box…keep your eyes open and make sure to scroll when looking through the boxes.

Black Friday Mystery Box item (like Tracey said it was originally a 600 🍩’s Building – next to the Sprawl Mart that also generates 6 🍩’s every 24 hours, so a total of 12 free 🍩’s a day).
Yeah those Black Friday Mystery Boxes are great (🍩 farm for that!) 😀
The Lard Lad Donut Factory (big pink building that produces 6 donuts every 24 hours) was available during the Black Friday 2018 update when you had to buy a Store Full of 900 Donuts (49.99 depending on what country you play the game in) to get it. It returned during the Black Friday 2020 update last year in the Gold Mystery Box along with CostMo (the other building that produces 6 donuts every 24 hours) so you could’ve got it in the mystery box with your free token or you bought some tokens with real money to get it.
I got mine in the mystery box last year along with CostMo and 40+ other items since I bought the Store Full of 900 Donuts for £49.99 last year to get them and the new Black Friday items.
