Has anyone else got characters stuck in a house and cannot release them? I have reinstalled the game and had to contact EA support. Keep doing this Alissa love reading your insight.
Store the building they are in. If it is the Simpson’s House store buildings associated with characters stuck there. Once you free enough characters it will free the rest.
Next time it happens, click Milhouse/Bart icon (lower right, visit friends town icon) then immediately back to your town (no need to visit any town), collect money/XP again, repeat. Collect enough XP to get donuts. I was able to collect several thousand donuts. DO NOT CONTACT EA. Allow others to take advantage of glitch for as long as possible.

This is not a new glitch…. it’s been there for years. It happens often when you send a huge number of characters to one single location (usually for a “special” task….for example, it doesn’t seem to happen when you send them all dancing at the whatever it’s called place that’s an 8-hour task for many of the characters). The solution is either to store the building they’re in to release the characters (when you’re done collecting as much cash and XP as you feel like), or, if it’s the Simpsons’ house (which can’t be stored) you free up a bunch of the trapped characters by storing the buildings they’re attached to. So, don’t call EA, only because it’s not necessary, not because they’re going to fix the glitch. If they were going to do that, they would have done it ages ago, I think.
Interesting: no real updates but randomly posts a few days ago to tell us to update the game which removed the Halloween content. Is this site ran by EA? lol
No, this site is not run by EA. It is run by Alissa, with help from Safi, both of whom are volunteers who do this for the love of the game and make no profit from running this site.
I’m thinking you must be relatively new to the game not to know that any update for a new event is going to end the previous event! Alissa normally does post more, but she’s told us she’s dealing with a lot of stuff in her personal life right now, and I think that takes precedence over what she does for us with this site. However, if you want, you can always follow other TSTO sites in addition to, or instead of, this one, if this site isn’t giving you what you need. (Although I still think this is the best TSTO site out there, personally.)
I’m sorry you lost access to the Halloween items, but hopefully you’ve learned from this experience and will make all your event “purchases” earlier, or, at very least, before you download the next event update, to avoid this disappointment in the future.
I had to reinstall game, my I want I want update wouldn’t load either. All good now.
Cannot get update to load and deleting and reinstall have been unsuccessful. Am I done playing ? Help
Mine ended up putting a brand new app at the end of my app list and would not load the old one. I finally noticed the new app and it worked fine.
