Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

Lots of things you may have missed this week around the Addicts Site:

Simpsons are back again this week. Did you catch the episode reminder?

The next major event is underway. Did you check out the Spoiler video? How about the Act 3 rundown? Ready for Act 4 on Tuesday?

How’s your Springfield design coming?  What are you doing with your town? Share some photos in the comments below! (If you need a refresher on how to add photos to the comments check out this post)

Any weekend excitement going on in your neck of the woods? Catching some World Baseball Classic games? Any plans this week?

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! (Just no politics, it never ends well)  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. Happy tapping all, a few screenshots to share with you, have a good week.

  2. Question for my fellow Addicts- what is Melric’s Melnibones? At first I was toying with the idea that melni was short for melanin and Melric actually sold the [hair?] bones of or for Albinos. Now given the dialogue and tasks I think maybe it’s a playhouse for a troupe of actors? Or an armory? Or a costume shop?

I’m really enjoying creating my own little Medieval larp’ers fiefdom. Like the Dude Lebowski’s rug, it’s really pulling the whole area together. Hope all my fellow Tappers are enjoying it too!

    • PS in an instance of life imitating art, I’ve been in Windows update hell all morning. Restart computer now? 2hrs later…

    • One of British author Michael Moorcock’s fantasy characters is an albino sorcerer named Elric of Melnibone…

Famous for carrying a black sword called Stormbringer, who drinks the souls of his victims!

  3. Iam wonder if I should buy more walls and gates like the bundle in the last prize. I already used the stone wall to go around my village, not knowing that this was coming. Any ideas or suggestions?

    • It’s always nice to have extras in your inventory, should you want to change your design.

    • It’s great the walls are for $$s and the gates are only a couple of Ds so it shouldn’t be too hard for even a lower level player to add a fair few

      • IIRC I put a note in the Store Guide post to the effect of . . .
If you’re thinking about walls perhaps wait ’til Act 3.
        I plan to get loads

    • If you can afford it, always stock up on different walls, plants, crowds, or anything you could conceivably want down the road. You never know when you might want them!

  4. Definitely worth it! Dragon and building well worth it.

  5. Happy Sunday Everybody. 😜
Has anyone bought the new Burns and Dragon combo ?
Is it worth the 250 doughnuts?

    • At first I wasn’t sure about the Human Power Plant and the castle/dragon combo Gil deal but it ended up being integral to my design. Plus it’s going to be fun having the dragon roast hapless passersby, so for me- yes, definitely worth the few minutes I spent farming bloodmobiles for it.

      • Thank you both. You just made my mind up for me. 😎

        ..😱………….THEIR BE DRAGON’S HERE………….🐲🦖🦖🐉

    • I agree with SB Gibbs. I can move the dragon to roast people, haybales (with a fire behind it), all sorts of dastardly deeds.
