Holiday Whodunnit Act 4 is Live! The Rundown and What You Need To Know

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

In our games, the snow is falling and TSTO is calling yoo hoo!  It’s the most wonderful time of the year Tappers, Christmas in TSTO!  I just love the look of a fresh blanket of snow covering my pocket-sized town…at least for now.  I’ll get sick of it by the time January rolls around…in TSTO and in real life (have I mentioned lately I wanna move to Florida?) Anyway, yes the annual Christmas/holiday event has arrived in Springfield, so what does EA have in store for us? Well, we’ve got a real mystery on our hands!  A holiday whodunnit if you will! Poor Santa…

As always, loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up…

Remember, this is the FINAL Act of this event.  So you have to finish this, and any others you haven’t yet finished, by the time the event ends on January 12th.

Things kick off for Act 4 with some dialogue where we head back to the Santa Sleigh Race…

Kent Brockman: Hello, I’m Kent Brockman and welcome to the 1st annual “Santa Sleigh Race”! Proudly brought to you by the folks at Gnome-In-The-Home Dome.
Mary Tannenbaum: You’re talking into MY camera.
Kent Brockman: Dangit, that was a perfect take.
Lisa: Look who’s here!
Santa Claus: Ho-ho-ho! *sways precariously* Whoa-whoa-whoa!
Herb Tannenbaum: Santa! It’s so good to see you up and about!
Santa Claus: Herb, I heard you lost a limb in my defense. I couldn’t ask for a better friend.
Marge: Santa, you look a little wobbly there. Maybe you should sit back down.
Bart: Yeah, me and Homer have got the present-delivering covered, so take a load off. All you need to do is grant a couple crazy Christmas gifts we promised to get for people.
Santa Claus: Unlimited gifts cannot be done, Bart.
Bart: What about my waterslide into my infinity pool?
Santa Claus: It all depends on the requirements of the building code…but consider it done!

This triggers the Act 4 questline, Sleighing It and is followed by  4hr tasks for Springfielders (x3), Herb Tannenbaum, Santa, and Homer, as well as a task to collect Act 4 Currency (125), and Christmas Trivia.  Sleighing It is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of this Act’s prizes.

Let’s take a look at what else is in store during Act 4…

Here’s the Act 4 Synopsis from EA:

The race is finally about to get underway at Mt. Useful when everyone is excited to see Santa arrive to see the festivities. Santa is happy to see his old friend Herb again, but Marge warns Santa to take it easy as he’s still recuperating from major surgery. Hibbert shows up with the results from the lab on the object that was removed from Santa’s head, and confirms that it was a piece of a very old Christmas ornament. Lisa sees that it’s a missing piece of Herb’s Christmas ornament found at the crime scene, but… Herb is nowhere to be seen. Suddenly Marge realizes that she knows what happened.

There’s no time to explain… Marge needs a way to track Herb and Burns says his hounds can do it, so everyone piles into Burns’ creepy bone sleigh. Literally everyone. Marge, Homer, Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Santa, Herb, Mary, Burns, Smithers, Wiggum, Brockman, the Nutcracker… The whole gang is on Herb’s scent.

Herb hides in a warehouse, but there’s no denying the scent of Christmas tree or the glinting of ornaments in the light…so they track him down quickly. When they all corner him in the warehouse, Marge lays out the whole thing, which she gets Manacek to mostly explain, revealing that Manacek has been helping this whole time too. Marge reveals that Herb’s story may have lined up with the blood pattern at the crime scene, but they forgot to check… the SAP pattern! They explain that Herb and Mary are, in fact, related and in it together. Mary is Herb’s niece. Herb was sick of Santa taking all the glory every Christmas, and Mary needed a scoop on a story for her new true crime show, so they plotted together to take out Santa for both their gain.

Wiggum’s hauls both of them to the slammer and the sleigh race beings. Homer and Bart’s upgrades to the snowmobile prove to be too much for the other contestants, and they win the race. But in the end, Santa seems to be feeling much better and willing to take over again just in time for Christmas. Homer is gutted, but feels relieved once Lisa explains the math of how fast you must go in order to deliver presents to every house in the world in one night.

As I stated above, you’ll go right into the Sleighing It questline, which is what the Act 4 story will follow. This questline is how you’ll unlock the Act 4 prizes.

  1. I can’t find clip clop. Does he even exist after the event? Not in my game anywhere. Any ideas?

  2. Missed opportunity for the Sea Captain to join in the sleigh race. His is the only sleigh not being raced.

  3. Another poor prize track, hard work for an ugly building

    • Drop off for Act 4 for sure.

    • Hard work? Hardly! I gather you weren’t playing this game many years ago, when you had to log in four times a day most days to complete a prize track on time and grind to craft items? The prizes in this act may not be great, but not a lot of hard work to get them (especially if you have the premium characters).

      • I agree that it’s almost a blessing to get through an Event during Christmas with ease …. but I do remember fondly how we used to grind for Content (Community Prizes were my favourite!)

    • Braver Dam
      Rich Texan Sleigh

That’s all I cared for in Act 4 (which means I tapped out not even trying for the last Prize – the Warehouse – and cashed everything out for 🍩’s!)

I’m waiting on the 9th EA Tech Support Live to try and explain why those of us on Android OS have lost access to our Game … ♥️ the Game App but 💔 over the lack of Support (this is on par with the rollback glitch!).

Overall? I really enjoyed Act 1 and Act 2, most of Act 3 – but Act 4 is meh (truly feel the Multi Act Event in 3 Acts would be best!)

  4. Well at least I can play TSTO using Bluestacks ’til EA gets it’s “hello there’s a glitch with Android / Origin Accounts so fix it!” together … but I don’t have much interest in Act 4 Prizes (they’re mostly ‘meh’) … love the style of North Pole Town but I don’t care for the Nutcracker (honestly? I can skip this Premium Character Combo) …. 🤷🏻

  5. Have you all done a post on the gift cards? I have all the things out of the box and now only have the repeat items. Wondering if it is better to trade them for the donuts or get multiples of items.

    • Not sure what you want us to post about in that sense. We have a post on what’s included in it, Act 1 rundown I’ll link it below. Beyond that it’s a personal preference, based on what you want in your game. The conversion is only worth 3 Donuts, so if the items in there seem like the better deal to you get those. But if you’re limited on space/ item limits, or it just doesn’t appeal to you you may want to convert.

      • I think the question is (or what I was looking for at least) is do any of the non unique items come with a bonus %? If not I’d prob rather take the extra donuts. If some do have bonus % then it may be worth trying for them.

    • I think it depends on how badly you need the extra donuts. Several of the items you get for the gift cards come with a bonus multiplier and increasing your bonus multiplier is the best way to increase your donut income over the long run. I had thought I would trade in my cards for donuts, but, after trading in about four gift cards for box items (all repeat items, as I had all of the unique ones already) I got two that upped my percentage somewhat significantly! (I still may trade some for donuts, as I’m torn as to whether I really want to increase my bonus percentage, because more bonus rounds just make my building and task collection take even longer than it already does. But, if you don’t have a super high bonus multiplier already, and you’re not too close to your items limit. I’d say go for the box items.)

  6. The Nutcracker thing is weird. The unlock screen literally says that he can’t actually crack nuts. Then the questline for that character is around him cracking nuts.
