Happy Labor Day from the Addicts!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well, here in the US today marks the unofficial end of Summer…Labor Day.  I think it’s funny how here in America we don’t bother using calendars to mark the start and end of our summers…we just know Memorial Day is the unofficial start and Labor Day is the unofficial end.  Sometimes I think we just like the excuse for a good Barbecue! 😉

Of course, Labor Day isn’t really about the end of summer…and it isn’t only celebrated in the US (our friends up in Canada are celebrating it today as well…). Labor Day (or Labour Day) is a celebration of the worker’s movement.  It’s meant to honor those who contribute to the strength and prosperity of their country.   (you can read more about it here)

Anywho… most Americans will spend today soaking up what’s left of their summer (or in my case, crying my eyes out because the Tiny Addict starts FIRST GRADE tomorrow…can you believe it?!) and we’re no exception here.

Don’t worry… we’ll still be popping in and out of the comments throughout the day to help you with all of your Simpsonsverse questions.  Just keep in mind it might take us a little while to moderate through all the comments, so we thank you in advance for your patience!

We hope you all have a GREAT day!  Do you have any plans for today?  Did you enjoy your summer?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Amazing that y’all start school the day after Labor Day.
Sooooo old school – as when I grew up. So many places are starting in August now.
AFTER LABOR DAY, when summer is over!

    Hang in there.

    • I’m not sure why, but people don’t like it when I brag about where I live…Northern Maine..the place to be. Clean air, few people, low crime,..small towns. School started here a couple of weeks ago, but get this…in another 2 weeks, kids are out of school for 2 weeks for potato harvest. Yes..local farmers still recruit kids to help with the harvest of potatoes. They work long hours, and make decent money…but best of all….they continue the tradition of hard working northern mainers. A reputation that serves them well their entire life. Northern Maine….gotta check it out!

      • Low crime? What about Cabot Cove and Castle Rock? 😉😂😂

        • I agree with Canada being a great place to live. I’m so far North in maine that we’re practically considered Frenchmen and Frenchwomen in this area. I look out my window to a beautiful view of Edmunston, New Brunswick…across the St. John river. Many people in this area speak both French and English, often going back and forth between the two mid conversation.

          • Mike,
The town of mawsawaka looks lovely and sounds very nice.
            For my part,
I think that I would have a difficult time dealing withn5 to six months of weather that’s at or below freezing average temperature.
And 3 to four months of weather that delivers two feet of snow ❄️

            • Yep….it surely helps if you like winter. Snowshoeing, skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, etc…all very popular. People from away are most shocked by the clean air. Even when they feel they come from a low pollution area, they get surprised. I’ve seen minus 36 on my car thermometer driving to work tho….but you get used to it.

Hi all, worked a half day and yes going to grill some burgers, chix and shrimp for dinner I remember starting school the day after labor day when I was a kid. Most kids all ready started around here. Enjoy your day, be happy and safe.

  3. Happy Labour Day to all TSTO Addicts Staff and Tappers ! 😀

I volunteered to go into work (can’t say no to the overtime!), hope everybody got a chance to take a Vacation (hope your family members safely are back in school / college), and still wishing those affected by 🌀 Ida receive necessary Aid ⛑️ (I volunteered in Vegas so I know what’s heading to NOLA, Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey).

Blue skies today, so that means the Caldor 🔥 up in Lake Tahoe is under control (50% at least!) 👍🏻

    • CJ,
I’m down here just east of San Francisco and the air is still chewable. Not from Caldor, but from fires up by lake Shasta, which blow out to the ocean, south to SF and then East through the Gate and into the East Bay.

      Hack, hack

It’s been a horrible year for 🔥’s (from the Pacific Northwest to Utah / Colorado) and Las Vegas / Henderson rarely gets the smoke 💨 but we sure got it from Tamarack and Caldor 🔥’s up North (Reno had it worse).

Next to those that went back to school / college (then getting an instant three to four days off), it was easily 100,000 tourists that came into town (it’s fun watching them all try to drive back home at the same time).

I took the overtime, definitely will take some time off for Punk Rock 🎳 (I’ll be too tired to go to work after all the fun LOL).
