It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

If you’re at the Friends Towns map your game just saved to the server so quit and restart it then head back and your neighbours should be there again. Happens usually when the game’s been running a while and snarls up the memory.

I wish the buildings and decors all had a button with the list of the people that can do jobs inside them! It’s so difficult to find who does what where and in which skin…
For example Skinner just got a job inside the Banana Monarchy: Shop outfits for the drama club 4h – but who else? Can’t see yet..
Also wish everyone had their Serfson skins like in the episode and the Serfsons house was the skin for the original Simpsons home! It would be Medieval Springfield 24/7 in my village

TSTO Simpson’s wiki fandom has a section on buildings that will tell you who has tasks in that building.
If there were coders, we would not still hear those sounds during startup after two freaking years.

Happy tapping all, I finished act 1 and started a new area across the heights river into the new frontier, been out hiking across the pentland hills, very cold but equally beautiful scenery, back to work today 😔, if only I could retire 😀, have a good week all, when does act 2 start?
Aargh. Am I the only one who finds that if the dreaded Bart screen happens while I am collecting donuts from the bonus level-ups from buying many bloodmobiles, that the game drastically shorts the donut harvest? I had that happen to me just now. The game “owed” me many bonus level-ups when Bart’s unwelcome interruption happened. When I reconnected to the server, the game gave me exactly ONE level-up.
Do we have any recourse when this happens?
It’s one of the perils, have more than 2 mil XP collected but uncounted and it zeroes the counters and pays one level-up.
All you can do is try not to earn more than that in one go or give a cry of dismay and buy more trucks. Sorry.
At it’s height one single RTT in my A town earned more than 10 mil XP and Skyfinger taps got about 33 mil – so I dread to think how many sprinkles I lost to Bart . . .
^^ that’s 2 mil including what’s already showing in the counter BTW. If it can pay out one round and display what’s left it works but if what’s left to display after one round is more than a mil it will glitch out and zero it.
Hm. So if I understand correctly, smaller batches of bloodmobiles is the approach to take….

I suggest getting to 1000 to 1500 donuts…then stop farming. That’s what i did…
If I’m in the mood to farm I get at least 5k in a day – but I’ve got billions to spare and if Bart strikes I’ll swear and go drop more trucks. Before I got rich I’d do small batches so all Bart cost was time.
Wow, that’s a big haul for one day! I currently have 5000-something donuts [went in to check how many exactly, but the game decided it needed a zillion updates], but I got there very gradually.
My B town’s down to about 17k, but when there’s a heap of repeatables in an event spending 8k a time isn’t uncommon for me. I’ve made a deal after discussions elsewhere that I won’t say how many my A town has, but think of a big number and add a bit more . . .
When I decided to go for it back in 2019 I took some screenshots of the early memorable amounts as I hit them. Kept getting Bart screens shortly after so it took until early 2022 to hit the target I’d set myself.

