The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and XP from everything you collect in the game. When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.

Can I up my % with any item purchased or only items that say increase x% for example if I buy a ton of trees will it ever change my % or will it only go up with items I spend doughnuts?
It’ll only go up with items that have bonus % attached to them. Typically that’s not a benefit of cash items (although there have been glitches in the past), only a benefit from donut purchased decorations. This chart, while not completely up to date, should help…

I was wondering how long it takes to update ratings? I recently added a ton of plants of various kinds and decorations but my ratings for those two categories hasnt gone up.
So I’m trying to get my % up. I have a 5 star rating already. Do I need to empty everything out of my inventory, or just anything that specifically say they increase my %? Is there anything that does increase your %, but doesn’t say that might be in my inventory? Do I need to empty anything out that says it increases something on the Conform-O-Meter, if I already have 5 stars?

Does anyone know of any item that has a hidden 0.05% bonus? If I add up all my bonus items, it matches the bonus listed on the Conform-o-meter. But when I calculate the bonus, I consistently have an extra 0.05%.

I had a 4.5 star town because of the gluttony category. I’m a freemium-ish player so I was saving for the Sit-N-Rotate hoping that would raise it to 5 stars. I won another Itchy and Scratchy Billboard from the mystery box and my town jumped to 5 stars. My bonus also went up from 78% to 83%. Just curious as to why that happened since the billboard is listed as vanity and not gluttony.

In the past few weeks I didn’t get how my bonus was rising. I think it jumped a few times. Only today for example I was at about 134%. I was only surfing around my town, I did NOT place anything as far as I can remember, I sold a few decorations. When I checked my bonus again it was at 136 %… 😒 hmmm… I really don’t get what I’ve done to increase it, and I think this happened before, only I wasn’t sure until now!

How do I know how many points I already have so I can know how many more I need? Second question, which tree is tree 3? Or shrub 1?
There’s no way to calculate your points unless you count everything you have up. Trees and shrubs go from least expensive to most expensive.
I have a question I can’t find any information on the max % for the conform-o-meter my husband is at full amount on all 8 of them and is at 200.25% does that mean if I max all mine will I get that to and how long does it take for the game to catch up and update your % thank you

Max for stars is 5%, beyond that the bonus % comes from items you buy. For that there is no max %.
Question: I know one has to be patient, but how long should I wait for the Conform-o-meter to update before contacting EA? I’m a freemium player, and after staring at 4.5 stars for a few months, I finally bit the bullet and built a Kwik-E-Mart farm to reach the elusive 5 star rating. I saw an immediate bonus increase from 27.85% to 28.35% (I assume from getting that final half-star in Consumerism), but have yet to get the 5% increase for having a 5 star town. It’s been about 6 hours or so. I’ve exited the game a few times, but still no increase. Could the Addicts advise? Thanks so much.
You got it already. It adds as you play. So at 4.5 stars you are already getting 4.5% bonus. So when you hit 5, you saw that .5% increase. You ARE getting the 5% now.
Ah! Thanks for the clarification… I didn’t realize it was cumulative; I was expecting a jump from 27.85% to 32.85%. Oh, well. I might sell those Kwik-E-Marts back, then. Doesn’t look very nice : )
Hello from England! Just wanted to let you know that to get my socialism to five stars on level 48 having never had any friends for neighbours before. I added 66 new friends from your add me site and within three days of tapping them all every 24hrs as allowed my stars had gone from three to five and now I have the bonus! Perhaps this info may help with the maths of conforming to socialism? Who knows but I am happy so thanks addicts for all your great advice.

As I commented to you already… you ARE already getting the bonus. It adds along as you go. So 1 star adds 1%, 2 stars 2%, and so on. You already have it.

Good question. Best suggestion is go to gulp n’ blow and see how much that pays out. Your conform-o-meter bonus might be off. 🙂
