Hey EA… it’s been a while but WE still want things!

Hey there Addictereenos! So I’m texting with Alissa the other day and she’s all “hey Wook… you think you’d have time to do a What the Addicts Want post?” and I’m all “Sure thing boss.” I think if I’d known (or remembered from the last time) what I was getting in to, you might not be reading these words right now. I dredge through the site looking for the last post to use as an example and realize it’s been two years minus a week since we did one. TWO YEARS!!! The horror!

Why would the Wookiee be so remiss in compiling what people wanted? Well the answer became quite clear to me as I did just that. From January 2015 to now, wading through comments and writing down what people asked for, there’s words to describe my efforts that aren’t PG enough for here. Then I remind myself how much I love this community and just get through it. Jebus knows I’ve gone through tougher things than compiling a list. Hey howdy hey friendereenos!

So in the midst of Thanksgiving 2016, it’s pretty obvious that we’re just in the lull period before EA whallops us with the next big event centering around Christmas and the winter holidays and it occurred to me I haven’t done a What a Wookiee Wants (WAWW) in a while. I figured it might be time to posit some of my ideas. Alissa may have also told me a few people actually requested it and gently goaded me into writing something lol. Wowza… EA ended the Superheroes Sequel and then walloped us with the return of the Monorail for everybody. Any tapper who knows me should know how thrilled I am to see the return of this for the game. I actually finally built some track in my town although I’m not completely happy with it and still considering a complete redesign so I can make it pretty. Anyhoo… like most take-downs recently, EA decided to tease some possible future stuff in their update message.

But what the heck does this all mean. Sure it could all just be a joke from the designers but there is usually a kernel of truth within the farce. I decided to do a little thinking and see if I could come up with episodes that might bring stuff to us pertaining to these hints. Here’s what I came up with. Continue reading →

I started trying to focus on things tappers requested and then life and events took precedence and I didn’t write them as much. Then a confluence of events happened. What a Wookiee Wants: Oh No! More Krustyland ideas!

You know… the little joke in the Maggie questline about Krustyland got me thinking about EA’s forgotten little disaster.

Why don’t they do more with it? Is there a way to connect it to regular Springfield without the shuttle so people don’t ignore it? I am an admitted theme park enthusiast and I enjoy going to Krustyland. I’m proud of my designing in KL.

Even if you feel like Moe about it, the Sideshow You donuts should be enough of an incentive to pop by. I’ve had some ideas for bringing some TLC to the theme park before and actually had a post idea for months that was delayed by events, school, work, and real life in general. Then I read some of our addicts discussing it in the SUnday Open Thread this morning and realized I should get off my Duff (pun intended) and finally write the post since I find myself with some free time. Of course, I write on said Duff but anyhoo… here we go-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh………..

Love is in the air they say… or is it smog? I always get those two mixed up. Is there a love alert today? Do we have to keep the kids indoors? Is Cupid polluting the atmosphere? Even in the middle of a mini-event, I find myself wondering what is coming down the pike in our beloved game. Even after 2 years and 4 months of content, there’s still so much that could be added. Hey hey hey friends… with Halloween looming in all of our minds, I’m sure most of us are making sure our towns are in order, trying to finish any outstanding tasks and ensuring our friends lists are in order. I don’t know about you but the little break in action over the last couple weeks has been a welcome respite from the constant tapa-tapa-tapping of event time. In fairness, one of the things I liked about the Monorail Event (other than it being a frakking MONORAIL EVENT!) was that the daily tapping didn’t feel like drudgery. I visited my town once or twice a day and easily got everything. Not too shabby at all EA. Here’s hoping Halloween is on par or even better (hoping for the latter).

Anywho… even though it hasn’t been long at all since my last What a Wookiee Wants (WAWW) post… there’s something I wanted to put on the site before I get too busy with Halloween madness. Initially I’d intended to formulate this into a rant since the “want” in question really irks me, but in the grand scheme of things, there’s no need for it. What a Wookiee Wants: Halloween 2015

It’s that time again! Halloween is right around the corner and already some of my favorite theme parks are all decked out for the festivities. Of course, that means a new Treehouse of Horror episode for my favorite cartoon and even better, the 4th Halloween Event for TSTO. I can’t believe I’ve been playing this game for almost three years but have to admit it was premium offerings in October 2012 that first got me to shell out cash to EA.

But what does this have to do with yours truly? Well… I used to regularly post about things I’d like to see in the game. Over time, I decided it was more appropriate to highlight what y’all want but every once in a while I still wrote about my own ideas. Over time, these slowed but more and more often, items I picked out showed up in the game. Whether that has anything to do with me is a battle between coincidence and hubris. Anywho… My favorite time to do this is Halloween and I saw a comment or two about if I was going to do another “What a Wookiee Wants” for Halloween 2015 so I decided why the heck not? If for no other reason, it gave me an excellent excuse to hold a personal Treehouse of Horror marathon. That exercise alone made this whole post worth it.

The resulting list is items I saw while watching that made me think…. “Oooh, oooh, that’d be so cool in the game.” I tried hard to steer clear of the usual zombies, vampires, mutants items that are obvious choices (although any of those could be fun). Initially my list was much longer but I ended up shortening it during my second pass. Fair warning, this doesn’t imply that my list is short just that a while ago in a galaxy much closer to you than some would like it was longer lol. You’ll notice some THOH episdoes were excluded completely. In fairness, a lot of these items are repeats from my wish list last year but I did purposely avoid reading last year’s post before writing this one. I guess a fuzzball wants what a fuzzball wants.
