Should I Spend Donuts on the Cheddarbarrel Combine?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s nearly Fall in Springfield and of course, that means it’s time for Fall Harvest!  Nothing says Fall Harvest quite like a good old County Fair! A nice relaxing way to slowly bring Springfield back to normal after the crazy music fest!  But of course a new event, no matter how small, means our stores are now jam-packed with premium items just tempting us to drop our sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Cheddarbarrel Combine to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this farm utility vehicle to your town…

Where Did THAT Come From – New Bedlam Rest Home & Leon Kompowsky

Safi here, giving Wookiee a hand with these WDTCF. With WDTCF being a staple of TSTO Addicts, I’ll try to keep as true to the format as possible (by which I mean I’ll copy and paste one of Wookiee’s posts and just change the necessary info). Hope I make the Wookster proud. Enjoy:

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

It’s “Insane in the membrane, Insane in the brain!” time here in all of our tiny tappable towns and this sane (my mother had me tested) Super Safi could not be more thrilled.

It’s time for one of my favorite parts of being a reader here at this amazing site. That’s right… new stuff for us to talk about just WHERE it all comes from in the Best. Show. Ever. I’m always a fan of new things even though a lot of the coolest things cost precious sprinklies. The 2017 Homerpalooza Event started with a bang (literally with a free cannon) and then went full Rock, and then Pop. And when you think of Pop, you have to think of the King of Pop, none other than the late great Michael Jackson. It’s my privilege to get to writing about the origins for The Simpsons version of MJ on behalf of Wookiee. It’s always a pleasure to re-watch episodes of the Best. Show. Ever. For this round of origins, we’ll be taking a look at Leon Kompowsky, aka Michael Jackson, and the New Bedlam Rest Home:

County Fair 2017 Prize Breakdown: Little Miss Springfield Lisa (& Her Protest Animation)

Remember, this event is designed to follow a series of tasks via the questline to unlock prizes.  For each of the parts of the Pride and Pageantry questline you’ll have to earn  via various character tasks in order to unlock the prize for that part.

Let’s take a look at the details of the second (and fourth) prize, Little Miss Springfield Lisa (and her Protest Animation).  What it does and how you unlock it…

Where Did That Come From – County Fair Edition – Part I – Lisa The Beauty Queen

When Alissa asked me to write some of the “Where Did That Come From?” posts for this County Fair Mini-Event, I agreed to help, even though my favorite reply is always, “The SIMPSONS! All of this stuff is from THE SIMPSONS!!”

But then, Alissa, in her wisdom (and not willing to let me off of the hook that easily) pointed out that many of the TSTO Addicts Community actually likes to be reminded of where this stuff comes from…with a few more specifics.   So, after doing a bit of research, it occurred to me that almost all of the prizes/premium items and clutter that is being offered to us in this update is actually from just Four Episodes.

So, to make things easier to find if you are going back and looking for old episodes, I’m going to do the WDTCF posts by Episode, rather than the individual item.

PART I –  Little Miss Springfield Lisa, The Paralyzer, Turn Your Head and Coif, Ye Old Off-Ramp Inn and Amber Dempsey all come from one Episode…

Addicts Open Thread

NOTE: Right now there’s a fairly widespread issue going on with players being logged out of their TSTO game because their password was reset. If this has happened to you hit the forgot password option on the TSTO login screen and follow the instructions.

This is widespread, but it’s not impacting everyone. (But it’s impacting other EA games as well) Trying to get more info on what happened, I’ll update here if i find more info.

Thanks!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

From Musicfest to the County Fair!  Our pocket-sized Springfields have ushered fall, as we get ready for Halloween with a good old County Fair!  What are your thoughts on the County Fair Mini event?  How are you progressing with the prize track? Addicts Live! Bonus Episode: 4 Year Blogiversary Q & A

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Recently we celebrated our 4-year Blogiversary!!  (ok so it was a month ago…) In continuing with what we did for our previous anniversaries, as part of the celebration we gave you guys the opportunity to ask us anything you’d like with the promise that we’d answer your questions (or as many as we could).  And as always you guys came through in a big way!

4 years is kind of a big deal to us, since none of us thought we’d still be doing this after all these years, so we wanted to be sure to take the time out to do the special anniversary video for you guys.  We originally planned on doing this as a special Addicts Live! and live streaming it for you to watch and comment along with us, but alas the schedules got the best of us.  So we did the next best thing…we recorded it live!

And of course, like in the past, this year’s video was full of it’s own spotty wi-fi technical glitches.  Wookiee froze, I froze and Patric made fun of us…thankfully we don’t have these kinds of problems with the live stream! So I apologize in advance for the crappy video quality & weird pauses from wi-fi dropping.

Oh and be sure to check out our new Addicts Live! music!  Patric conjured that up for us and we love it!

Anyway…we hope you enjoy it!

Well what do YOU think?  Crazier than last year?  Did you laugh with us (or at us?)  Did you at least laugh at our jokes?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

Friday Filler – Small Town Charm or Stuck in the Past? It’s a Fair Question!

Thank Grog it’s Firday!!

As someone who grew up in the suburbs of the biggest city in my state, I admit that until I was old enough to know better, I always had a “well…isn’t that cute…” attitude about small towns and small town life.  While we deemed ourselves “too sophisticated” for the silliness of most of the traditions found in small towns, I realized that even in my youth, when we would “lower ourselves to the novelty” of going to the State or County fair, I found myself envying the kids in their 4-H jackets,  who got to spend the nights at the huge show barns, taking care of their prize livestock.

While just a “city slicker,” even I could tell for the most part, why one horse or cow, or even a type of chicken or rooster, was worthy of the blue ribbon that separated the champions from the also-rans.  And I clearly longed for a day when I might be one of the judges in the baking division, as I walked through aisle after aisle of cookies, pies, and pastries (that were all frozen in time with a handful of slices removed by the judges).

But it wasn’t until Deb and I took our epic, 9,600 mile cross-country trip last summer, that we truly understood what our “modern culture” may be missing in regards to true civic pride, small town culture, and a sense of community that is all but lost in the cities, as we all become addicted to our electronics, 24-hour news, and politics that are settled by Facebook, rather than face-to-face conversations.

You decide…and then let us know your favorite “Fair Memory,” after you read on…
