It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Flicked the switch to turn off Christmas decorations but it didn’t change the new facades back – Costington, Duff Brewery, courthouse. Shouldn’t they change automatically like the others?
Good question! They definitely overlooked that. This would be a good thing for you to check the EA forum for, to see if someone else has already reported that (likely) and, if not, to report it yourself. EA is the only one who can fix this issue. It’s also possible that the fix will come in the next update, if someone has already brought the issue to their attention.
Anyone else wondering when we might get another of Cecil’s Road to Riches item? Last one was the Rock & Hard Place way back from the movie. There’s been an open space for another on the task page. I’m sitting on over $4 billion with nothing to use it on. Would be nice to burn through some cash on something new. (Over 30,000 donuts, so no use farming more either). Also, any word on a fix for the Fortune Teller’s locked task of telling fortunes? Still locked for a number of people after 2 new events.
Say, I stepped away from the game for a while so I’m just experiencing the “shattered dreams” box. Now that there’s been a bit of time, can anybody say how often do tokens drop from the daily tasks?
And while I’m writing, my “Number 51” character has an 8h task blocked by a quest that never kicked off. I’ve put him away and brought him back out, and fished out every stonecutter decoration I could find in my morass of an inventory, but still can’t get that quest to kick off. Any ideas on what i’m forgetting?
Point one is probably based on % calculation
2nd point your probably missing something you need to buy when it becomes available.

I lie…it’s a 6h task (prove that he exists…or words to that effect)
One every couple of weeks. I have 26 unused ones. Most of the items are non-unique items for me.
I wish EA would do away with the daily challenge, I have 600 characters but only need 5 to “send springfielders to shop”
These types of tasks clog up my game and can’t used the game due to it grinding to a halt. My tablet has 4 gb of ram and 64 gb of memory and is new but it can’t cope with yhe daily challenge
You can just dismiss that task and get a new one (once per day) or, if you’re donut rich, send the five characters on the task, then pay the 10 donuts (2 donuts each for a 4-hour task) to rush them.
Every day you cancel one (I try to get donut challenges or Shattered Dream tokens). Only time I send characters on a task is with events and daily challenges, so most of the time it isn’t a problem.
I, also, have been playing since the beginning and appreciate the Christmas skins for the buildings and characters! I have way too many buildings and characters already. I enjoyed this event. Thanks!
So after playing this game for 10 years since the start, I feel this Christmas update was the lamest thing they’ve ever done. But you know, after all this time, I’m just happy they’re updating it.
One of the events I’ve always wished they’d do is something from “Homer Goes to College”. I know I have Springfield U already but there could be many campus buildings, stadiums etc. that they could use with rival Springfield A & M. Lots of stuff there to use. We could have two large campuses in our towns.
I created a Springfield College campus before the Springfield University event even happened. Here’s what it looks like…it’s actually much better looking without the snow and it was hard to really capture all of it in one screen capture.

Yearbook Box saved the major prize for last again. (most valuable item has been the last to be won 90% of the time for me). I still believe that the box is rigged and doesn’t have a true 20% chance every time.
I’ve got my preferred prize from the 5 selections in the Yearbook on my first tap sometimes. Ask yourself how would they know which one you really want ?!?

Here is idea for you next contest: Improvements you would like to see to the game. Get a list (example: index on City Hall census list for fast find) from users, then have the battle (City Hall index vs Unemployment Outdoor task options)
Search bar for inventory
this x 1000! Or even just an alphabetical sort of the items when you pick a category as a first step
I would be thrilled if they went back to the inventory opening at the last item placed again. Scrolling through so many items drives me crazy!
When you find an item you want to place tap the X in the top right corner then re-open inventory. it will then open back to the place it was when you tapped that X even after you place the item you want. Once you get into the habit it saves a whole heap of scrolling.
The items ARE listed alphabetically within each category! What may be making you think otherwise is that, within a given category, there is first a group of unique items (in alphabetical order) then the group of all non-unique items (in alphabetical order).
I would LOVE to be able to search or, at very least, when I look for something by scrolling, have it pick up where I left off if I place something and then go back in or even just close it and go back in during the same session. Having to start from the beginning each time is super annoying. These problems are really only big issues for longtime players who have TONS of stuff in storage.
OMG, I can’t believe I never saw that. Thank you! I noticed the clumps and thought maybe it was “things in group storage” vs not but that makes sense.
did ea ever delete you account? i was on support for 2 hours they told me i cant get in my game because my ea account was deleted. the said to reset password and they never emailed me back with code he told me to try later i did still nothing. did any one have this happen to them and did you get you account back? i was in game on sunday
EA won’t ever delete an account but a hacker might.
Did you try logging in to your EA account to see for yourself in case the help advisor made a mistake ?
Try the following –
Head to your EA account and –
Check your email is verified
Check the rest of your info is correct
IMPORTANT: Change your password
Normally here I’d say you can change to the one you already use as long as you go through the steps, but if there’s a possible hack change it to something new
Don’t forget to hit Update to save the changes

Optional but recommended –
If you haven’t already add a second email for account recovery in case you lose access to your main email
Add a phone number. You can tap Phone at log in and use that number to get codes via SMS
I accidentally tapped the golden donut statue and lo and behold it expelled a donut after each tap and fun Marge and Homer dialogue. Now it has two other facades. A frosted and a bitten facade!
I’ve seen the golden donut statue in several of my neighbours towns so maybe I wasn’t the only one who missed this! Seek it out and give it a tap!

Hey, just so you know, I fully upgraded the unemployment office but I keep it as the old facade so that’s definitely possible.
Sorry…I realized a sorry while ago (even before seeing your comment) that I had meant to say the IRS building, not the unemployment office.
Been a tapped out addict for years now and a bit disappointed at this event since there weren’t many buildings this time around many facads or however that is written. And with the box with the event coins in my case only 2 rewards were available. Still love the game tho and keep decorating my Springfield
Wouldn’t it be great if Skyfinger or the unemployment office had a choice to send all your characters on OUTSIDE TASKS! You could see all your characters doing activities at the same time in your town 😜
And I want the option for only INSIDE tasks. I like having everyone off the streets.

Question for anyone who got the Gil’s Deal mountain thingy…if you buy it and place it, do you have the option to store it and get that part of the regular mountain range back if you want to?
I don’t care about spending the donuts for something I might not end up using, but I don’t want to find myself locked into a decision I can’t undo. (That’s why I never finished upgrading the unemployment office…once you get the shiny new facade, you can’t go back to the old one.)
So, can someone who bought and place the mountain pass please tell me whether one can un-place it (and what happens if you do)? It would appreciate it muchly!
Found out it earns, 12 hour timer. I’ll try when I tap SkyFinger next, but if I nod off before 2am it’ll be tomorrow !!
Yep…you can store it in inventory after it’s been placed. When I placed then stored the mountain…then placed it again…Gil came up with a quote…

You can move it where you want it on the middle mountain range between regular Springfield and the Heights.
It is kind of cool and glad I got it, and of course I get everything since I basically can and love the game so if I store something not a problem.

Thanks, Carie! But I don’t think I made my question clear…I know you can place it anywhere along that mountain range. What I’m wondering is whether, after placing it in the mountain range, it can be taken off the range and stored in inventory (with that part of the range restored to what it looked like before)?

You can store the mountain pass. After I put it back, no Gil comment. My IRS building has both the original and shiny facade options. As an aside, when I stored the outdoor opera house, I ended up with two. Can only place one.
Thanks! They must have finally changed the IRS building facade thing, then…maybe I’ll go finish that at some point now that I know this. I did go ahead and buy the mountain pass shortly before the end of the event.
