The End is Near for Treehouse of Horror XXXII…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just a reminder that the Treehouse of Horror XXXII Event Ends TOMORROW November 10th.

Hopefully, you’ve all successfully defeated the dinos, as we move onto something new in Springfield!

As far as questlines go, what’s happened in the past is that the current prize you’re working on (on any Act questline) you were able to finish.  Once that current prize was completed then the questline disappeared.

This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.

As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.

Also, It’s EA so who the heck knows…the trend seems to be a week off between Multi-Events and Mini-Events. (although that was blown up after the last event…)  So it’s likely we’ll see nothing this week, and a mini-event next week. Perfect time for redesign work!

(and don’t forget about Showoff!  Submissions are due tonight!)

Now as far as what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…

  • Questlines linked directly to the progression of the event will go. Like the Main Questline that pulled you through all 4 Acts. (unless you’ve started one, any questlines started you’ll be able to finish that part one the event ends)
  • However, the questlines linked directly to the prizes and Premium Characters you’ve won will remain. (so Comic Book Ram, Bionaut Marge, etc)
  • The event removal will likely require an app store update to fully remove it from your game.  So don’t panic when the timer runs down and the event isn’t out of your game (or the splash screen remains the same)…  It will require an app store update to remove everything.

I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of the collection as far as you can. However, EA has really shut off the ability to play on “borrowed time”.  In other words, once the timer runs out the ability to collect prizes ends.  So don’t count on getting any extra time with this one.  Try to finish everything up before the timer runs out tomorrow morning.

So finish up those questlines, relax, and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.

I’ll be back later today with the final dialogue for Act 4 of this event, to wrap it all up and restore some order back to our pocket-sized towns!

Oh and another reminder…don’t forget Springfield Showoff!  Submissions for your event designs should be emailed (TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com) by tonight.  So please be sure to send them in! 🙂

Are you sad to see the event go?  Or ready for it to finally be over?  How did you do with the prizes?  Get everything you wanted?  What are you hoping to see next?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Guess I’m not the not the only one who is having issues sending characters to find syringes on the beach. I wasted 4 donuts to see if that would work, nope it dosen’t.

    • So did anyone ever get any response from EA?

      • Yes but it’s been taking days. They told me yesterday to log out and not log back in until they tell me to. So waiting to see what happens there. But I still have 3 of the treehouse questlines sitting in my task bar. I had already started on the final prize before the event ended, but didn’t complete it. This whole thing sounds like EA made a mistake and hasn’t fixed it yet. Why would they have an “event ended but you can still complete your current task to win its prize” notice, but then not allow you to collect event currency when sending characters on that task, and still keep the quests in your task bar?

  2. I’m in the same boat where I can’t collect anymore syringes on the very last task

    And @Safi you’re completely wrong
Cause In previous events you can still collect the items(eg syringes bones etc
Please next time don’t comment if you don’t know actual facts

    • Stop. Do not attack a moderator here who is trying to help. Unacceptable.
Safi was commenting about this specific event, not what happened in the past. For this event it seems as though you cannot unlock prizes after the timer runs out. It’s coded differently than past events. There’s no hardfast rule about extra time. EA can change their mind whenever they want. That’s why I literally say on every event is ending post, “once the timer runs out the ability to collect prizes ends. So don’t count on getting any extra time with this one. Try to finish everything up before the timer runs out tomorrow morning.”

Your only option is to contact EA. Beyond that there’s nothing we can do, so don’t take your frustration out on anyone here.

    • I second what Alissa said! I know it must be frustrating not to be able to collect that final event currency, but you were warned on this site that you may not be able to play the event “on borrowed time” and it’s your fault for leaving the final collection to after the timer ran out.

You cannot imagine the amount of time and effort that Safi and Alissa put into this site AS VOLUNTEERS, and you’re out of line getting snarky with Safi. If you want to complain, go complain to EA, but, personally, I don’t think you have much of a case.

The event ended at the time it said it would…you took a gamble and lost. EA has made these events pretty easy to finish in the time allotted…if you had trouble doing that with this event, you wouldn’t have been able to ever come close to finish an event years ago when it took much more assiduous playing to accomplish that (like four collections a day, pretty much every day).

  3. I’m also having the “syringes don’t get collected” problem in trying to collect the item I was on when the event ended.

  4. I’m confused. I had characters collecting bones and syringes last night and should have earned the prizes after logging in this morning, but when I tapped the completed characters I only got cash & XP – this must be a bug?

    • Event ended this morning. So if you cleared them after the event ended, that’s likely why.

      • That’s never happened before. Of course you can’t progress to the next step after the game ends, but you could finish working on the current step in the questline… ?

        • Same thing is happening with me. Need syringes but the payout is xp and money. That’ll never complete the task! SMH

          • Once the event timer runs out, you unfortunately cannot complete the pending prize. Only prizes unlocked before the event ends are awarded. However, if you have unlocked prizes, you can do their questlines post-event.

      • The quest is still in my task bar too, making it seem like I can still send characters on the tasks, but I didn’t earn anything from the completed tasks this morning.

        • 🤷‍♀️ EA may have programmed something weird. Try reaching out to their customer service and see if they can clear it out for you and award that prize.

    • I have the same thing. Was at 182/195 and should have been able to claim this morning, but no dice. Can still send on the required task though.

    • I have the same issue. I even got the pop- up that said I should finish my current task but it didn’t let me. I can still send the characters to collect syringes but it never went past what I had the night of November 9th. I’ve reached out to EA and hopefully they can help. I have a feeling that it’s a glitch with the way they coded the ending of the event.

  5. I was one more round of collecting syringes from finishing the last quest this morning, but no dice. I got the usual pop up saying you can finish whatever you’re working on, but those characters no longer collect syringes…..just cash and Xp. Oh well…….

  6. mr.rooney.to.you

Sad to see the Dino’s going/gone

  7. I spent WAY more donuts on this event than any other in the past couple of years! I bought tons of walls, both to create my Geriatric Park area and to have in inventory (you can never have too many different walls in your inventory!) and I bought lots of the plants for the same reason. I also bought a few extras vehicles and helicopters, too. And, as I do with every event, I bought all of the premium characters (including the Gil’s Deal). I didn’t keep track of how much I spent, but I venture to say it was probably at least around 1,500, all in. And with all that, I barely made a dent in my stock of donuts….it’s so nice to be rich in TSTO, since I’m definitely NOT in real life, where I pinch every penny and squeeze every dollar for all they’re worth!

I’m trying to decide whether to buy even more walls….how many do folks think I should have for my inventory? (I think I have around 80 right now.) What about the plants? I think I have around 25 or 30 of each….should I get more?

    • The enthusiasm is good..I guess, but don’t forget about limited land and item limits. Someday you may reach the point where you are looking for walls/trees/plants..etc.. to store in inventory in order to be in compliance with these limitations.

      • I’ve been getting item limit warnings for years, including a new one while I was building my new area. But, so far, the increases have kept me from reaching the final limit.

As for land, I still have a lot of unused land (and enough tokens to buy it all). I tend to keep my designs relatively compact, but not to the point where they lack decent aesthetics. You can get an idea of that when you see what I contributed to the new showoff. I have tons of stuff, even unique items and even a few character/building combos, in my inventory…I don’t place anything I don’t like it haven’t found just the right spot for. (Some items are so way out of whack size-wise, one direction or the other, that I don’t know when/if I’ll ever be able to place them, even if I kind of like them.)

Feel free to send me a friend request if you want to take a look around my town! I’m not the most talented TSTO designer I’ve seen by a long shot, but I think I do a relatively decent job.

But thanks for caring enough to post that caution! 🙂
