Into the Simpsonsverse Act 1 is Live! The Rundown and What You Need To Know

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Who’s ready to take a trip into the multi-verse?!  Get ready for the many Homer, and other Simpson, doppelgangers to invade our Springfields through the multi-verse portal in the latest multi-event to hit our Springfield’s…Into the Simpsonsverse!  As always, loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up…

Once again we see another multi-event in Springfield.  So love them, or hate them, they’re still here.  So let’s all try to make the best of this…

Anywho….things kick off with a series of 6s tasks for Burns and Smithers.

After you’ve completed the initial task you’ll kick off the Simpsonsverse Event!

First, remember this was an app store update available for download.  So if you haven’t already done so, and you don’t see the Splash Screen above for your game, head to your app store and update TSTO.  You may have to search the store for Tapped Out, as it doesn’t always appear on the update list initially…

Second, if you’re looking for details on what’s to come (beyond this first Act), so you can prep donuts, etc..check out the Spoilers post here.

Third, ALL of the details, as we post them, for this event will be linked on the Into the Simpsonsverse Event Page here.

Now on with the details for Act 1!

Here’s EA’s event synopsis:

In an effort to improve the power plant’s profits, Mr. Burns decides to turn on his Alternate Universe Computer to start bringing in cheap, undocumented labor. Things are going great until the newly hired help flees the terrible working conditions, and Mr. Burns has no choice but to bring in a detective from the same portal to bring them back.

The Alternate Universe Computer soon destabilizes, though, and starts opening up portals to the Simpsons multi-verse, not only bringing in Homers of every shape and size, but also Evil Godmother Burns who’s got her sights set on total multi-verse domination!

It’s now up to the merry band of multi-verse Homers to team up and put a stop to the godmother.

We should all know by now unless of course, you’re new to TSTO that the prizes for this event follow the same questline format to unlock as our regular mini-events do.

Just like every large event recently, this is not your typical Major Event.  And there are pros and cons to that, and everyone will find their own pros and cons.  And some people’s pro will be someone else’s con.

As always, I just ask that you have an open mind, and reserve judgment until we’re into the event.  It’s 5 weeks long, it should be fairly easy to complete, you’ll unlock a bunch of new prizes and no crafting to grind through,  so let’s just have some good old-fashioned TSTO fun! And, as long as you don’t rush things, you won’t get bored because it’ll change each week!

Here’s the event schedule:

Act 1 Starts August 4th (WEDNESDAY)
Act 2 Starts August 13th (FRIDAY)

Act 3 Starts August 22nd (SUNDAY)
Act 4 Starts August 31st (TUESDAY)

Event Ends September 8th, 2021 (WEDNESDAY)

As I stated above, the initial quests are 6s.   Once completed you’ll start the From the Red to the Black (and White) questline, which is the Act 1 story to follow.  This is how you’ll unlock the Act 1 prizes.

Note: Some of you have mentioned you are having trouble getting the event to start.  You need to download the latest update and the requirements for this are: Level 11 and you MUST have Burns unlocked.  It won’t trigger without those two.

Reading the Room

Blue Haired Lawyer: As you can see here, Mr. Burns, your power plant is in the red.
Burns: Cancel Disney+! I don’t know why I ever subscribed — my only streaming device is a ticker tape machine. The image resolution is decidedly meh, and every time I watch a movie I’m crushed beneath a mountain of paper!
Blue Haired Lawyer: We agree that cancelling Disney+ is a prudent way to save eight dollars per month, but the plant will still be many, many millions of dollars in the red.
Burns: We can pay our other bills with BiteCoin.
Smithers: I didn’t know you dabbled in cryptocurrency, sir.
Burns: In what now? I mean: set the hounds on the bill collectors.
Smithers: Ah, I see. BITE Coin. I’m sure they’d be able to evade them quite easily.
Burns: Are you saying they have some sort of dodge-coin? Perhaps if we used some kind of tether…
Smithers: Maybe we should look at some other strategies for improving worker productivity, sir.
Burns: You’re right! The greedy workers are the problem. Let’s move the plant somewhere where we’ll be given a free hand by a corrupt government and a gullible population manipulated by appeals to prejudice.
Smithers: We already did that, sir. That’s why we moved here from North Korea.
Burns: When you’re treating your workers even worse than the commies, you know you’ve done your part!
Smithers: Since we’ve maxed-out oppression, maybe we could try to toggle a few other levers, sir. Such as worker satisfaction and motivation.
Burns: Ew, gross. You said toggle.
Smithers: If we want to compete for today’s values-driven workforce…
Burns: Smithers, learn to read the room, will you? Now, quickly, to the basement! I’ve got just the thing to solve our financial problems.

