Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Yesterday, an app store update hit our games to remove the Cirque du Springfield Event (change the splash screen back to normal). And, today a brand-new mini-event started up in our towns! (as long as you’ve downloaded the update)
You’ll need Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa free for 6s tasks to get things started with this event. (there are 2 parts to the first “kick off” questline…and a series of 6s tasks for Homer and Marge in Part 1 and all 4 in part 2)
This mini-event ends, in 2 weeks, on April 6th.

So the same basic concept for mini-events, in general, applies to this one. Follow a questline, do the tasks, and unlock the prizes associated with it.
The premise of the event starts when you log into Springfield with The Unbearable Darkness of Being Pt. 1… Note there is a part 2 as well
Normally I’d post the dialogue here, but because there are 2 parts and A LOT of dialogue I’m going to skip it this time. Just note that:
-The Unbearable Darkness of Being Pt. 1 has 6s tasks for Homer and Marge
-The Unbearable Darkness of Being Pt. 2 has 6s tasks for Homer, Marge, Bart AND Lisa.
After you’ve completed BOTH parts 1 and 2 you’ll launch into the Hot Diggity Dog Event…
The questline to follow for the free prizes is…Release the Grease.

Hot Dog Cart- Release the Grease Pt. 1 and 125
Der Homerschnitzel- Release the Grease Pt. 2 and 175
Dr. Hot Dog- Release the Grease Pt. 3 and 150
Acne Grease Truck- Release the Grease Pt. 4 and 125
Meatball Factory- Release the Grease Pt. 5 and 175
Always nice to see a prize track full of new prizes (and a new character!)…and not returning items.

Hi. I picked up the barbarian castle. When I click on the castle Barbarian Homer Level 1 an Wizard Marge level 1 are there. However I can not find any way (questline?) to raise those levels. Is it still possible? I have both of the skins. Thanks in advance for any help.
So I found the original post from 2014, which is just before I started playing or switched to premium from freemium. The post talks about elixir pay outs and needing gold to upgrade, so I’m guessing that upgrading Homer and Marge isn’t available any more. I also see there are skins for Lisa and Bart (archer & goblin). Kind of a bummer I can’t upgrade them, as I’m almost done with the mini event and would like to have something to do until the next big event. If I’m wrong and they can be upgraded please let me know.
Is there any reason why Deuce doesn’t come with his own food truck, but with another random building? It seems odd that he’s not associated with his own thing.
Because the food truck was released a few years ago, i think as part of an episode tie-in. He does have a task there.
Can’t get any grease from any of the restaurants for the 1hr task. Just game cash. How to fix????

Same, thought I was being dumb last night but same issue this morning. All the buildings I click on have the counter reset?
Add me to the ‘and me’ pile, won’t be finishing this quest any time soon.
I did NOT want a duplicate Soilant Red Factory, and accidentally bought two since it was still in the store after the first buy. I waited forever on the help chat that the in-game help link took me to, and asked for a refund of donuts and suggested they could take the second factory back since I can’t sell it. The outsourced help said they weren’t authorized to do that. So PSA: if you’re not paying attention, you could buy duplicates of the giant Soilant Red Factory (that do not display independently—what you set one building’s “destruction” level to will display on both). Usually, buildings like that disappear from the store once you own, and you aren’t able to buy duplicates. You could buy unlimited duplicates at 125 donuts a pop right now, apparently.

If you don’t mind me saying, it was a lovely though from EA, but badly flawed for both older and newer players with the new how to earn.
An older player has a town full of Restaurants and probably a whole heap in storage so earning prizes is a doddle with those repeatable buildings once the issue with the timers is fixed
The newer players need the cash, and all that those buildings pay is the Grease which might be an issue for them.
If I might suggest a compromise if you do this again – Only certain buildings pay extras. Only one of each building pays event currency and it also has an IGC and XP value relative to the normal payout. Thanks for reading.
Right, this is where it all goes pear shaped . . .
Part 2 adds Collect Grease from Restaurants, so it depends how many you own. All pay 1 Grease per hour but if you do a friends town sync, get hit with a Bart screen or just pop away or quit the game and come back then the timers are all back to one hour.
If you have an insane amount of stored Lard Lads like me and can put them all out and leave your game on charge and running then it’s just a case of collecting them and placing the prizes once you’ve done the Cash Quests for the event.
Right, well said Graham-S. My problem is the game keeps crashing today, so I can’t even keep the game open/active for a full hour to beat the Skyfinger grease collection glitch. I hope EA fixes that glitch asap.
Good news, I was able to finish Clash of the Clones collection with a purchase of Barbarian Homer
Oddly, I can purchase a Hot Dog Stand identical
to Krustyland Hot Dog Stand.
BUT
Krustyland does NOT have a multiplier and the current offering DOES.
When they Nuked the old KL the bonus went to pot, says it’s the same as Springfield but doesn’t pay like it – go figure !?!

