It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So, here is your Open Thread…..
First of all, it’s Father’s Day here in the US and Canada (and i’m sure some other places as well). So happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! (especially Patric and Wookiee!)
For those viewing a little before showtime, sit tight and it’ll show up in the video below shortly. For those viewing during the live stream, just hit play and you’ll get tuned it. You also have the ability to go back (rewind) in case you missed something. 🙂 And for those joining after the live stream, you can view the recording of the video right here.
No matter how, or when, you’re viewing thanks for watching and we hope you have fun!
The Addicts are back this week with an all-new episode of Addicts Live! With new content arriving in TSTO it’s FINALLY time for us to dive right on into game content.
In this episode, we’re talking all things Game of Games as we breakdown the newest event to hit our pocket-sized towns! Plus we’re dissecting everything from the E3 Simpsons panel and pondering if Matt Selman is channeling his inner Cranky Old Guy. As always, we’ll be answering your questions and sharing your comments live!
You won’t want to miss all the laughs this episode has to offer, so join us live for the fun! (of course, if you can’t make it live watching the replay is still pretty awesome too!)
In this week’s edition of DID (Designing In Downtime) FRIDAY FILLER we are going to cover the age-old designing tool of “borrowing ideas” from others, to spark your own creativity.
OK. Why the cross-out and flip from a DID to a Filler? Because, this is timely and topical…and we GOT AN UPDATE. I truly didn’t have faith in EA (and apparently, the writers) to actually come through, even with the tease. So…ironically…I am going to be writing about “Borrowing” while doing so from myself!
Borrowing is such a nice way of saying “stealing.” But, I even like the word “purloined” better, because it is an amazingly obscure, and underutilized word in the English language (that mostly makes people run and look it up when used).
But, as my job here is to serve the community, I will look it up for you.
pur·loin | \ (ˌ)pər-ˈlȯin , ˈpər-ˌlȯin\
purloined; purloining; purloins
Definition of purloin – transitive verb : to appropriate wrongfully and often by a breach of trust
I have to admit, that in the case of what I am going to write today, purloined may be the very best word possible to represent the content. While you have to love a good “filch” or even “filch’s” lesser cousin “pilfer”, purloin, and the whole “breach of trust” bit, just fits best.
A lot has transpired since the last DID post…and purloining seems to be the least of it.
Just dropping in with a quick announcement about the next Addicts Live…..
Mark your calendars because the next episode of Addicts Live will be airing tomorrow, Saturday, June 15th at 12:00pm ET (for timezone converter check here).
With the newest update hitting our games this past week, the gang decided to get together to discuss all things Game of Games and the Simpsons E3 panel. So if you’re around come hang out with us as we break it all down for you! 🙂
And those of you that can’t make the live stream, don’t worry a recording of the video will be up for your viewing pleasure after the stream is over. So you’ll be able to catch the re-run. 🙂
As far as what you’ll need for the live stream? Well, nothing different! No new program to sign up for. Just check out TSTO Addicts on Saturday, June 15th and watch for the Addicts Live post around noon. From there you’ll be able to directly play the stream…as if you were watching a regular embedded YouTube video! Nice and simple!
Let the games begin! After a long hiatus, we finally have a major event in Springfield! Game of Games has arrived and it looks to be a game fest of nerdy proportions! Of course, an all-new event means all new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Blocko Angelica Button and the Blocko Dungeon Set to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this brick-like me combo to your town…
Another TSTO Thursday and as usual I have some thoughts for you. This time I’m musing about…multi-events. With the latest update hitting our games I thought it was time to weigh in with my thoughts on the infamous new event format. And of course, I’ve got a bunch of thoughts so let’s get to ‘em…
So a little taunting (OK…a LOT!), and the fact that the writers had to “face the public” with their big E3 panel on Simpsons related games…and we FINALLY got a REAL Event! At some point it stops being a coincidence…and just a result.
I know many of you are complaining about the multi-event format. But, let’s face it…many of you complain about just about everything…and yet, continue to play. Go figure.
For the rest of you, I am happy to be doing a CALENDAR again…as it implies that there is actually an event that warrants the hours of work that go into it.
FOR ALL OF THE NUMBERS YOU NEED TO GET IT ALL (and there is a lot of stuff)…keep reading!
Let the games begin! After a long hiatus, we finally have a major event in Springfield! Game of Games has arrived and it looks to be a game fest of nerdy proportions!
The Game of Games follows the same event structure that the Simpsons Christmas Special and Valentine’s Day events before it. This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!
For Act 1 we’re tasked with finding passes for E4! Each part of the story will unlock another prize themed for the first part of the story. So let’s take a look at the details behind Week 1 and the Turbo Tappin’ Version for E4 No Access Pass…
After 4 months we FINALLY have a new “major” event available in TSTO. I say “major” because it’s not a mini-event, but it’s not your typical main event either. We’re back to multi-events for this one. So love them, or hate them, they’re here to stay at least (likely) through the end of the year.
Anywho….things kick off with 6s tasks for Homer, Lisa, and Bart. That first round is followed by another round of 6s tasks for Lisa and Bart. This then kicks off the Game of Games Multi-Event!
**For part 1 you’ll need to send Bart on a 4hr task and collect 200 VIP passes. To collect passes you can send: Bart, Lisa, Homer, Marge, Milhouse, Nelson, Martin, Ralph, Sophie, and Blocko Angelica Button (new premium character)**
As always, I’m going to continue to update this post as I run through things so keep checking back…It’s been a while since a large event hit, we’re a bit rusty around here 😉
Happy Update Day! ICYMI…and I don’t know how you could have I wrote a bunch of posts about it last night…an all-new update for TSTO hit our games last night. If you haven’t already done so, go download it from the App Store now. And if you want to see them, you can check out Spoilers here.
But this post isn’t about the new update. This post is a recap of what happened last night during the E3 Expo, and the Simpsons panel. If you didn’t get a chance to watch the hour-long panel I’ve embedded the YouTube video from it below, and I’ll highlight some areas for those who don’t have the time to watch the hour-long panel now.