And this triggers the entire story premise for each act…

(and yes, just like I did for the past multi-events, I’ll be posting full dialogue for this one before the next act starts)

Now let’s talk about what’s included…

Here’s the Act 1 Synopsis from EA:

The 1930’s workers are all too happy to find work in the modern day, but quickly realize the working conditions at the power plant are horrible and decide to flee. Recognizing he cannot go to the police, Mr. Burns instead opts to bring in a private detective from the 1930s, Noir Homer, to hunt down his missing employees.

Noir Homer teams up with Homer, the last person to see said employees, and the two track them down at the local church. Before Noir Homer brings them back to the plant, however, they spill the beans about the haphazard working conditions there. After hearing them out, Noir Homer decides that the portal is too dangerous to remain open, and heads back to reverse the portal and suck everyone back into their home universe.

This backfires, however, and instead of reversing the portal, Noir Homer accidentally opens a new portal to the ______ Universe.

DO NOT FORGET TO SCROLL UP AND DOWN IN THE TASK BOXES (PICTURED ABOVE) TO BE SURE TO COMPLETE ALL TASKS FOR EACH PART.

  1. HELP!!! I need help from my fellow Tappers. I recently purchased the Donut Tray Bundle that includes Pixel Homer. I when to donut store, purchased, approved, got the Purchase Successful notice. Three game restarted, I opened my inventory to the character tab and nothing. No Pixel Homer. He never popped up at any point. I ran through the steps of logging out and restarting game completely, still nothing. I went to Census, nothing found. I looked into character archive and he is still shaded, indicating he is not unlocked. I am stumped. I even went into donut store to see if he was still attached to the bundle. Nope only a tray of donuts and no Pixel Homer.

This is the first time this has happened in the many many years of play. If anyone has any advice on how to find him, please let me know. I will be forever grateful.

  2. Help!!! I have been a Tapper for many years now and this is the first time this has happened to me. I purchased the Tray of Donuts to get the Pixel Homer. I made the purchase, it was successful, game reloaded, I check my characters in storage, and nothing. No Pixel Homer. I looked in the character archive to see if he was still shaded or colored to indicate that he was collected, but still shaded. I went into store to see if the offer was still available and he is no longer offered with the tray.

If anyone had any advice on how to find him, please please let me know. I would be greatly appreciative. It was a major disappointment that it failed.

  3. Thanks to this update, I’m going to get in on the ground floor on investing in Dodgecoin and Bitecoin like Burns suggested.

  4. Is anyone else having crashing issues? I keep opening my game only for it to go back to my phone screen, and then getting a notification to say TSTO keeps crashing. It asks if I want to send feedback, and I have every time. Weirdly the game will open after I send feedback but the next time just crashes all over again.

    • Pointy

I got the Bart Simpson Screen of Death (aka Network Connection Issues) last night, which is usually a sign that I should quit trying to Tap and go to bed (it’s also half the reason why I expedite through an Act with 🍩’s!)

If you get the spinning 🍩 ? aka Game App isn’t letting you connect? Reboot your device (this usually clears the cache and solves the problem).

    • My game keeps crashing if I open it from Recents (Android), but starts fine if I hard-close the app and restart it.

      Testing? What’s that?

