In-Game Update: Breakout Bounty

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Yesterday, an app store update hit our games to remove the Simpsonsverse.  And, today a brand-new mini-event started up in our towns! (as long as you’ve downloaded the update)

You’ll need Apu, Wiggum, and Lou free for 6s tasks to get things started with this event.

This mini-event ends, in 2 weeks, on September 29th.

More details below the fold…

So the same basic concept for mini-events, in general, applies to this one.  Follow a questline, do the tasks, and unlock the prizes associated with it.

The premise of the event starts when you log into Springfield with Oops, I Did It Again

Wiggum: You know that feeling you get when you’re pretty sure you forgot to do something important?
Lou: You forgot to lock up the prison again, didn’t you?
Wiggum: How’d you guess?
Lou: It’s all over TV. Mass riot, large-scale breakout, multiple casualties…
Wiggum: Did they at least spell my name right this time?
Lou: Looks like we’ve got some police work to do.
Wiggum: *moans* That’s the part of this job I hate most.
Apu: Chief Wiggum, sir. My store is being robbed!
Wiggum: I got bigger fish to fry right now, Apu. Besides, your store gets robbed like every other day.
Apu: But now there is a line of robbers out the door waiting to rob the place!
Wiggum: Well, props for their organizational skills. Clearly our prison system is doing something right.

Again, this dialogue is followed by a 6s task for Apu, Wiggum and Lou and after that you’ll roll right into the main questline….

The questline to follow for the free prizes is…Bounty of Bounties.

Prizes are as follows…

People Catcher Truck- Bounty of Bounties Pt. 1 and 125

Judge JT Winchester- Bounty of Bounties Pt. 2 and 150

Good Neighbors Bounty Hunters- Bounty of Bounties Pt. 3 and 150

Remote On-site Correctional Center (ROCC)- Bounty of Bounties Pt. 4 and 125

Police Boat- Bounty of Bounties Pt. 5 and 125

Always nice to see a prize track full of new prizes (and a new character!)…and not returning items.

Characters who earn currency…

Homer
Marge
Wiggum
Lou
Eddie
Apu
Snake
Judge Snyder
Wolf the Bounty Hunter (New Premium)
Daisy McGunnan (New Cash Item)

The turbo tappin’ post, which I’ll have up later, will show how you unlock each of these prizes.  But the basic gist is…follow the questline, unlock the prizes.  You guys should be pros at it by now! 🙂

Tappables are Back!

Yes, the big news with this event is that tappables are back in Springfield!  Find the escaped convicts around your Springfield and squish them!

While they won’t earn direct currency, they are a required part of the questlines (for example, for Part 1 you need to squish 15 of them).

Here’s what they look like:

There’s no easy way to grab them…tapping Do It next to the task won’t bring you to them, it’ll just bring up the directions.  The only way you can find them is to search your Springfield for the Orange Jumpsuits.  It’ll take some time, but you’ll find them…and when you do, it’s oh so satisfying to squish them!

Hopefully this means we’ll get some fun new ways to earn currency during the next major event (which should be Halloween…and my guess is it’ll start on October 6th)

The store is then full of new/returning items specifically for this event.

New stuff

Premium:

Wolf the Bounty Hunter and Bail Bonds– 150 Donuts (earns Event Currency)

Returning Stuff

I’m not going to do a new SIB post for returning content.  As I’ve been doing lately, I’ve linked their previous posts here either under Details (if it was a free prize originally) or Should I Buy (if it was premium originally).  I’ve also marked which items are available in the Yearbook Mystery Box, as always, with a *.

  1. Has anyone other than CJBrownLV and myself bought the copyright lawyer character, only to find he behaves like an NPC rather than a full character?

  2. Some of the convicts run so double tap when you see one just to be safe!

  3. The tappable’s are Awesome!
    😁😁😁😁😁😁

    • Tapping “escaped convicts” , more fun than grinding for Event Currency with the same Characters! 😀👍🏻

  4. I have most of the returning items, got the NPCs hope this tap the convict’s continue into other events

  5. Love getting to tap criminals! 😁

  6. Be aware that tapping the criminals past what you need for each chapter, are just wasted effort. No points. No score. Just *poof*

  7. Tappables are back!! Squeeeeeee! I have sooo missed having tappables and am so happy to have them for this event. Just an extra bit of tapping fun! 👍😱😁

  8. There’s Fun Content (overall? this is a funny Mini Event!)

    Premium Character Combo

_Wolf the Bounty Hunter (Voiced Character)
_Bail Bonds (Building with Character Tasks)

    Buildings

_Good Neighbors Bounty Hunters (with Character Tasks)
_Remote On-site Correctional Center (with Character Tasks)

All Buildings don’t take up Real Estate 👍🏻

    There’s Dumb Content

_People Catcher Truck (30 🍩’s if you want more)
_Police Boat (30 🍩’s if you want more & can be placed in Water on Land vs only the Ocean)
_Daisy McGunnan w/132 🍩’s (not worth the real 💵!)

    There’s Makes No Sense Content

_Judge J.T. Winchester (Free Character, but in sticking to the Episode “Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes”, we should’ve gotten the Owner of Bail Bonds – Lucky Jim – we have enough Judges, including one available if you didn’t get Her last time – Constance Harm!)

There’s Returning Content (some defies explanation for being available – such as anything Marine World!)

