It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Hi, I’m kinda new here, but not to the game. I played TSTO long time ago and then took a 3 year long pause, but now I’m back and in love with it all over again.
My question is, has anyone ever asked EA about zooming out Springfield a bit more? Why that isn’t possible? I mean, doesn’t it get a bit annoying once Springfield becomes big? Or am I the only one who’s bothered by that?
If not, and if anyone has any information about EA’s reason for not making it possible, please let me know!
Probably a combination of images ending up as vague blobs if they’re too small and the processing needed not just for the number of images for all your buildings and stuff you can see but it also tracks what’s just out of view to make it quicker when you scroll. Too many and it’d slow right down.
If you want to see your whole town head to design mode and tap that camera button in the bottom right corner. It takes a stack of screenshots for you and stitches them together as one big pic of everything 😊

Now I have another question. I tried to take that screenshot of my Springfield, the one you’re talking about and when I did it, it showed me a msg saying “Town portrait encountered an unknown issue. Please try again.”
So I did, I tried like 4 times and it keeps saying the same thing. And it’s really annoying because it takes a long time to “make” the screenshot and then I again end up with nothing.
Any advices?
If you’ve got some sort of memory cleaner app on your device that’ll probably help, and go through any other running apps you can close so TSTO can use more device processing power.
It needs to generate a lot of images, and takes a lot of resources to then stitch them together.
My tablet often fails like that but it’ll run OK on my phone, so the other option is if you know anyone with a better device that’ll let you borrow it and that you can copy out the finished image . . .
^^ you might need to free up some storage too, if there’s anything you could move or delete, at least until it’s finished your town pic.

Thank you again so much for your help. I stil didn’t manage to take a portrait of Springfield, tried everything you said, even used another phone with a brand new Springfield, the pic was supposed to take like 1 MB of space, and it still didn’t work, so I’ll just give up for now 😂

Anyone running into the problem of not being able to collect syringes anymore? It says you can complete the last task (which was my final task I had 174 out of 195 needed) I can do the job, but the reward is only cash. No more syringes??
One of my online fellow tappers had the same, but another managed to finish the quest – might be a device issue, iOS vs Android ??

Yes, many people have commented on that in each of the Addicts posts since the event ended. Seems they coded this event a little differently. But that’s why Alissa always warns folks not to try and play on borrowed time and to finish the event before the timer runs out.
Over on TOUK a tapper on Android finished late no problems but another on iOS found the tasks switched to IGC not syringes and couldn’t complete – hence me thinking it’s a platform / device issue with the coding
( Cube and Spyder if you pop by )
Having the same issue- if you can no longer collect fossils/syringes etc, there is no way to complete the task? Do they just stay in your task book forever?
It’s almost certain that it will go away with the next update and won’t stay in your taskbook forever… I’ve never seen event-related tasks that do.
Does anyone know about season 33 updates

Has anyone ever had a square that you can’t put a road or anything on (even when there’s nothing else near it? I have one and it’s screwing up my design and I don’t know what to do about it!
I had that once I can’t find it but maybe try putting a tree or something blockingto make it look like there is road
Strangely, when I tried again the next day, it worked just fine! Must have been some kind of glitch the worked itself out with a hard restart (although I thought I had tried sitting down and restarting the game, but maybe it needed more of a pause before restarting?).
I sometimes find if I clear a bit of land and then try and add ground tiles like roads or rivers it seems to forget they’ve been freed up. A quick trip to the friends towns section and back usually sorts it though.
Yes – I think that’s exactly what happened! I’ll see if I can remember that when it happens to me again in three years or whatever, lol!
I know this is another subject, but one of my favorite characters, Troy McClure, isn’t in the game. Anybody know why?

Maybe I’m just burning out, but this event seemed like it could have come out any time of the year. It didn’t seem like much of an actual Halloween event.
It is a THOH event. Though I wish EA would allow more than one kid to wear their Halloween attire.

Just about to type he’d shown up a couple of times earlier but my phone is usually pretty reliable ( unlike my tablet that’s a constant struggle with iffy wifi I think ) and as I look across at my gizmo in action – POP there he is again !!
Chucked down another 50 RTTs with a grumble, and it’s close enough that one more batch will get me what I wanted, so it’s not that bad though 😊