First the water and birdsong sounds at startup. Then the K9 Officer and King Snorky. Now this. EA just isn’t even trying any more.

  5. FYI, McAfee Web Advisor says “We tested this page and blocked content that comes from potentially dangerous or suspicious sites. Allow this content only if you’re sure it comes from safe sites.”

BTW, it nice to get a formally cash only item.

  6. Dogecoin!! 🐕

  7. Short synopsis…
Other than buildings and characters, it appears as though everything else is just a decoration that adds no bonus multiplier.
    Correct?
Sorry, my usual happy go lucky personality is submerged right now.

    • True…other than buildings and characters/skins….the only other prizes are decorations….duh….just kidding, but what else is there?…I’m not sure if they add to the percentage, but does it really matter much to long time players? I think a good idea would be to offer land…either just provide more…or how about exchanging the stupid tokens for a plot of land?

    • You are correct …. except for some returning Treehouse of Horror Content for 🍩’s (1% to .50% Bonus) no New Content in the Decor variety (so far) does much beyond Tap it once and be amused briefly.

I do like the Noir Building & Character (that should be plural for both by tomorrow), I’m with everyone that wouldn’t have mind Noir Roads, Land Tiles, Water Tiles (of course we are long overdue for a Land Expansion).

It’s odd seeing a new Mystery Box with Content I don’t have (I actually made use out of a new Token), then I realized it was Serfsons related. 😅

    • BTW,
      Thank you Alissa

  8. 2 months later of not being able to access the game I miraculously was able to log in. Let’s see how long that will last

  9. EA if you are reading: Please move the EA’s Privacy link and EA.Com link away from the Log In button. Fat finger folks are taken away 20% of the time.

  10. Anyone else having a K9 and King Snorky error on the magnifying glass? Other characters glitch in there too, but not sure if it’s like the too many items performance problem.
It started in the last event.
    Thanks.

  11. Well I’ve been kicked out of the game and I can’t get the verification code to work…this happened yesterday and I still can’t get in!!! I really don’t want to miss this event but so far it’s not looking good.

  12. According to the wiki page: Players can exchange any excess Gold Mystery Box Tokens for 12 donuts per token. How?

    • I love when people see things on Wiki and then want me to explain them…

For starters, it’s not gold mystery box tokens…just mystery box tokens. (gold ones are usually reserved for Black Friday) Your Mystery Box MUST be cleared in order to see the exchange option. If your mystery box isn’t cleared the option won’t appear for you until the event is over.

  13. EA could have create a Noir area, black and white in Which to create a area but to much colour, at last a costume for squeeky voice teen, I appear to have missed previous costumes

  14. Full Character??? I don’t need the donuts, but haven’t spent money on this game in a while. Digital Homer looks awful tempting.

  15. I think it is a huge error on EA’s part to offer Squeaky Voiced Peasant for donuts when it was a cash only character before. They previously did that with Sven too. They have taught everyone that nothing will need to have money spent on it if you can wait long enough, and they have made their people who do pay every time feel less special. Great for freemium players, but not a smart business plan.

  16. No mystery boxes for me but I like the black & white characters, nice touch EA

  17. I don’t own MontyMort or MontyMort’s Lair. Yet neither are showing up anywhere in the event items or the mystery box. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

    • It’s on the list we received from EA, honestly, I haven’t personally checked it in game…relying on EA’s info.

    • That’s the same thing with mine, don’t have Montymort or Queen Helvetica showing in the mystery box, despite me needing both of them

  18. It’s early, but I’m enjoying the event. Dialogue is great…prizes are good. Wish we could get land expansion…but I’m happy with anything new.

  19. Can anyone tell me where the Magic Academy Castle Walls are stored in inventory? I’m trying to figure out whether/how many I have already in inventory from the original event, but I couldn’t find them. I even purchased a wall, just to put it into inventory (in case I wasn’t seeing any because I didn’t have any), but I can’t find it under Walls or under the Miscellany (miscellaneous decorations) categories. Are they one of those uncategorized things? (And, side note, I really, really wish EA would add a search feature for inventory!!!)