Opinion – if it’s not Premium Content? then EA needs to make it available for Simpsons 💵 vs 🍩’s (come on, give Noobs a chance!) I spent sprinkles on a Character I didn’t have (Copywrite Lawyer) that’s acting like an NPC (is this an EA snafu?), but I’m not spending sprinkles for known NPC’s (Justice Agent , Crook!)

There are plenty of Premium Combos – even Bundles (J. Edgar Hoover Bundle, Lucille Botzcowski Bundle) that should still be available in the Mystery Box (hey, EA is giving you options!) Need the Building Skin for Springfield Courthouse? (it’s available!).

See a Building that you don’t have? Check the Mystery Box 1st, then spend the sprinkles! There is more to give EA a 👍🏻 for vs a 👎🏻 and enough to pay a visit to the official TSTO Facebook Page to say “Thanks EA”! ☺️

My favourite? Tappers have to locate “Escaped Convicts” and Tap them (how long has it been since we’ve done something this fun in our Springfield during an Event? Too long – but hey if you ♥️’d doing that? send that Small Dedicated EA Staff thank you!) 😀🤘🏻

Thank you for keeping us updated, Alissa! 👍🏻

  9. Yay for a new update. Getting some convicts one or two taps at a time.

    • I know! 😅

Who would think something as simple as Tapping roaming Characters (escaped convicts) would provide exactly what Tappers need (a change in Event Format!) 😀👍🏻

  10. Defo something wrong here. My iPad Air is performing the same as Jimbo Jones. Created more space, reinstalled, same result.
Able to play on my iPhone though.

  11. I haven’t been able to log in for weeks and EA help is very poor.

    • Peter, I don’t know if you are having the same problem I had or not, but I had a weird situation where I tried to log in, and got an error…can’t remember exactly, but it seemed to indicate that it did not like my credentials. So I clicked on the “forgot password” option, and it sent me a a code. However, when I entered the code, it said that I entered an invalid code. Very frustrating. This went on for a couple of days. I thought I was just done with the game. So I went to the ea.com, tried to log in, and got an error saying the credentials were invalid. There’s a link that says “Need help logging on.” I clicked it, followed the instructions, received a new link in my email to reset my password. I reset it to the same password, then was able to log in, both to the EA site and to my game. Hope this helps.

      • Thank you sooooo much! I have been trying everything I can think of to try and log in to my game, but it just kept asking me to verify and then told me the code was invalid. I tried contacting EA/Origin a few times, but they kept asking for some player number that I could only access from in the game.
I tried your method and did the password reset and it worked perfectly! Now I get to play the event!

  12. I love being able to tap on the convicts! So happy to have something old school back!

    • If EA could just get rid of sending the same Characters to Grind every 4 hours ….. and just replace it with Tapping Characters that roam your Springfield! 😀👍🏻

  13. Update not loaded on my MiPad, as soon as I press Continue on the main screen, it promptly exits the game and sends me back to the Home Screen. So not best pleased ……

    • and furthermore, I can’t report this to EA Help as I’ve lost / misplaced the note with my Mayhem ID on and can’t get into the game to find it ,,,,,, again.
So getting really ticked off now ,,,,,,,,,,

  14. Does it make sense to continue tapping convicts after you’ve made the quota for each part?

  15. Love the squishies! Be fun if we’d get to tap them in neighbors’ springfields. One question—is corporate lawyer an NPC?

  16. I am having problems with the latest update on my old iPad running IOS 12.5.4. Does anyone know if you have to have IOS 13 or above to run? Thanks.

  17. Yay!!

  18. There’s something else to do!!!!! 😱 Amazing!

  19. Huge thumbs up for squishable convicts 😀👍😎
It’d be great if they were worth a little event currency and the targets were increased to reflect the extra way to earn in future events 😊
It’d be doubly nice if there was a way to involve neighbour towns 😊

    • Yes! In the past, when we had tappables like that, we also had the element of tapping them in friendvilles, too. I’ve become a totally terrible neighbor, not really visiting anyone anymore, but I wouldn’t mind getting pushed to do that a little by something liked that. I’d also get to find out how many more of my longtime neighbors are gone now in the process. 😞 (Obviously, I could do that at any time, much as I could be visiting neighbors if I wanted to, but I think I need the added incentive to get myself to spend the time to do that.)

  20. the escaped convicts are AMAZING!!! thank you EA this is awesome!! Hopefully Zombies next??? So happy!

  21. Love this:. Not whacking snakes but whacking convicts is just as satisfying! It gives us something to do every 4 hours other than just moving characters around for another 4 hours of collecting toward a prize. Great job EA. Maybe we’ll get to whack skeletons for Halloween. I think we did that years ago. Thanks for somewhat reviving the game

  22. If you tap on the escaped convicts multiple times really quickly, you won’t have to chase them around town to make them disappear. They’ll go away right where you multi tap them.

  23. This looks like it may be interesting for amino event. It has more action than usual. A lead in to hallowe’en.

  24.
I passed on the Hoovers last time.

At a ~30% doughnut discount (and not a mystery box item)
    I’mma risk it.

  25. It’s funny, I used to haaaaate the “tap the roving NPC” parts of these sort of events. But after so long with the current format, I’m excited for the change of pace! Thanks for the rundown, Alissa!

  26. Whoooo Whoooo the squash-able NPCs are back …….. it gives me pleasure when they attempt to run away.
