act 2 posts coming soon – eta tomorrow for the rundown and turbo
sorry all –
you might’ve seen me mention tech troubles, now the shift keys on my laptop have decided to strike so no caps. or special characters work – joy – and half the time a whole heap of the other keys won’t respond either.
can’t / won’t post a mess like this, not fair on the reader when the info is important
new keyboard is finally here, but it’s basically the whole top tray minus the touchpad so need to strip every screw, wire and board from this and do a full rebuild.
lack of sleep and a long appointment earlier today means it’ll have to wait, can’t risk damaging anything else when doing that.
UPDATE: woohoo, got the laptop rebuilt … but it’s gone 11pm here and I’m creased from bending over wrestling teeny screws and fiddly wires – need beer !!
Here’s those pics I mentioned.
It isn’t a case of dropping in a new keyboard and connecting it, the keyboard is part of the top-tray …
That means everything inside the laptop needs dismantled and moved over – lovely …
Got it all undone, ready to rebuild – with a couple of easy bits already done …
All the fiddly stuff fitted at last …
Just the screen, battery and back left to fit …
PS: Those ready-meal / TV dinner trays came in really handy so I didn’t mix up what screws went where or I might still be trying to put it back together !!
TTFN and enjoy your weekend
