It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Realised I made a rookie mistake. I didn’t buy enough castle walls since I hadn’t cleared enough land yet. Now I go to do so and the walls were limited time only. Opps. I had thought they would stick around.
I usually have a clear spot the size of a land tile and fill that with walls or fences – a typical fence you can fit 128 in a 16 x 16 land tile – and then store ’em and maybe add more just in case …
I’ll do that with these metal railings, probably 8 batches for 1024 of ’em and not sure how many of the other bits. Need to figure a patch of boardwalk tiles to put those posts on, but the rest should go on grass.
Want a load of gondolas too and some rowboats in case they ever get to go on river tiles

When I saw the news of Michelangelo’s David and Florida parents, my first thought was how The Simpsons predicted this.
At least someone is finally listening to Helen Lovejoy and thinking of the children 😛
Was hoping to get some clarification on something I’ve recently noticed with the Shattered Dreams Mystery Boxes: Characters you receive from the Box retain their ‘free character’ payouts for jobs if you could obtain their character for free during their respective event, even if the character had been offered to be bought for donuts in other events after their initial introduction.
For example: Dr. Crab was released in the Superheroes II 2016 event, and could be won for free. This character paid out their jobs like other free to obtain characters, and then he was able to be bought for donuts when he returned in the Superheroes Returns Event in 2017. His jobs should have then switched to pay out similar to that of other premium characters.
However, the Dr. Crab I received from the SDMB has a ‘free character’ payout, when shouldn’t it technically now be a premium payout? Or do some characters (For Example: Miss Springfield, Dr. Colossus Rex Banner), just get their payouts upgraded to premium when they return to the game costing donuts, and other characters do not?
AFIK any returning item only pays what they originally did, so if it was a prize and paid the regular amounts it’ll still pay the regular amounts even if you get it with donuts because you didn’t get it when it was free.

That’s so weird. I know for a fact back in the day when I first got Miss Springfield, Rex Banner, Kimiko, etc, for free through events, they all switched to paying out premium once they returned for the first time in a future event for donuts. Maybe this is a change that they implemented in recent years, or is just something that they’re inconsistent about??
From what I have seen it seems like there’s a mix of characters/costumes that have been able to be obtained for free that have changed to pay out premium, while others have not.
Example: Dr. Crab and Clobber Girl (Lisa Costume) were both obtainable for free during the Superheroes II Event, and have both been rereleased for donuts in future events. Dr. Crab pays out for free still, while Clobber Girl has premium payouts now (Costume is also in the Yearbook).
Interestingly, it seems that Yearbook Items have all been upgraded to premium payouts. Which makes things more confusing, as why are certain once-free limited-time items now offered for donuts being upgraded to premium status while others are not????
Either way, it feels super lame to have items in the Shattered Dreams Mystery Box that don’t payout premium / don’t have a bonus since a primary way of getting these tokens is through the donut bundles in the store.
As I understand it they’d need to re-code not only the character or skin but also all the individual jobs, plus it’d be the same for anyone who got them free or spent sprinkles. Perhaps that’s why they don’t do it any more ??
Only days away from MLB Opening Day! Been thinking about my preseason world series picks and I think I’m going to go with Atlanta in the National league. I think they have a pretty balanced lineup with solid pitching. In the American league I’m going to go with the Blue Jays again even though they let me down last year. They are stacked, especially their infield. Who are your picks baseball fans?

I finished opening my Northward land yesterday, the only long term goal I had going in the game. Guess I won’t be generating any more maps or deeds as that ability shut off immediately.
Congrats on reaching the end. I still have a few months to go.
I didn’t think in my A town and rushed the lot, but in my B town I left one tile and found a way to give it a kick so it keeps making maps.
Got hundreds if they ever add more land and a whole load of the original land tokens.
Probably won’t work now you have all the land but try going into Design Mode just before you next tap the shack and see if it pays a map.
Nice! You mean the land behind the bridge at Springfield Heights, right? I’m at my 3rd row of 5 per land now. How long is it?
It will end up even to the land squares on the other side, requiring up to 7 deeds per square. I’m roughly where you are. Things picked up after I got Jackpot Realty with my free gold token from last year’s Black Friday deals.
I had missed the last Simpson’s episode. Was it good.
It was slightly above good, but not quite at very good level. The parts with the return of Jacques were great. But too few in my opinion. Too much time spent building up to the return of Jacques. We’ve waited 33 years for a Marge-Homer-Jacques triangle. It didn’t disappoint. Overall, I’d say better than the past couple episodes, but not as strong as it could have been. (Granted, I had preconceived notions of a strong episode that may bias my overall feelings)
There’s no way the episode could compete on the level of the original Jacques episode…it’s ALL just too different now.
I would love to see your ranking system for episodes.., “slightly above good”..but not “very good”? So is “just good” in between those 2..or is there also a “slightly below good”, or a “robustly above good, but not great”….it can go on and on.?I think you should create a chart showing your ranking of every episode ever…just for fun!..Just kidding….

Excellent
Very Good
Good
Ok
Bad
Very Bad
So this episode would lie in the Very Good-Good spectrum.
So with 6 ratings levels perhaps no stars to 5 stars you’d say 3 and a half ?? 😊
I’d give that analogy 5 stars!
