Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog! There’s a scheme going on in Springfield…a grease scheme. Is grease the new gold? Only time…and donuts…will tell!
Remember, this event is designed to follow a series of tasks via the questline to unlock prizes. For each of the parts of the Release the Grease questline, you’ll have to earn
via various character tasks in order to unlock the prize for that part.
So let’s take a look at the building and decoration prizes for this mini-event (we’ll cover Dr Hot Dog in another post), the Hot Dog Cart, Der Homerschnitzel, Acne Grease Truck, & Meatball Factory…
First up, the Hot Dog Cart…
How You Get it:
Release the Grease Pt. 1
Make Homer Rage Over Grease Prices- 4hrs
Make Bart Think Through the Business Plan- 4hrs
Make Marge Go Through the Credit Card Statement- 4hrs
Collect Grease- x125. 4hrs.
Once you’ve completed the task you’ll automatically be awarded the cart…

Earns: Nothing, just a decoration

Hot Diggity I truly thought this would be a Mini Event that was ⚾ Season themed (even though I made a Der Wienerschnitzel jest based upon a 🌭 craving!) – but it’s all 🌭’s (n’ Grease) and that’s fine with me ’cause it got me to 😅 (I wouldn’t mind if we got an Event with the whole Springfield Isotopes obtained as Characters, but they all go on Players Union Strike for a clever reason!) 🤔
🌭 Cart – I know I know we already have a ☕ Cart, 🥜 Cart, Eggnog Cart – but we didn’t have a 🌭 Cart (and that was the missing ingredient for my Squidport Pier) 😀
Der Homerschnitzel – yes, more THOH related Content (that’s not Halloween-ish 🎃 !), but I swear I had no idea this would ever be in the Game App (but now it is, so thank you EA!) …. to truly be an homage to Der Wienerschnitzel? you still need that drive-thru going thru the middle of the Building (I ♥️ sending Apu on his 3 Hour Task there!) 😀
Acne Grease Truck – yeah I didn’t bother to Tap for it (c’mon EA, we are so over Vehicles that don’t offer anything!) 🤷🏼♂️
Meatball Factory – sure, you get a 6 Hour Task for Lisa Simpson, but this is more Content that I didn’t bother to Tap for (I’m so over Factories, Warehouses, Mansions, etc – Buildings that take up too much Real Estate!) 🤷🏼♂️
There’s a Prize not mentioned (it’s a Character, he’s Voiced, looks like a 🌭 with legs that walks a 🌭 on a leash – lol!) whom I must admit is the best Prize for this Mini-Event (free and easy to obtain!) I know Alissa is saving for later (he makes me 😅 when sending him on Visual Tasks and he actually says, “you’re an idiot!”) 😀
Der Homerschnitzel was the only prize I was excited about this update. After Wienerschnitzel went belly up in my town, the locations were bought up by Pop n’ Taco. They later went belly up too, but so many people of my generation are nostalgic for those franchises- it was a really fun, unique looking building to add to Springfield.
I also really love it when the writers break the 4th wall and they have been out doing themselves this update.
You had Pup n’ Taco, we had Tastee Freeze (both got absorbed into Foster’s, which merged with Der Wienerschnitzel – now it’s competition with Dairy Queen for the chocolate dipped 🍦 !)
Not surprised others got halfway through this Mini Event and said, “thanks I’m done!” as the type of Prizes are a tad repetitive in style.
Most of the prize tracks are a building, a character and a couple of decorations. The only odd thing here was the character is usually the final prize. It’s new stuff, even if you store it and don’t buy a few of the repeatables or see it as a reworking of something older.
That said there’s no right or wrong answer, just like there’s no right or wrong way to paly. It’s your game to play your way 😊
I don’t understand how someone can abandon an event mid-way, even if the rest of the prizes don’t seem interesting. I mean, it takes almost no time to send those few characters on their event tasks and you only really have to do that a couple of times a day to finish in time (at least that’s true if you have the premium character for the event and a few donuts to spare…when I get really close to the number of event currency I need for a particular stage — like 167/175 — I’ll usually just rush one or two event characters to finish that stage up).
From my experience, it never hurts to get all of the prizes, even if you put them straight into inventory, because you never know when they might come in handy in a future design. And, besides, unless you decide not to play TSTO altogether while the rest of the event is going on, you might as well send the event characters on event tasks, rather than on regular tasks you can have them do anytime. Plus, you don’t want to miss the rest of the event dialog!
Just my $0.02 though, of course…. (well, more like $0.25, but that’s just how I roll… 😉😁)