WOW that’s A LOTTA DONUTTERS Graham .. enough to feed Homer with the donut feeder in hell… Pray tell how did u jump from 3000 sprinkles in July (a lot! Just by itself!) ..to a STAGGERING 100K only a month later?!?!? What is ur multiplier percentage and what kind of items do u buy to get those? Thousands of billboards and tv vans from the Burns mystery box? I can see the Itchy scratchy billboard gives 1% and some premium buildings give 4% like Hellscape..
Probably around 11,000% back then, finished up around 16,600% Most of it from newsvans – some bought full price too coz it was quicker then Burns Boxes – mini-nukes and jet engine bikes. Snowcats came later.
Oh yeah, and a whole load of Wailing Walls (??) that were glitched for cash when I bought the first few and back to costing Ds for a whole load more after a very quick badly timed patch !!
Easy to get 1,200 – 1,500 Ds in an hour 4 to 6 hours a day if you’re mad enough to grind. Won’t say why, but trust me and don’t do much more than that if you do decide you fancy your own insane grind.
Even just spending 10 to 15 minutes a day for around 300 Ds quickly adds up over time.
you people are nuts. ive never paid a single real world dollar for this game. ive been playing since 2013 (with a 4 year break inbetween) and am only at level 393. I am elated when i finally get 30 donuts accumulated every 11 days and can use them for the yearbook box. how can you possibly have 5K donuts in 1 single day!? the grind is half the fun right? maybe try organizing your town instead of plopping and farming?
Thank goodness others have paid to play..even if it’s just a tiny amount…or this Great Game would never still be around. You must be that dude on his phone in that commercial where he doesn’t think to keep the door open for someone following…walks past the mail delivery person that has dropped all that mail and completely ignores it..j-walks while staring at his phone, and almost gets hit by a car…and gets annoyed with the driver….i bet that dude is kinda like you huh? People should play this game however they choose…and should be thanked for spending any hard earned dollar on it. ?? To brag about not spending for a decade??…I’ll bite my tongue here…
wow! so aggressive of you! im not ragging on anyone for paying. calm down. im just explaing my situation.
I have always had a nicely designed town (except for the small area that I plop new items down in while figuring out what I want to do with them at the end of the event), even when I used to farm….the two are not mutually exclusive! I invested some time and effort years ago farming to make donuts to buy Burns Mystery Boxes (and other items) to increase my bonus multiplier. As a result, I got my multiplier to a high enough point where I earn tons of donuts just by collecting “ripe” buildings and tasks, without having to farm anymore. (Plus I have two donut-earning buildings, Yahweh and Maggie earning donuts for me, and donuts earned from collecting monorail pieces and doing Sideshow You, too.) I never have to worry about having enough donuts for whatever I want, and it allows me to play the game in whatever way suits me. So, I don’t regret that temporary investment in the time and effort it took me to get to this conditioner situation…I only wish I had been able to accomplish something similar IRL, lol!
Also, not sure I understand bragging about not having ever paid a “real world dollar” on the game…you do realize that it’s the people who do sirens money on the game who keep the game going so you can play it, right? I haven’t spent much money on the game, but I have spent a tiny bit here and there in the past and I sometimes feel a little bad that I couldn’t spend more to support the game.
If you invest a lot of time in the game, it may be worth it to you to plunge some money into it. Keeps the game profitable and the content coming. It is great that they offer a pretty reliable way to gain donuts for free.
I count myself blessed that I have surplus money that I think nothing of dropping some coins for deals now and again. I think the most satisfying part of this game, for me, by far is laying out my town and having it make sense thematically.
The Springfield Heights expansion has thrown me a little. I’m happy with my current Springfield that I don’t want to partition it off into a new area for the “rich” sections. Maybe eventually. And my monorail line is shaping up great!

That change would require actual coders, and currently only writers, artists, testers, and someone who knows how to package new event content for distribution are working on the game. Given the number of new and existing games in EA’s inventory, and the decline in the number of TSTO players, any significant change to the game engine is unlikely.
Packaging what the writers and artists create into an update does need coders. EA switched to the 2FA codes for security reasons and they won’t change their minds on it.
Happy Sunday everyone. I will be watching the Super Bowl later today. I watch just for the commercials. On a Simpson related note I was decorating my town with old items from past events and with the new items we just got.

Yes it would have been amazing. I would like to have that in my town as well. I hadn’t paid attention to the ground tile until you mention it.

What are the chances EA will ever give us a way to delete things from our inventory?! Or at the very least a search function. After years and years of playing off and on my inventory is overflowing and just annoying. I can’t be the only one!
Some of the stuff can be sold, but some can’t because Support used to get flooded with messages from players who’d got rid of a prize or a premium item by mistake and wanted it back.
I wish there was an Archive that worked like Inventory but you could drop things that you’ll likely never use into it and just keep the maybe items in the regular inventory – or go through Archive and put stuff you might use in an event design ready to go.
Search is a bit more complicated, that above idea needs one more variable and a database column, and a couple of buttons to use or hide stuff, but I’d love a Search too . . .

I wish EA would go back to password logins in the game. Most of my family stopped playing because they’re sick of having to request a code through email to login.
They won’t, but you can add a mobile number to your EA account and get codes as a text message if you tap Phone next to Email on the sign in screen and use the number you registered with ’em. You can do that here . .

I don’t have a mobile phone. Too many companies think everyone has one. That causes a lot of problems in other ways.

i agree. some stuff I keep cause “you never know” (KrustyLand and Duff Gardens has made a home for some odd ball decorations that I thought I would never use). but I can certainly say that I will never use the buildings from this event; I don’t need 139 bonsai trees; etc. It takes me FOREVER to find the stored items that I want right now. I at least want a search feature

Question for all the tapping tappers out there.
Does anyone have a list of characters that do on screen special tasks like flying a balloon, plane or sleigh type tasks ???
I often would like to send my characters off on these but can never remember who does what?

Think someone did that over on the EA forum, but no idea how to find it or how up-to-date it might be ( that player isn’t tapping any more it seems )
There’s a good few, if you find or make a list publish it on here ta very much, I once did a bench sitting screenshot which was interesting to do. There’s a list for that also.
If I tell you I trawled through more than 2,000 lines of info for each walkthrough I wrote and that’s just one file . . .
Go figure, note and write it out then email it in for us . . .
