An Update from Alissa

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

I’m sure some of you are wondering where I’ve been, or why our usual posts haven’t been up on the site for this update.

Unfortunately, on Thursday, June 9th my father passed away very suddenly.

Aside from the usual shock and grief that hits when something like this happens, and helping my mom sort through all of the finances, etc. as we settle my dad’s affairs, I’ve now been tasked with running our family business.  As you can imagine, it’s pretty overwhelming at the moment as I take on a role I didn’t ask for, nor was I ready for.  But I’m doing my best to make it through each day.

However, this means something has to be put to the side at least temporarily.  And that something is this site.  So in the short term, I cannot keep up with the posts for this site in addition to the challenge and responsibility of running a company and taking care of 3 small children.  There are just not enough hours in the day.

I do hope to get back to this site, once I get into a rhythm at work and no longer have the feeling that I’m drowning in a never-ending sea of “I don’t know what the hell I’m doing”.   Hopefully, that can happen before this event is over, but if it doesn’t that has to be ok as well.

Safi will be around, and if he has the time he will post about the event itself.  I don’t even have the time right now to even play the game, let alone write about it.  I do hope to get back to it soon, as I love this site, this community, and it’s honestly my outlet to keep my sanity.  Hopefully, I will be back sooner rather than later.

I thank you for your patience during this difficult time, and I welcome your thoughts and prayers as my family tries to adjust to life without my father.

Just wanted to let you know my heart goes out to you, and since I’ve been going to this site for many years, I almost feel like you’re a friend, Alissa, so I care about your grief and your family’s. I have also lost a parent, had deep personal trauma recently, and find that Isaiah 40:31 and Psalm 23 are extra true during these times, as I trust like Proverbs 3:5-6 describes. And watching Elevation Church on YouTube has been what I needed even though I think I don’t feel like watching—I get myself to and never regret it—I cannot believe how it always seems like it was a word for me. Hope any of what I’ve conveyed is a blessing to you. *Hugs through the screen*
