  1. I like the fact that I can actually use most of these prizes in my town…nothing too bizarre or bizarrely scaled. And two (well, kinda three) new characters who fit into the town’s citizenry well. It’s an easy peasy event and I can’t imagine skipping an act when it takes so little effort to complete it. Stuff I don’t need or don’t care for can languish in my inventory. The dialog is reasonably good, too.

And it’s kind of funny that this event came shortly after I bought a new car for the first time in 21 years! Unfortunately, that wasn’t an entirely positive experience, but I’m fortunate to have been able to get a very decent new car (Toyota Corolla SE, for anyone who cares) when so many folks who really need one can’t. I just wish the event wasn’t dwelling on this particular subject at the moment, but it’s fine.

I think it’s fine to complain about an act of event one doesn’t like (I’m sure I’ve done that myself at some point), but I’m not sure it’s necessary to do that repeatedly with the same gripes. And it sometimes feels like folks are almost bragging about skipping an act of an event sometimes….personally, I get skipping stuff if you’re dealing with stuff in real life that takes you away for a bit, but I don’t get skipping just because you’re not crazy about the prizes. That’s what inventory is for! (And, as I mentioned before, it’s so easy to complete, especially if you can buy all of the premium characters for donuts, which, for many longtime players, are more plentiful than we know what to do with.)

    Just my $0.25! 😉

    • Toyotas are great! My 2004 Toyota Matrix XR he’s still going with only 99,000 Miles on it! 43 MPG … I think my next car could be the Hyundai Ioniq 5 65 MPG Hybrid or 300 Miles Range All Electric (10 years Warranty! )

      • Yup! My last car was a 2001 Toyota Corolla…I think it had maybe a bit over 100K miles on it and the engine was fine, but there was a fuel leak (lines or tank…not sure, but there was lots of lines and stuff rusted out underneath, the inspection sticker had expired (risking $100 ticket just to drive it to the mechanic) and it no longer felt dependable enough to drive from MA to NY, so, time for a new car! I drive way too little these days to make it worth paying extra for an electric car, but, if I were someone who drive more miles, I would have considered at least a hybrid. They actually make a hybrid Corolla these days, too!

  2. Coming up on 10 years playing TSTO with a Springfield I am downsizing (it’s just easier to manage) …. out of 20 New Event Prizes, if I only want 5 of them? I’m good with that (sure, I will agree that’s the same amount of Prizes you get with a Mini Event!)

5 HIGH that will get an A – B Grade! The LOW gets a deserved ‘meh’ – but I am having fun with my New Content – and the same with goes for New Premium Content (HIGH if I want it / LOW if I don’t care!)

Yeah, it’s not the best Gil Deal we’ve gotten (the comments for it are mixed on the official TSTO Facebook Page), but if the Jesus Christ Super Car comes back for 20 🍩’s? I will spend the sprinkles (because “Jesus Built My Hot Rod” by Ministry – lol!) 😂

I bailed on Act 2 (I spent time redoing my Springfield), in Act 3 I’m having fun with –

_Parking Garage (hey we got multi-level parking for Springfield Airport)
_Duke Druther’s Auto Detailing Billboard (anyone else remember who ♥️’s them Billboards?)
_Springfield Car Wash (♥️ this and Gasso Gas Station ⛽)

Did I mention it’s Mother’s Day in 🇺🇸 this Sunday? I think we all need to thank Mama 🐻 , please !

  3. Yes I don’t think this is an event that will be remembered for too long.
If EA can’t come up with anything better then perhaps just go for a another mini event.

    • I’m so perplexed as to why the verdict is already handed down that this event is “bad”. What’s bad about it? Compare it to other events, it’s much better.

      • New Tappers and Long Time Tappers truly need to watch the TSTO YouTube Videos regarding the Game App Anniversary …. and be reminded that we had Events in the past where the gameplay was fun, but the Prize track was crappy as far back as 2014 (Alissa, Safi, Wookie, Bunny, other Tappers reminded me that way back then you truly had to Grind – or spend real 💵’s getting 🍩’s – because there was no Mystery Box and you never knew if Content would return). I needed to be reminded that Alissa and Bunny spent so much 💰 on Costco’s Game Cards just to obtain Prizes and properly update TSTO Addicts!

      • I suppose it’s down to personal opinion, I just cannot get excited about a bunch of garages & cars. Whilst I thought the circus event was original & fun. Probably some disliked it but I didn’t hear near so many adverse comments compared to the current one.

        • That was Act 2, I literally skipped it …. EA should’ve had Cars with Character Tasks (and the Cars should travel on all Roads).

I haven’t had a Multi Act Event where I wanted 💯 of all New Content in years (I also agree the Event format is stale – we need something new). 🤔

      • Nothing is bad about it. I’m very happy with this event. People feel entitled….I’m happy with all these new prizes. Anything new is great…and even the “bad” is still pretty cool in my eyes. I use this game as ….kind’of…an escape …from the real world reality….which is truly bad. Seriously…..people….it’s The Simpsons…a game…..

        • That’s why I purchased The Simpsons Arcade 1Up (if I’m not Tapping? then I’m playing old school 8 bit graphics and ♥️’ing it!)…

I think this is one of the longest running mobile game apps (probably next to The Sims). TSTO succeeded where Family Guy and Futurama failed game app wise (I still have a yay – nay relationship with Electronic Arts though, but it’s Disney I have a problem with).

    • mr.rooney.to.you

EA just need to shake it up a bit, change the format, make it more addictive, I rushed this act which I don’t normally do and tap once a day till act 4

  4. I’ll have to get out my old Springfield Heights garages now to see how they stack up next to the car event garages.

    • If bonus% is important for you, the SH Parking Garages also add a bit per building.

      2 or 3% I think.

    • Rochelle,
You brought up a very good point. While Springfield Parking Garages don’t generate Simpsons 💵’s and XP (like a Building), they do offer up 2% Bonus XP …. and you can keep them at their smallest size.

I wanted to roll my 👀’s and go, “but we already have Parking Garages”, only to decide that this Parking Garage looks swell by your Springfield Airport, or for your Krustyland / Krustyland Hotel.

  5. I actually like having more car options. I do wish they moved around Springfield, but I don’t mind it a bit.

  6. The item I like this Act is the car wash. I love the retro architecture. In today’s monotony of square boring buildings, I miss the Art Deco and “Space Age” styles.

  7. I need friends who still playing

  8. I like the cars. It’s nice to have more variety in cars, and it looks a bit more interesting now compared to when everyone in my town was driving a Honda hah.

  9. This is just the worst! And the Gil’s Deal the worst ever! Zero creativity, zero humor. Just a bunch of junk. The team must have exhausted all sense of fun!

    • I mean…it’s a 5 car bundle during a car event. Not exciting, sure. After all, it’s just cars, they do what all other cars in Springfield do. But not exactly sure what you were expecting when you saw it offered up…

      • Greg Jablynski

The gil deal was less than expected, maybe the worst one yet, but overall I’m enjoying this event. I’ve liked all the buildings sor for. The Yokel Truck is cool. The dialigue between Antione/Zora & Squeaky teen is funny..

      • Really, I just bought the Adelaide without looking closely. That does not mitigate 150 donuts for cars which are decorations??? It just seems like a lame addition in a lame event!