Ahhhhhh the Der Homerschnitzel (I figured it out last night this is from a Treehouse of Horror Segment where Homer slowly devours himself aka a Building that makes a brief appearance that’s quite subliminal!) …. and now I crave more Der Wienerschnitzel!! I was expecting ⚾ Season , not🌭’s – but I’m fine with this because it is funny!😅

OMG we get Dr. 🌭 ? This is going to be a fun Mini Event (even if the Meatball Factory looks like every other Factory!) I’m going to ☺️ and put 🌭 Carts along my Pier! 😅
I understand Simpsons 💵’s has no value in this Game App, but I feel half of this returning Content should be Simpsons 💵 vs 🍩’s (give the Noobs a chance, EA!) 🤔
I may skip on the Premium Content (I don’t need Sergeant Sausage! Deuce is cool, but I don’t want to make room for the Grease Recycling Plant!) and I’m going to 😅 through this whole Mini Event (it’s not Saint Patrick’s, it’s not Easter, it’s not Purim, it’s not Spring Solstice – it’s the right kind of silly we could all use right now!) 🤘🏻

Sgt. Sausage might have worked better at an event dedicated to imaginary friends. It could be called “Springfield: Home for imaginary fiends” and the featured characters would be:

Before my time, but if I read right there’s a skin for Barbarian Homer as Homer and one for Homer as . . . not that that’ll cause confuddlement !!
Glitch Alert. Part 2 of quest. Collecting Grease from restaurants – 1 hr task. Timer will reset when closing app.
Is that when you tap on the Sky Finger?
Seems when you tap on the task, it takes you to restaurants to collect.. but is not counting the collection.
My Sky Finger became available to tap.. but again.. nothing.. not collection count.
Now it will take 24 hours to reset… The timer doesn’t seem to reset when closing the app.
There doesn’t seem to be a work around.. so anyone who is working on the second prize will be stuck until EA fixes the issue.
The first collection when a Menu is over a Restaurant is the standard building task that doesn’t apply to quest. After that – the Restaurants start a Collecting Grease – 1 hr task that will after an hour (or donuts to rush the task) will put a Grease can to tap that will apply to 25 ct needed to complete Part 2. Workarounds until EA fixes are to use Donuts to rush tasks, or play on the app for full hour, don’t close, and let the Restaurant Collecting Grease task complete naturally
It looks like the timer on the food buildings is working properly.
Before it would be at 1hr.. then if you left the game.. and came back.. it reset to 1hr..
I just went back in a few hours later and there was no reset of the timer.. so hopefully I will be able to collect grease without a problem
My Timberlog Diner is the only grease building I have that is not resetting when closing the app. Also, I went visiting today and this caused all my grease collecting buildings (except Timberlog) to reset.
Can you have more than one barbarian castle?
Dunno, but I’ve got that Soilant Red factory in store despite owning one – not gonna risk getting it until they’ve patched the glitches in case it realises I shouldn’t have two and just removes it like they did with my extra Prospector’s Cabin. Not seen anywhere they’ve removed the Unique status to allow multiples.
Why in storage???really cool building with awesome facades…I was debating with myself about buying a second…..
It is a cool building, and I have it out in my own town, but i know that some people didn’t want it in theirs when it first came out because it was so large. When space was at a greater premium, I think that was more of a deterrent than it might be now.
@ Mike et al. Not saying I stored it, it’s there as available for me to go buy from the store despite owning it – that help ??!
