Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
I’m sure some of you are wondering where I’ve been, or why our usual posts haven’t been up on the site for this update.
Unfortunately, on Thursday, June 9th my father passed away very suddenly.
Aside from the usual shock and grief that hits when something like this happens, and helping my mom sort through all of the finances, etc. as we settle my dad’s affairs, I’ve now been tasked with running our family business. As you can imagine, it’s pretty overwhelming at the moment as I take on a role I didn’t ask for, nor was I ready for. But I’m doing my best to make it through each day.
However, this means something has to be put to the side at least temporarily. And that something is this site. So in the short term, I cannot keep up with the posts for this site in addition to the challenge and responsibility of running a company and taking care of 3 small children. There are just not enough hours in the day.
I do hope to get back to this site, once I get into a rhythm at work and no longer have the feeling that I’m drowning in a never-ending sea of “I don’t know what the hell I’m doing”. Hopefully, that can happen before this event is over, but if it doesn’t that has to be ok as well.
Safi will be around, and if he has the time he will post about the event itself. I don’t even have the time right now to even play the game, let alone write about it. I do hope to get back to it soon, as I love this site, this community, and it’s honestly my outlet to keep my sanity. Hopefully, I will be back sooner rather than later.
I thank you for your patience during this difficult time, and I welcome your thoughts and prayers as my family tries to adjust to life without my father.

So sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family stay strong. Don’t worry about us or the site. Its a GAME, much less important in the real world vs the two huge things just thrown at u. We know your passion for this site and all things Simpsons and I am certain you will figure this out much quicker then u think. Best of luck

So sorry to hear of this. There’s so many details to attend to when losing a close family member. I can’t fathom also taking over a business while managing a family on top of that. You have my respect and my sympathies. I know Safi will do a fine job in your absence. I hope you managed to find some joy in your Birthday. Us Addicts hold you and your family in our hearts.
I’m so sorry to hear of your fathers passing, Alyssa. It is never easy to lose a parent, no matter the age (yours or theirs), no matter the cause. Compounding that with suddenly having to take on the family business while managing your own life, and it’s no wonder you’ve had to step out of your Addicts role for a while! You’ve built something great here, so as you take the time you need away from this site please know we will still be here when you get back! I am terribly sorry to hear of the sudden and tragic loss of your dear father. May G-d comfort you in your time of grief, and in time may your happy and loving memories of your dad help to keep him alive in your heart and mind.

Sorry for your loss. After dealing with my father’s, than my mother’s passing, I know it can take a lot of time. Still dealing with issues years later. Take care of your Mom and the rest of your family. We shall miss you but understand.
