Murky water, trees have changed colors, and leaves are blowing in Springfield, that can only mean one thing…the annual Treehouse of Horror update is upon us! Yes, with this annual event we never know if we’ll get a trick or a treat, if it’ll be Halloween-y or spoof-y…but it arrives in our pocket-sized towns nonetheless year after year. And this year, marks the 10th…yes the TENTH…Treehouse of Horror update in TSTO. So what does EA have in store for us this year? Dinosaurs! In true Treehouse of Horror spoof style. As always, loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up…
THOH XXXII Event follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it. This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting just over a week and taking us through a new part of the event!

I am not getting the Halloween update at all. To be clear, the game is running just fine for me, but only as standard Springfield. The various challenge updates usually come automatically, but not this time. I also find nothing but the standard layout in the App Store.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I didn’t get it until today. It was weird, i started to play but then I remembered that we were supposed to have a Halloween event so I came to tstoaddicts to find out when the update was going to happen. I was surprised to see that it already had. I went to my App Store and nothing. Just standard layout. Then I went back to the game and it had updated! Hope you got the update. (I play on an iPad.)
Am I the only one who is completely UNDERwhelmed with this year’s TOH?! It just seems really lame and NOT Halloween at all. 👎🏼👎🏼
I’m in full agreement. It’s not Halloween-ish at all. I’m only playing for the 50 ft eyesore prizes otherwise I wouldn’t even bother. Total letdown. This may be the year I finally quit.

No but you can turn it off in the settings
How many other people are having this problem: the game WILL NOT load. I just get a spinning donut. I have forced stopped the game, made sure nothing else was running, I have tried everything. Please help
Did you try uninstalling/ reinstalling the game? It usually works for me.

Usually clearing the cache (in the app settings) or rebooting your device, will do the trick … don’t get discouraged and have fun tapping.

for 3 weeks some Apple devices have not worked. Some of us are on eBay so we can play the game on a decent size screen because EA appear to be unable to fix it.
Judy – I have the same problem. Playing on iPad Air, 1st gen. 12.5.5 (recently upgraded from 12.5.4). I tried everything in various orders: clearing cache/turned off/on modem/router/uninstall/reinstall/turn off/on device, etc. etc. Looks like it is a very common problem despite the App Store indicating “will run on this device”. I still have plenty of space on my device so I don’t think that is the problem. If EA was not going to support this any longer, a heads up would have been nice for a couple of reasons. First, I had just purchased donuts!! Second, my plan had been to get my town organized/decorated, take a picture and have it made into a jigsaw puzzle! I am certainly not going to purchase a new iPad just to play a game so it looks like I am done. Oh, well, it’s been a fun (almost) 10 years for me!
Please, I may need some help since I just couldn’t login from my iPad Air about a month ago. As soon as the donut stops spinning, the game crashes and returns to home screen. So exasperating! Don’t know what to do.
Contact ea or trying uninstall then install, might be a lack of space on your device
Hi Luigiout, same problem with me and many many others. I’m thinking that you are using a 1st generation iPad Air which is fitted with 1Gig of RAM or Memory. More recent iPad versions are fitted with 2 and 4 Gig and do not have a problem. Sadly I have not (yet) found any communication from EA to say that 1 Gig is not enough.
When the game loads it checks to see if you have sufficient storage space (disk space if you like), if there is not enough space it will generally say “insufficient space, free up space on your device and try again”. This is not the same as insufficient RAM. So, without anything written from EA to say the RAM on your device is insufficient this is the best guess I can make. People have suggested to upgrade your device, however I cannot see the sense in in this as the game does not seem to be moving forward any more.
Ideally, a communication from from EA saying that it’s not a RAM problem but some other issue they are working on to repair would make me and all the other frustrated users slightly less frustrated.
Personally having been playing for a number of years it’s not how I imagined things would end for me. If that’s how it is then that’s just how it is, after all it’s only a game. ☹️
This is a known issue that has been going on for weeks. My wife experiences it and has spoke to EA several times. They claim to be trying to solve it. It mostly impacts older operating systems — though I am fully up to date and I get it at times too.

I am 🤣 at the 🦖🦕 NPC’s roaming my Springfield that I won’t Tap (an I think it’s cool that Human Test Subjects for 15 🍩’s are available because they’ll give you .50% Bonus XP + $ for each!) 😉👍🏻
Yaknow…it’s a cool event idea…it’s just feeling more like a June or suMmer event than ‘Halloween/THOH’
There’s nothing spooky or Halloween inspiring about it.
This would have been a nice ‘Schools Out Event’ and it could have involved several Senior Springfield Characters with either new Character Skins for them, or their separate Characters as Jurassic 🦖🦕’s (and hey with all the Kids out of School? those Jurassic Seniors could be chasing those kids for lunch!)