    • sandrashill

Did you group store them? 🤔
That’s usually the first place I look and yes a Search Inventory 🔎 would be nice!

      • Nope…for the test I just did, I only purchased one wall, so group storage wasn’t even an option. I don’t know whether I had any from the old event, but I’ll check group storage just to be sure (although I usually only have used that option when I’ve had to deconstruct an area, like when we lost the separate Krustyland area). Thanks for the reply, though! 🙂

    • The only place I found the Academy walls was in “decorations” The green tree on the inventory screen. Alphabetical order, Magic academy walls.

      • Thank you!!!! You’re right…they just never categorized them into any of the sub categories. Turns out that I could have saved the donuts I spent buying four of them (three to place and one for the inventory experiment), since it turns out I already had 103 of them! 🙄😆 Oh well, it’s not like I’m short on donuts, thankfully! Thanks again!

Oh, and EA, if you’re reading this, PLEASE ADD THE CASTLE WALLS TO THE WALLS CATEGORY!

  20. Nice, Squeaky Voice Peasant was an Ultra-Premium, now can complete another character collection

  21. Figured with the alternate reality, it would be the perfect time for them to bring back the zenith city/superhero 2016/17 items in the mystery pack and/or purchase, but nope. Been playing this since 0-day and that is the only quests I am missing a majority of, and would push me to near 100% completion. Getting a little disappointed that it has not came back, being the last time I remember seeing is Superheroes Return in 2017, that and the fact I never have legacy items in the mystery box and 12 doughnuts isn’t cutting it when it starts empty.

  22. “When you’re treating your workers even worse than the commies, you know you’ve done your part!” – Mr Burns 😅

When it comes to a Multi-Act Event, Act 1 always seems to start strong (this means I am enjoying everything, so far!)

Alternate Universe Computer – this doesn’t take up Real Estate (it’s also interactive, all that’s missing is a Character Task!)

Paddy Wagon – practically every Vehicle in TSTO is Decor (I hope this gets a Character Task added to it!) it’s just we all wish our Vehicles would actually drive around Springfield!

Mystery Box Token – I actually used a Token at the Into the Simpsonsverse Mystery Box and got ‘Treestache’s Grove & Treestache’ (didn’t care for The Serfsons – but what the hey it’s a freebie!)

Act 1’s Premium Character Combo (Noir Lisa & Gimbel’s Department Store) is cool …. I kind of wish Act 1 was in Noir black and white (it wouldn’t take that much code for that small dedicated EA Staff to toggle the Game App to Black and White our Towns for one Act!) but I’m glad we got a New Voiced Character!

Thank you Alissa for the prompt overview what to expect out of Act 1 …. that’s enough Tapping for me today, I should have a New Building (Private Eye Office) and New Character (Noir Homer) by tomorrow (yay doppelgangers in black and white – lol!)

    • Can you imagine the number of “My Springfiled has gone black-and-white, heeellllp!” Queries poor Alissa would have had to fend off if EA had gone for a full-on Springfield Noir! 🙂

      • That’s what they should have done, imagine the money they would have saved on crayon’s, would have preferred a portal to the multiverse.

      • I’d probably come up with some fun smart-ass remark…like uh oh looks like you got trapped in the multiverse and went back to the 1930s. Or…that’s weird mine’s still in color!

        • Of course Tappers will crap attack 😅

but Tappers having a crap attack over some temporary new feature in Game App that they don’t take the time to research “why this is occurring” kind of deserve the sass (I think it would have been cool if we had new land tiles water tiles Road tiles that were black and white to create a Noir section). 😉

Alissa should be with Family at a Walt Disney Theme Park vs Fielding inquiries from Tappers! 😀

      • Likely very true lol. However I could have gone for total retro, Noir styled event. Maybe Lisa and Bleeding Gums doing some throwback Sinatra etc 🙂

  23. Annnnnd were back to login errors. Ugh.
