Murky water, trees have changed colors, and leaves are blowing in Springfield, that can only mean one thing…the annual Treehouse of Horror update is upon us! Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Grampasaurus & the Geriatric Park Dome to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this dino combo to your town…

-Helps earn event currency at a premium rate
-Will earn event currency for all 4 acts
-“Voiced”…I use the ” ” because he has one phrase” and that’s basically screaming/yelling in Grampa’s voice
-Comes with questline
-Visual Tasks are 4hrs and 8hrs
-Animated tasks are amusing
-Will use Geriatric Park Dome for tasks
-Probably the best premium combo for the event, in terms of fitting in with the content etc.

When I first got the dome I could tap it to toggle the characters in the dome back and forth between old people and dinosaurs. It has lost this ability and only shows old oeople inside the dome now. Was this a glitch? Has anyone else had this happen?
It toggles when you send someone on a task there….not sure whether any of the characters have a permanent task there or not.
What does the label earns event currency mean on the dome? Does it give you mystery box tokens? And if so how often?
Nothing to do with Mystery Box Tokens, the only way to get those is by buying them direct in the store via donuts.
It means that Grampasaurs, who comes with the dome, earns event currency via the questline tasks. He’ll earn 8 currency every 4hrs, as opposed to the other characters that can be used that earn 5 currency every 4hrs.
“Noir Lisa’s Permanent Tasks:” What?? Lol
I jumped on this right away. The dome will be the only item this week not centered around my Cretaceous Park. I was stoked that Hank Scorpio was part of the narrative because I already have a kind of futuristic, mad scientist area next to my Globex compound that includes The Screaming Monkey Medical Research Center, the Hidden Research Facility, Moving On [memory erasure center], the sensory deprivation tank and the Peaceful Meadows Discount Annex. Threw a couple human test subjects in the Globex compound and they all tie in beautifully together. Win!
Also Gramposaurus is helping with the prize track and while I haven’t seen both visuals yet, the trying to keep his teeth in is very amusing.
It’s worth it just to watch the task “ try to keep his teeth in” 😂

I think I’ll pass on this one. For now. Maybe get it later if my donut count doesn’t suffer too much through this event (I’m building a zoo!! And I’ll definitely get the Gil deal and the act4 premium).
I’m not sure I want another theme park and will have space for it in the future. I might get the premium for act 3 instead.
I agree with people that this event is not super Halloween-y in theme or that there isn’t much content related to Halloween but i still think it’s a good event with great rewards or at least stuff you can use

The question is, “are there things during Act 1 worth spending the sprinkles on?” (Yes and No).
While I have no interest in Act 1’s Premium Character Combo, via Wikia I managed to refresh my memory regarding the ‘Triceratops Statue’ in this Event’s Mystery Box (it’s the only Content available to me and now I remember why I didn’t bother with obtaining it years ago!) 🤣

EA honestly thinks I’m going to waste 60 🍩’s on some Tokens for Decor in a Mystery Box that was originally obtained by Crafting for it? 😅
It’s worth repeating that ‘Human Test Subjects’ for 15 🍩’s each offer up .50% Bonus XP and $ (that’s an easy way to increase your Springfield’s XP Level). 👍🏻
Once again I hit the donut store and blew right threw this event. I really enjoyed the episode per the reason for me getting excited. I even spent donuts for all the wall pieces to go around my Geriatric Park. The only disappointment I have is that there wasn’t any pumpkins or random decorations available for those of us that like to create 2D artwork on our lands… It was a fun event and made me watch that THOH episode once again!
It took me two bundles to fully fence in my Cretaceous Park. The previous fencing was grey stone so the gate and matching wall is a significant improvement. Now I just hope the ride and visitor center will fit in the space I have next to it already so I don’t have to do any major renovations. I’m also having quite a bit of fun with this update so far. Cheers!
