It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

And I found out why the blue haired lawyer wasn’t singing anymore. He’s either representing or opposing Shakespeare in the current game. I sure hope they remember to give him back his operatic abilities!!
I’ve had the four opera singers in the opera shell for I don’t know how long. Every now and then they get loose but I round them up. This morning the shell was empty and so I went searching. I found three of them and put them in the shell but I discovered that the blue haired lawyer didn’t have that task anymore. Any ideas why that happened and how I can get him singing again would be appreciated.
Anyone have any creative ideas for how they are building these could buildings into their town?
I like designing my town to be very thematic and “make sense”. Still not exactly sure how to build these in.
That is – *cloud* buildings. Doh!
So I already had a little Heavenly section around my Praiseland- the Swing set, Pool, Jeep, Fit Dog Heaven, Jewish Heaven… Some things will be added here as currently there is a lot of open space there. I’ve already added the Jesus Cube. I’m picturing playscape, water slide [Mt Splashmore is also there so that will look good], golf course maybe more.
These are also close to the Mt. range so I’ve been collecting land on the other side since the NW passage is my designated Shelbyville area and since Shelbyville is supposed to be a cruddier version of SF, I’m envisioning Peter’s desk and some of the less attractive versions of heaven mirrored over there. I’m sure some of these cloud bldgs. will also end up in inventory. As space becomes more rare, even more will end up in inventory in favor of better buildings.
I’ve seen that some of the cloud-like items new and old can be sneakily placed on Ocean.
Not tried it myself but I figure the trick is to use Boardwalk tiles, place what you can, then remove the Boardwalk.

If you have the land sneaking River tiles under ’em might look good too.
I just found out that the wild west road/dirt road is purchasable??? It seems to be locked until you buy the cobblestone. It costs 40 donuts and i found it in the far back of decorations.
If you click into move mode, it shows up there on the list of tiles on the left. Water, boardwalk, dirt etc. I didn’t know it unlocked after unlocking the cobblestone. Assumed it was locked out. Cheers.
Well, I searched google and only found one instance of this from 2014 and the poster on that forum (EA site) didn’t get an answer, so I hope this isn’t THAT much of a rarity and I can get help; Either through tapping a Kwik-E-Mart or the “Get More” button, I get the “D’oh! A connection problem occurred. The requested action failed.” pop up and can’t access either the golden scratch-r or regular buy screens. Logged out and in again, rebooted etc but same thing. Anybody else go through this and have a quick fix, or do I go the dreaded “contact EA” route?
Are you on iOS / Kindle ??
There seems to be an extra issue there where it crashes if you try to get your Mayhem ID
Head to the Friends Towns bit and back and retry what you were doing and see if that helps.
Head to Friends Towns then Recent Apps and close it, go to the app icon on your homepage and restart – don’t use an alert – and see if that works.
Turn wifi and if you use it turn mobile data for your game off and restart it so it says it’s your fault rather than the usual can’t connect Bart screen and then turn internet access back on and hit retry – you should be able to do that from the device drop-down menu.
If you still have problems can you clarify what it is you were trying to do

hey Graham – this happened while playing through Bluestacks on my PC (I like seeing the town huge on my TV screen!) and I think it’s an issue with that program, tho’ I’ve never had issues in the past few years of use; I logged off that and went back in on my phone and everything is okay there. Logged out and went through BS and it’s the same problem, so I’ll just reinstall BS and try again. Guess I’ll just have to “Get More” through the Android and switch over to the PC again if it persists. Thanks for the reply, I’ll use it if I have problems while playing on the cell!
EA don’t support Bluestacks and don’t like mention of it, but when I’ve done purchases I’d load the Google website on the laptop and add payment card details then fire up Bluestacks to buy, then back to Google to remove the card info so it can’t be abused just in case

I usually just power through the game tapping and stuff. One of the things I like to do is get everyone riding their motorcycles. Did you realize that for her 24 hour task it has Mindy riding “His” motorcycle?
Well that did not take long. I have already arrived at the new limit for boardwalk tiles 😢
Oh well back to hoping to getting tiles via the yellow submarine
Happy Sunday everyone. Waiting for the new Simpson episode to arrive. Will have to wait till tomorrow since I watch it on Hulu. The past few weeks I have been reading Simpson comic to get my dose of Simpsons. The comic at the end has build your own moe’s building. On a game related note I purchased marge and Shakespeare. I was having my doubts to purchase Shakespeare since I do not like the building it came with. Looking forward to getting St. Peter.
Anyone else finding the game very lethargic these days? It seems to take forever to launch and thats assuming you don’t get a Bart Screen connection error that delays it more. When it’s up and running it often seems to get bogged down.
I’m not having that issue, myself, but there are a couple of things you can try to improve the performance on your device (which is most likely a memory issue)…
First, try clearing the game’s cache or, even better, uninstalling and reinstalling it, which will take a fair bit of time, but will delete all old files that aren’t needed anymore. (But do NOT doing that unless you have a login for the game or you’ll lose everything! (But you really should make a login if you don’t have one already…))
Second, make sure your monorail isn’t running.
Third, see if you can store a bunch of items…for example, of you’ve opened a lot of new land on the Springfield Heights side (the new land with the trees and buffalos) that you’re not using yet, store as many of the trees and buffalos was you can as a quick way of bringing your item count back down without having to store stuff you’ve intentionally designed into your town or hidden because they increase your bonus multiplier.
I’ll add – see if you’ve got a Daily Challenge or old quest task to Send Springfielders…
I find those slow my games to a crawl until you complete or dismiss them – head to the friends towns map after you dismiss a daily challenge task, it stays in memory until the game reloads !!
The newer event quests use a smaller group list, they aren’t so bad, but the old ones to send everyone are a pain IMO
Mine are gone as well . It drives me crazy. I think that Tapped Out should be getting on it and fixing it. That is part of the fun of the game…visiting other games and checking out their lay outs.

Help! All my friends have disappeared. What should I do?
It’s a pretty common glitch in the game. They should reappear later. (and will disappear again later, and reappear later, and so on and on)
